I sent money to a valid number attached to a Zelle account. After 1 hour the payment didn't go through. I decided to stop payment because it's within a couple minutes that the recipient can see the deposit from the sender. A few days later I saw a $20 stop payment fee that Zelle debited to my bank acct. Zelle is convenient, but they are scammy IMO. During the stop payment process there was no prompt or notification that I would be charged a $20 fee. I have also read many horror stories about people losing their money when it never made it to a recipient & therefore should have come back to the sender but never did, and the sender was SOL. Zelle really blows. On their website it says, "CONTACT US: but there is no email contact and the phone number it automated with no way to talk to a live agent. Zelle is as bad as paypal & Venmo. All 3 suck. USE ZELLE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Recommendation: Stay away from Zelle if you are able to
