1StopBedrooms review: Avoid this store at all costs: Terrible customer service and deceptive practices

This store is not recommended at all. I ordered a loveseat from them on March 16, 2023. Luckily, I paid through PayPal. The order confirmation came to my email on the same day and everything seemed to be in order. The order details said my product would ship on or before April 7, 2023. It seemed kind of long just to ship, let alone actually arrive, but I was okay with it. Keep in mind that the payment through PayPal went out of my account the very next day after the order was placed.

Three days after I ordered and got my confirmation email, I got another email that said Current Status: Not Yet Complete, and the only option it gave was to call customer service at the provided phone number. It also said there was some information about billing or shipping that needed to be verified. I immediately checked my order confirmation email and checked the order online. Everything was in order. Right product, right shipping address, right billing address, correct name. What could be wrong? But, to keep from having any delays in getting the product, I called the number.

I was connected with a gentleman that at first verified all the information I just listed to which I replied that it was correct and that it was already all listed on the email confirmation. He then began to upsell me for 10 minutes on warranties. I kept telling him no, but he was persistent, explaining all the benefits of what it would cover and how much money I would save if it broke. I denied each time. Once he gave up, I finally asked him what was the purpose of the email and the subsequent phone call. He said it was just protocol to verify information. I said that all the information he asked about was already recorded on my email confirmation and was all correct. Why was my order tagged as Not Yet Complete when you already had all my info and it was all correct? He again said it was just protocol. I basically just told him that it was to upsell me on warranties, etc. So they would hold my product and not ship it and act like something was missing until I called and talked to a sales person who would sell me a warranty. I was already having serious regrets about this purchase just from that email and phone call. Seemed kind of deceptive to me.

On April 7, 2023, I checked to see if the product shipped. It hadn't. The note now said the product will ship on or before April 14, 2023. Again on April 14, 2023, I checked, and it said it would ship on or before April 21, 2023. Again on April 21, 2023, I checked, and it said it would ship on or before April 25, 2023. Finally, by now, I had had enough. I figured they were trying to hold me out until I passed the date where I could file a claim with PayPal. So, I finally contacted PayPal to explain what was happening and learn what my time frame was to get my money back.

PayPal required me to contact the seller through the PayPal message platform before they would move forward. I contacted the seller and asked them to ship my product. It had been over 40 days by then, and I had heard nothing from them other than the "ship date" changing four different times. They replied to me by personal email but never once replied via the PayPal platform. Once they heard that I had filed a claim with PayPal, they sent me another email saying my order was on hold due to this claim and that it would not move forward unless I closed the claim. I replied that I would not close the claim as it was my only hope of getting my money back.

After a few days, PayPal sent me an email that the seller had offered to give me HALF my money back and close the claim! Half my money to provide me with nothing! Are you serious!?!? I absolutely denied the offer. PayPal continued to investigate and eventually ruled in my favor. I got my money back in my account a few days later. Took that money and ordered from a local retailer and had my new loveseat in two days. Should have done that to start with!

I would never order from this company again and recommend no one else to. The experience was a nightmare, and the customer service was terrible. It was a waste of time and money. I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake I made.
