How responsive is Yahoo!'s customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Yahoo! handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Yahoo! and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Yahoo! yahoo email

This Saturday I noticed that I lost all my email in my inbox. I have a Yahoo mail account for over 20 years. That was my first email account. I read that is possible to recover the deleted emails if I may the request within the 7 days of my lost. I made the request but they only recover the mails that I received that day. I went to the webpage of yahoo support which deal with this issue directly . The Agent was Mike Allen. When they read my request the agent put me on hold for almost an hour. I try to look for another agent closing my browser and by deleted my history. But the system lock my with Mike. I called the number in the page [protected] to see if I can talk with somebody who could help me with my problem. They said me that my account had be access by 6 devices. I have 3 laptop, 1 smart phone, and 2 tables. I said that doesn't matter. The agent said that he put already a block in my account and nobody gonna access my account only if I pay $200 after that payment he's gonna return my money. I just move and I don't have any money until next week. So, I repeat that I don't care about identity theft I only care about my deleted emails. He insisted. So, I said that he make the thing worst because my issue was deleted email no identity theft. So, I said I prefer that he undo whatever he did. He said that I don't understand English and I can completely forget about those deleted emails. he hang up. So, I went again to the webpage to see if can chat with another agent from yahoo support who can be more willy to recover my emails but they block my laptop and my phone number. The page said that I was going to receive a email with more information about my request but I am still waiting. All my email from my family, friends, college, works, everything was deleted and nobody in yahoo support care about that.

Yahoo! yahoo mail

Since registering with Yahoo Mail I have been inundated with solicitous emails. I have tried moving them to thejunk box but they won't let me. Also I am receiving emails for insurance of all difference types and a whole host of emails that should have gone straight to the spam box.

Dates: From June 2017 to date.

I have attached, by screenshot, the latest email.

Yahoo! trying to finish a story that has to be continued on another site

I just called and I GUESS I got disconnected.

As I tried explaining to the gentlemen when I try to continue reading about a story and I have to press the READ MORE...it goes back to a yahoo home page of last week's. For some reason or other, it does not happen on all the READ MORE sites. This started happening to me around the week of 7/31.

It is just kind of frustrating, because then I have to go to MSN and finish reading up on the story.

Yahoo! articles

I get damn tired of the bias, non-factual articles that are written by your writers. I never saw any of this when President #44 was in office. Shame on you yahoo. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. I bet this sounds familiar "Get over it" Trump is your president! Why don't you be one of the first media outlets that shows a little class and integrity instead of spewing your hateful opinions.

Yahoo! advertising on yahoo finance

There is a recurring daily advertisement on Yahoo Finance homepage labelled "when people do this, Bankers go Crazy". It shows a real picture of Bill Gates, followed by testimonies (all false) of people who have made money with his "Gatesways" money-making scheme. This is then followed by a FAKE video showing an actor resembling Mr. Gates making a presentation at TED.
In fact Gatesways is a binary option seller or intermediary. Binary options are illegal and fraudulent. Moreover, impersonation and false testimonies are fraud.
When one clicks on the " I don't like this ad" one can choose four options why one dislikes the ad.
All responses come with announcement " thank you for your feedback-we'll review and make changes needed". Of course no changes are made. The same ad then reappears elsewhere at Yahoo Finance only to return on the home page again. I believe that Yahoo, or for that matter Verizon should dissociate itself from this fraudulent ad.

Yahoo! complaint: yahoo fantasy baseball. yahoo public 131857

I have paid for 2 Yahoo Pro Fantasy Baseball Leagues and have been locked out by Yahoo. 1 league is YAHOO PUBLIC 131857 and YAHOO PUBLIC 153087.
These were Pro 20 leagues. I spent a total of $40.00
I would like to be reimbursed my money some how or unlock my accounts to continue to play. If this is not the right department for this issue than please forward this to the right department or contact me. Note: I have not done any kind of cheating or talked inappropriate. Please contact me to resolve this issue. I have invested money to this Yahoo game so it's important that this gets solved soon. If not, I will take further action. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from a Yahoo Rep.

Yahoo! can't delete my account

I made a decision to delete my yahoo account based on getting lots of spam, plus the service is terrible. I have never had problems with logging into the account, always use right password and ID, but every time I put the same information to approve the page deleting it doesn't accept it.

I just have no words to say. Looks like I have to hire a lawyer to delete those tons of spam.

Yahoo! annoying video ads with sound

I usually go to Yahoo News and Finance to read articles. Lately, there have been constant video ads with loud volume playing with no apparent place to put the ad on mute. This is extremely distracting while I am at work, at the library/ at home with a sleeping baby next to me. It has been such a turn off that I have just been googling articles to read and going to other sources that don't force me to listen to a loud ad.

If you're going to force a video ad on me, can you at least do what Facebook does and put the default sound at mute with the option to turn on the sound? I go to the site to READ articles, NOT WATCH videos.

Not to mention that it made me nearly leap out of the shower when I thought I was alone and a man's voice suddenly came clearly out of the living room. This should be ILLEGAL!

Yahoo! yahoo finance

there is annoying audio commercials that pop up without me clicking link. Inaudible video commercials are annoying enough. I will not be returning regularly again until this is disabled. I am very unhappy because I've relied on Yahoo for over 30 years. Now I will be looking for another financial website to visit on a daily basis. The most annoying thing is a loud audio video ad that completely disrupts my reading articles.

Yahoo! home page

A recent change now provides me with a "reaction" to the home page news stories when browsed on my iPhone. Whenever I flick across the different stories I see what the last person to comment has to say about it.
So far most of these reactions have been racist, violent, insulting, swearing (although with swapped letters to avoid detection) or amazingly dumb and Ill informed.
There seems no way to hide these?
Firstly, I'd prefer not to see the comments as they are not useful and have nothing to do with the news.
Secondly, children will see these while simply looking at the news so also get to read the the messages at the same time.
Please can you give an "opt in" option to see these or at least monitor the reactions before displaying them on your front page.
Preferably remove them altogether or move them to a separate discussion area requiring a login?
Thanks

Or make a complaint to the right people, defend what's right, make a stand, point out where things can be improved, try to make life better for everyone, don't be a passive observer and make a difference...
My mistake is that I meant to complain to Yahoo and I seemed to have complained to a random forum instead of them (so failed on my first point above).
I will "quit" this forum as you suggest and try again with those who can help.

Yahoo! news article: jogger pushes women in front of bus

Highlighting this article on your home page and offering customers the opportunity to see a woman being pushed to her death just defies belief. The thought process behind this can only be: an innocent person's terrible death is entertaining and will generate hits for Yahoo. This is not simply unethical, this is monstrous. That your corporation would encourage people, especially the children who will happen on this article when wanting to view their email, to approach human life in this way can only show that those making the decisions for Yahoo are devoid of any morality at all and should be kept from promoting this attitude in others. Something like this should be grounds for revoking any licence to print "journalistic" stories altogether. This may be the internet, but Yahoo should be held accountable, like any news agency, for encouraging an inhuman ideology.

Yahoo! adverts in my in box

I am receiving adverts at the top of my inbox every time I look at it. I DO NOT WANT THEM. I have tried every device you offer to remove them and to log out of future items but nothing works and all your links take me back to the same place. Nothing works. The same adverts keep turning up even though you say you will act on my telling you they are offensive to me. I have opted out and still they keep coming. STOP THEM!

Yahoo! news feed

Please. Can the content on the news feed get any more salacious? May we please get some relevant news--real news? I'm embarrassed to see it, and I'm not the only one. I seriously don't care about reality "stars, " unsavory stories, and whatever else is supposed to attract my attention because it's gross. Either rise above stupid clickbait or I quit using Yahoo.

Yahoo! email

Starting the beginning of August, yahoo e-mail keeps timing out and crashing. Looks like you are putting in an upgraded version. I tried to switch to the new version but switched back because its performance wasn't any better. Please wait to roll out an upgrade when "you have your act together". Yahoo mail is basically unusable to me now and it is the only personal e-mail service I use (don't use gmail yet).

Yahoo! yahoo finance page

I really love this page and have been an avid user for about 5 years. However I think this week I will have to begin using CNN and others. Here is why.

I have been getting a Bell Canada Survey and a Microsoft Update Request generated from you page at least 15 times a day since Monday. I have also had this bell request in previous weeks and the only ways to escape them are to either fill out this bogus survey or to close the Yahoo pages entirely.

I cannot believe that you are actively trying to monetize your site like this and will be writing a similar complaint to Bell Canada who I am sure did not commission this ad either. Both companies need to take a more active approach to ensure your users are not irritated to these lengths.

Yahoo! yahoo search engine (news feed)

When I go on the Internet my Yahoo page comes up giving me the latest news etc. When I click on a news item and start to read it another item (IndiaOnClick) over takes the spot and I have no way of going back to the story I want to read. I don't know if this is just Yahoo selling the advertising but if I can't read the news story I will need to get another search engine. Thanks.

Yahoo! yahoo mail

My id: [protected]@yahoo.com
I have certain mail groups. All these days when I type the group name in 'To' field while composing a mail, it automatically used to provide the complete mail list in that group. For example, in my group "religious-2", I have 68 persons listed. But today it shows only 23 persons.
Hence I am unable to send mails to the groups.

Yahoo! yahoo message boards and censoring.

I recently tried posting comments on the Yahoo message boards regarding the article "Trump denies he called the white house a dump"posted on Aug 2, 2017. I tried posting comments at around 1145 PM, Aug 2, 2017. This is the full context of my post which was consistently denied, and not posted.

'Everybody knows Trump has a big mouth. And everybody knows he regularly sticks his foot in it. But I also believe that the MSM (and other 'news outlets') regularly report a bunch of garbage to purposely embarrass Trump and make him look bad. C'mon folks. You DO NOT become a billionaire with worldwide business ventures and global investments by being stupid! Only a fool would believe that!'

What is going on with the censorship on these message boards? This post has no obscenities, no abusive language, and no hurtful content! I tried posting it numerous times to no avail. This is NOT the first time this has happened. It is a reoccurring theme. Please respond with an explanation. I'm curious as to why this is consistently happening!

Yahoo! yahoo news

I have been a yahoo mail user for more than 10 years. In the last few years the so called "news" I am bombarded with when I log-out of my email account is absolutely disgusting. I do not wish to see endless stories of rape, horrific violence, and nonsense, hence I do not buy tabloid papers, nor watch that kind of news.

I keep informed as I wish too, and support many initiatives for positive human development. I do not expect nor appreciate the barrage of horrific information that Yahoo sends my way, nor understand why this is present, necessary or of any use to anyone.

Yahoo PLEASE address this situation and improve it immediately, for the sake of yourselves, your subscribers and really the whole of humanity. The effect of this cannot be underestimated. It's overdone, everywhere.

It would just be great to have an email provider taking a different route and providing it's subscribers with positive input and influences, just like the thought for the day on the Tube, trailblazing.

Yahoo! mackeeper

August 2, 2017 @ 11:30 AM. I see yet another sponsored ad for MacKeeper on the Yahoo home page. MacKeeper is a well-known malware distribution platform. They are very aggressive with advertising and targeting those who post anything negative about their product, but as an administrator of Macintosh systems at a college in Canada, I can tell you I see a lot of students with this software on their systems and invariably they need help removing it. There is a Macworld magazine article that explains how to remove this software without going into why you would want to, as the parent company (formerly Zeobit, now Kromtech Alliance) tends to sue anyone who claims their software is no good. Their software is not malware, but it does little good for your Mac in my opinion and I believe it is often bundled with malware that is installed at the same time, taking over your Internet searches and causing pop-up ads. The software is often deliberately not very good at uninstalling itself, so you generally need help getting rid of it.

I currently use Malwarebytes for Mac to remove this blight from student computers.

Please do not accept ads from this company. Their whole business model is based upon deception.
