WiMacTel – Charge for no service provided

I noticed a charge on my Bell bill this month for a call to a payphone in Calgary — specifically to the number 587-943-0411. I’m certain I didn’t make this call, so I’m surprised that Bell would allow this charge to go through.

It appears to be a scam linked to a company called WiMacTel. While the charge was small ($3.89 CAD), it is completely unjustified. I want to warn others to keep an eye out for similar suspicious charges.
