i bought a software program from zinstall to convert xp files to windows 7, not compatable, this program is to elimiate this problem, on their web site, it states that if the software does not work all monies refunded,
however after about 3 weeks of trying, the program did not work for me, so i requested a refund, this was placed in the hands of BARRY GODWIN, customer care rep.after 2 weeks of waiting i was informed that i did
not comply to the warranty(fine print), therefor no refund, on investigation of the fine print, i found that results of his enquiry had nothing to do with my problem, still no refund, out of pocket $139.00au.
this company must be really short of funds to rip people off, i have tried several times to speak to these people, but they refuse to answer my emails.
bottom line is KEEP AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE, DO NOT GO NEAR THEM, barry godwins attitude is "i have your money, thats all i want"

What a piece of junk, using odd windows conventions to move from one computer to another which will screw up your whole approach to using windows after there messy transfer. Worst, snotty and condescending tech support people ever. Asked for a refund they dicked me around for many chat sessions. Avoid this crap like the flu!

My experience is the same as others have posted, unfortunately I found this review site after the event. This company is dishonest and does not back their warranty. They have a virtual graphics adapter that causes conflicts with some of my Dos programs and they will not run at all. No help and then as others have found, no communication. Their program is also a one trick pony, one source computer and one target computer, the program won't work on subsequent computers if you wish to carry out future updates. In their last communication I was instructed to erase the program from both computers and run the diagnostics to prove it, allowing me to get a refund, I was told, more smoke and mirrors and as it proved a blatant lie. I rate Zinstall and its company a big fat 0 out of 5. This is the type of software company that deliberately takes advantage of the honesty and trust of it's customers, they're the absolute bottom of the barrel.

My experience was nothing but awful. Firstly, I purchased the more expensive version because my new computer contains a solid state hard drive. However, when I got the program I was not able to use the solid state hard drive transfer option because apparently a second non-stolid state hard drive is required to do this. This was not specified when I purchased the program. I then wanted to exclude numerous files from being transferred and I had to do this one file at a time as there is no way to choose more than one file or directory at a time when specifying which files to exclude. God forbid you make a mistake and exit out of this Interface of choosing the directories without saving your work because you will have to start over at the beginning. Even after doing this (and taking a lot of time to do this) the directories I wanted to exclude were still transferred by this worthless program. Subsequently I contacted customer service on numerous occasions to try and get a refund but after initially ignoring my request, they made me run the diagnostic program which showed that I had indeed transferred files (at least half of them in error as I had chosen them to be excluded) so I was not entitled to a refund. I would never use this product again and would recommend ANY other similar option over this.

I searched for a way of transferring programs and files to my new Windows 10 HP PC. I chose zinstall and sadly was very disappointed. It took 24 hours. Then I found out that none of my files were transferred There was a hitch with transferring my microsoft home and student word 2007. I was told I'd have to pay an extra $83 or $87 (if I remember correctly) to have one of their techs achieve this. This took 8 hours. Then I found out that they did transfer Word but none of my files were transferred. Then I contacted Carbonite and they were able to download all the files in a very short period of time. I contacted Zinstall to tell them I was dissatisfied and the least they could do is pay back the additional $83 or $87. The person was fully prepared to deal with this so it was obvious I wasn't the first person to have a problem with zinstall. One would think a company would want us to be happy with their service. I wasn't asking for a full refund, just the extra amount. He refused no matter how I explained the situation. The only way he would be willing to reimburse me would be to totally undo everything they had done so I'd have to start from scratch. I will not use Zinstall again and I would not recommend them. I read all the glowing reviews on their website. Of course they aren't going to publish any of these negative reviews.

I've used Zinstall it worked, however they deactivated it after one use so be aware you can only use it for one migration.

I have only had to deal with them this week. After reading these complaints I have a feeling that dealing with them is only going to get worse. I purchased a new PC and wanted to migrate files, etc to the new one. I purchased and attempted to use their Easy Transfer program. It doesn't live up to the name "easy." The new PC I have has SSD on the C drive and HDD on the E drive. It will only transfer data to the C drive, which is not big enough. When I asked their support how I can designate a specific drive to migrate files to their recommendation was to purchase an additional program for $169. I asked for a refund but the want me to open a support case and run their diagnostics tool on both of my machines. I think I should save myself the headache and consider it as money lost.

I agree with all/most of the above. Stay away from this program! I have a friend who used this software for a while to convert their XP to Win 8.1. it actually worked until the snapshot for corrupt. From a technical note it looks like they re-branded Oracle's VirtualBox. The config files are nearly identical. I had to recover data from a corrupted snapshot image i finally got the snapshot mounted using "Arsenal Image Mounter v2.0.010.0 x64" then used R-Studio (NTFS) to scan and recover the files. Every aspect of this program and website look suspect.

It is consistent to what other Business bureaus are reporting. The company is not a US company. It is headquartered in Israel and thus feels it can get away with this. Sad!

DO not purchase this product. they do not honor there 100 percent guarantee and in fact they intentionally mislead the purchaser. I purchase this product from them online which came with no instructions. After installing on both the old computer and the new I ran the program as advertised on their web page. It took 9 hours for the program to install and when finished the new computer with Win 8.1 acknowledged the completion by stating it was completely successful. However after trying to open the product they requested that I run the diagnosis on both old computer and new. Great, I ran it on the new, which always upon start cited error code 262. However, when I went to run the diagnosis on the old computer it would not boot. What is their solution, to pay and addition 89 dollars to get the premium customer care whereby they would enter into my new computer and attempt to fix and the reinstall it remotely. The fact is, the product did not work for me and they still refuse to refund, saying it is my fault. I did not create the program they did but it is my fault. The customer support while having a 530 area code is definitely eastern indian, and there is a language barrier. I repeat do not buy this product. May they rot in hell!

This Zinstall XP7 software may work for you IF you have a Very Simple XP System using simple motherboard video and you have never put any add-in cards into your XP system. But, if you have an advanced video card or any other add-in cards, you will be very disappointed at having spent $149 (Feb 2014) for software that you expected to be able to handle the driver conversions necessary to allow your XP system to run in a Win 7 Virtual Machine because it does not. As soon as it finds something that it does not like, it barfs. You are expected to manually dumb down your XP system before attempting to do the transfer. And, even if you do get your XP system to run in the Zinstall Virtual Machine, you will be very disappointed to find out that there are no tools provided to allow you to maintain that Virtual Machine. Looking back, I was short on time, so I figured I would buy this over-priced solution (throw money at it rather than time). After several time consuming unsuccessful tries, I have since abandoned it. Since this company is off-shore, I have simply chalked it up as a bad investment on my part and have moved on. Just like a stock that is too good to be true, this solution is too good to be true. STAY AWAY FROM IT.

I not only contacted and spoke with a rep in advance, I ran the diagnostic tools and all reports said I was a good candidate. After the transfer, I got a message that everything was successful. That was the beginning of the nightmare. For two days I had problems re-registering programs, had to re-install programs, and had such a problem with Office, that Dell had to roll back my computer to it's original factory condition. I then did things the "old" way, and within 24 hours I had my computer running at full speed...minus 2 days of my life after the disaster called Zinstall. I wouldn't recommend this company/program to anyone. STAY AWAY unless you want to throw $119.00 down the toilet.

I to purchased ZInstall. When I asked for support for the simplest of questions, the only thing they would provide me with was that I needed to pay an additional $99 to properly install and activate the program. Your better off following Microsoft's recommendations for migrating XP to Windows 7. Use Microsoft's virtual machine until April 2014..
Fact is this program only creates a virtual XP machine, and it's my understanding Microsoft will no longer support that, after April 2014, anyway.
At total waste of money. Read the fine print on the agreement before you buy. You'll have no recourse if something goes wrong during the migration. NONE!
Most of the comments above are truthful. If you don't pay the additional $99 - their support becomes non-existent faster than a New York minute.

Avoid Zinstall at all costs!
I have installed the software and it fails to work each time.
The sugested fix is to completely uninstall my firewall and virus protection then connect to internet.
This is both stupid and irresponsible advice from zinstall a smy pc would be vulnerable to any hacker in range.
As soon as I ask for a refund, Zinstall no longer reply to emails but are now sending "pretend" auto responses.
The software does not work, the company are totally unhelpful, save your money and buy something else.
Zinstall will rip you off.
