Waste Management [WM] Price and customer gouging

Waste Management charges almost twice what other companies charge for the same service and they hold you hostage with their over double canister pick up fee if you cancel. I was told my bill would remain the same if I kept the service only to find out that my bill went up by 10.00 and I was told I was not eligible for a price reduction? What a rip off! Buyer beware don't go with this company. I have spread the word in my community and everyone is going with RAD.

Waste Management [WM] Fee for removing dumpster

Today, I contacted Waste Management to cancel our service as of the contract date of 9/1/21. I spoke with Brandon in the retention department. I explained that I did not want our contract (customer ID: [protected]) to renew in September and asked where I needed to send my written cancellation. After he tried to talk me into not cancelling and I insisted that was what I was going to do, he said he would take care of it with this phone call. I asked if there wasn't something else I should do because the contract said the cancellation should be in writing. He said "no, this phone call is enough and the call is recorded". Then he said that we will have to pay a fee of $185 for removal of the dumpster. I don't think we should have to pay this fee. Waste Management has talked me into contracts for years that they always have had a reason for upping the price on, now this.

Desired outcome: No fee for dumpster removal.

Waste Management [WM] Paid last week and services were never restored.

Due to the pandemic, I was short on funds so my bills kept piling up. I called waste to see what we could do. They agreed to waive the $50 reconnect fee if I agreed to pay off the remaining balance. I borrowed money from my father n law I order to do so as I was promised by the rep that my trash would be picked up today. Well when I called today, they said they couldn't get anyone out to pick it up, and I will have to wait another week. The services were never restored, and the fee was not waived. I Will be shopping around for a new trash company as this is unacceptable. My garage smells from the trash pile up and waste is not doing what they promise.

Desired outcome: I want my trash picked up today or tomorrow. I have company coming

Waste Management [WM] Garbage totes not being serviced.

Dennis Nelson 12 Alcazar Lane, Orondo, Wa. 98843. I have a home in a small community of 6 homes in which 3 have garbage service. Of the 3 we are the only year round resident. For safety purposes in the winter months we are expected to pull totes to adjoining road which is approximately 750 ft. My garbage has been picked up 3 times which I'll do my best to explain. I have videoed the days not picked up, the most recent was Feb 25th. The day was dry and sunny and in the low 50's, no safety concerns whatsoever. Our road to my house is fairly flat with a slight decline, nothing that would be considered remotely close to a safety issue in the winter months. When I complained about the service the local Waste Management blew me off. I understand the safety aspect but this road is nothing especially when you compare it to other roads in the area that are being serviced. The driver is either under trained, lacks experience, has no common sense or all the above. Hearing I'm sorry for your experience and you can double up for next pick up is in my opinion blowing me off. They could send a supervisor out and talk to me and explain the safety concern which Ibelieve is invalid

I think your $75 tote pickup fee is unreasonable gouging. I never agreed to this. This $75 tote fee was not mentioned on my first contract/bill in march of 2019 and I can prove it. Waste Management [WM] Recycle

I live in Sparks Nevada.
I was notified that I had disposed of material in my recycle can that was not supposed to be in there.
I am absolutely certain that the photo taken was not of my can. I had only cardboard and magazines in my recycle on that pickup day.
My can is right next to my neighbor's so that may have been the issue. I don't know how the cans are identified properly.
In any case I resent being sent my first warning when it wasn't my fault. You need to figure out a better way before you blame and possibly fine someone for something they haven't done.

Desired outcome: A response indicating how recycle cans are identified and how to prevent this from recurring.

Waste Management [WM] Service charges

I was a loyal customer for 10 years paying my $138 a quarter when I started having problems with recycling not being picked up I started checking out other suppliers to find out that a local service was only $45 a quarter! When I called Waste Management to cancel they asked if I wanted to be transferred to the department that could price match for my area. Whaaat? You should know the local rates and be fair and competitive. This is nothing more than taking advantage of people who you can. This is so unethical I will never recommend this company. Then you have the audacity to charge me to pick up my containers. You've made something close to $4000 in excess charges over 10 years and you want another $75 to take your containers back? I will be an advocate to inform anyone I meet to be aware of your practices. Unscrupulous.

Waste Management [WM] Credit

On Nov 6th 2020 we cancelled our waste management account due to being charged fees for inactivity or for our rep messing up our pick up days. All charges were to be handled and we were to just pay our normal bill... Well we did that and they started charging us late fees on the charges they were supposed to remove on 1/22/2021 on rep James Leirer sent us an email stating we owed $489.13 and that he got $233.00 credited off by his manager the total remaining due to close our account was $256.13 we paid this 1/25/2021 and everything should have be finished... Nope then we get a letter threatening to send us to collections if we do not pay more money. Today James emailed again stating that we owe an additional $40.51 which he stated was 90 day old we cancelled our account more than 90 days ago. I requested a manager number and was informed a manager would be calling me. I have not heard from one as of yet.

Desired outcome: I want these bogus charges removed and our account closed out.

Waste Management [WM] Trash not being picked up

Fri feb 5th 2021 concerned about pickup called agent said driver hadn't logged in yet for the day she didn't know why told me our trash wouldn't be pick up that day nor week. Not helpful at all. Same day received call from different agent left message on machine stating no service this week may have complications about next week. Our account is long term client, understanding on weather and road conditions, politeness, and abide by waste management guide lines. And yes just want to be clear, no refund our account back to family plain paying once a year. Specific resolution would be half the cost for next year or remainder of 202 funds redeemed by waste management. The trash was not picked up for the entire month of dec now two in feb I feel the polite thing to do. Thank goodness we are loyal customers. It is getting to be hard to be polite about your company, and loyal to your clients, by having good dependable drivers. Thank you

Waste Management [WM] Camera tracking in monterey county not reliable by address gps

Incidents reported to my account from neighboring photos and video, WM will not admit to the flaws. Even the drivers who say they have no authority over the cameras in the trucks they drive, to the regional mgr of WM who has to pen white house numbers on the cans because the serial numbers imprinted on the cans are not used, to saying not able to remove from online account, no case numbers assigned with repeated emails, phone calls, as well as in person visits with verbal responses that Im not charged but wont give me a written response, clearly shows intent in my opinion to hurt our poor community with fees and fines that distort the fact you rolled out the camera system with one way accountability. Ok for thee but not for me. You have distorted the facts to the Franchise agreements in my opinion and if not resolved to fix this, I will take it to City Councils of every city in your service and show the photos and the evidence. I proved my case to the Regional and to WM since Jan 5th. Even Texas WM saw the error from the photos to the address but no call or email yet only verbal.

Desired outcome: remove the incidents from accnt/ better accountable address ID to the cans

There is a written response to problems with wrong addresses on the gps camera system and it involves writing the house address on the cans top and sides. I would always get them to approve this anyways but there is a guide to address smart truck issues. Thats all I will say. I have put this to rest since I am told in writing they have corrected the problem and I will not be fined. Always call them and get the names and log your times. Take pictures of as backup.

I feel at this point Texas has responded and I will give credit to Texas WM for getting this to a reasonable step. Its my only reason for submitting resolved. There are a few things to sort out but I will not keep this on since they did respond in writing.

Waste Management [WM] Termination practices

Upon terminating my contract with the company (Waste Management) at the end of my service agreement, I was sent a bill totaling $259.20 for removal of the container which they provided. This was not a bill for service of trash pickup or for early termination of the agreement. This was for them to retrieve their property. This was more cost than a monthly bill. It is unreasonable to charge for the removal of their property at the end of the service contract. I had been a customer for decades and the reason for ending their services was because of practices like this. I have not located the cost of container removal in my service agreement, if it is there.

Desired outcome: I desire the cancellation of this invoice for the removal of Waste Management's trash container and a end to all correspondence with them.

Waste Management [WM] Greens pickup

Upon return to the US on 1/11 I had set my green cans out as a wind storm left my property strewn with palm leaves. Nothing was picked up and I was told greens were now being collected every OTHER week due to the pandemic, but I could put bundles out to be picked up. I got nearly everything in cans which was collected on 1/20 and then I suffered another wind storm.

I called and said I will need to set bundles out for the 1/27 pickup due to the volume of fallen palm leaves and was told I could, so long as I placed them on the curb of my property and not a neighbor's, and I did not block my own cans. One truck came at 11:10AM which I saw on my security camera, and another came at 11:30AM to pick up the other two cans which the first truck left.

I called at 1PM because the palm bundles were left behind and asked if they were still being picked up. I was assured that truck was en route. I called later at 4PM to say I have never had a truck take hours to reach my home, the rep reassured me not to worry because the trucks would be out until 6PM.

The next day I called to ask why the palm bundles were still there. The gal told me that due to my numerous calls on 1/27 that two trucks were sent to empty my green cans. I asked her when she showed that I called, and she said at 1:09PM. I asked her how my 1PM call could send a second truck TWO HOURS INTO THE PAST to come to my home at 11:30AM and she could not answer. At that point I requested a manager call me.

Jennifer called me later, who did not introduce herself as being in any supervisory role, and tried to tell me that the organic material of palm leaves are not considered organic material and biodegradable because of where I live. Confronted with such an absurdity I told her I did not wish to waste her time further and ended the call.

I called back and got another manager (Connie?) who apologized and promised to review the previous call tapes for misinformation, as she reiterated that palm leaves are not considered to me green waste. (This is a ridiculous constraint that my neighbor's trash service does NOT have!) I conversed with her further as well as Jennifer previously and discovered that green waste from my area is sent to a mulch facility which can not take palms.

WHY AM I BEING PENALIZED BECAUSE WASTE MANAGEMENT, WHO HAS TAKEN PALM LEAF WASTE FOR YEARS, HAS NOW REZONED MY AREA'S GREEN WASTE TO GO TO A MULCHING FACILITY?

WITH ALL OF THE CHANGES IN THE PANDEMIC THAT EVERYONE HAS TO DEAL WITH, THIS ADDS INSULT ONTO INJURY.

Telling me this is because of Zero Waste regulations is a falsehood as the trash service of my other neighbors would have to fall under the same constraint and they DO NOT.

Desired outcome: I need Waste Management to stop witholding the green waste collections that I am paying for.

Waste Management [WM] Rate change

My contract clearly spells out any price increases during the contract period, which we are currently at.
I've left 3 messages over several days with promises on each message that this would be investigated and resolved.
If this is not resolved within 48 hours - I will be forced to file a complaint w the BBB, FTC, Illinois attorney general.
I trust that this will not be needed.
Thank-you so much for your attention to this problem.

Waste Management [WM] Trash not being picked up

It has been two weeks now since my trash was last picked up on my street, in Riverside (Highgrove). We called today, they said they would send out someone to pick it up, and no one ever came. We are paying for our service and they don't even complete it. We have been sending e-mails, reporting the missed pick ups, and none of it seems to go anywhere. It's not only at my address, all other houses on our street haven't gotten their trash picked up in the past two weeks either. They just mark our street as being picked up when it hasn't been in two weeks now!

Desired outcome: Refund for past two weeks of no service, trash to be picked up.

Waste Management [WM] Convoluted, confusing, and deceptive website

I just wanted to get any updated schedule for my area, and been stymied at every turn. I first tried the local number [protected]), was put on hold for 5min, then was disconnected. I went on the website, but when I went looking, it was like walking through a maze. I did finally get a message to goto [MY WM] under the menu button, even as a guest. I saw NO [MY WM] option available, abd I Still have no idea where the schedule is. It's looking like they do not want to talk to users unless users want to schedule payable services...

Desired outcome: 1) access to local schedule 2) a more user friendly website

Waste Management [WM] Eastvale Riverside trash truck driver stole our gray trash container

On December 28, 2020 our gray trash container was missing. Fortunately we have a surveillance camera and we reviewed the video and it showed the trash truck driver taking our gray trash container with him. I called it in to WM and I asked the lady I spoke to for the driver's name because I wanted to file a police report for theft of property. My neighbor was told that to replace a lost trash container we have to pay $150.00. The lady on the phone would not give me the driver's name, but simply said they will replace our trash container on Monday, 1/4/21. Today a replacement gray container was delivered in front of my home at around 0745. It is a banged up container and the inside is dirty. These people do not realize I crawl inside the trash container, hosing and scrubbing them to keep them clean because I do not like anything dirty and smelly in my property.

Waste Management [WM] My car window was broken

Hi last week Wednesday, my front passenger window was broken by the trash men that was working that route. No note was left, just a broken window. That I am now forced to pay for TWO days before Christmas. It wasn't a break in nothing in my car was disturbed. I had items of value that was on my floor in the back of the car. It was still there, the only thing that was near my car that day was the trash truck. My neighbor wasn't able to catch everything on camera. If someone can please contact me @ [protected]. The incident happened on 6000 block of Duffield street, Philadelphia, pa 19135.

Waste Management [WM] Trash pick up

This complaint is about advance disposal we have a law suite against them and the city of centerpoint alabamapamrela freeman account number s5102735 and there are 420 other houses surrounded by centerpoint alabama that are in jefferson county alabama advance disposal has never picked up trash from the above mentioned houses we pay for the service but we call in and they refuse to pick it up it has got to be 3 ft by 3 ft by 2 foot tall 1 cubic yard per every 3 months the women at advance are sourcastic and refuse to corporate so we have been paying for service since 2010 and having to haul the trash off ourselves and that cost is added into the law suite you need to get someone out here visit each resident and apoligise for advance and give the women in moody a good talking to we have been paying for service since 2010 and all we get when we call for a pick up is a promise but never a pick up you can come up country view dr and see piles of trash that have been there for years and people have piles of trash in their back yards because advance refused to pick it up when the tornado hit all the houses here in 2012 we expected advance to come around and help but they took all their trash trucks to tuscaloosa alabama and leased them to the federal emergency manage service and the jefferson county trash trucks had to come in and haul all the trash off I have been batteling cancer for the past 12 years and a double hernia and was not able to keep my yard up and bushes grew in the yard so all the neighbors brought their trassh and piled it up in my yard because advance refused to pick it up and if you come up here you will see all the trash and why we started the law suite we paid every time we were billed but we never recived any service we did not have a choice they would refuse to pick up the garbage if we did not pay the trash bill also the account is in pamela freemans name 718 country view dr. Waste Management [WM] Billed overage for my neighbor across the street with their picture 33192145007

They sent me a picture of a bin that was over filled of my neighbor across the street. I called I left a message, never returned call. I called today, was transferred 3 times last one was Cathy Chy, wanted to send some one to verify I am saying the truth. I am a customer for over 25 years. Poor customer service. Time to get a new company.

Waste Management [WM] Missed trash / recycling bin pick ups

My Recycling Bin was scheduled for pick this past Tuesday, November 24, 2020 (bi-weekly service).

I called November 25, but for some reason the phone disconnected just past 5pm (therefore, I missed an opportunity to have them come out and pick up the Recycyling Bin).

I called again at 10:00 am, Friday, November 27, my phone was disconnected AGAIN. I called back at 10:20 am, and spoke to a second representative. He told me that the first representative did NOT schedule an appointment to have my Recycling Bin service. So, the second representative made one.

I also asked, if Waste Management personnel had MISSED the whole neighborhood — Why do EACH homeowner have to call in individually to have it serviced (it would seem to be the proper was to just send out one to collect the WHOLE neighborhood that had been missed). He said, it's their policy.

I ask when will my Recycling Bin be picked up. He replied, it'll be today before 6pm, or next Monday. I asked to speak to a Supervisor as I was not satisfy by his answer. He placed me on hold for about 25 minutes before it was transferred. I stayed on the phone, after it was transferred, and kept holding as the phone rang for another 20 minutes (no one picked up) before I hung up.

I called back a third time to inquired when my Recycling Bin will be serviced. This representative told me that it will be serviced by the end of today (Friday, November 27, 2020).

My Recycling Bin is still sitting out by the curb at the time of this email. I called Waste Management again (800-423-9986) to check and see what happened yesterday. I called the above number and selected the proper numbers to get to an automated answering service. The voice stated that according to my telephone, they were able to determined that my Recycling Bin had been picked up at 7:03pm, Friday, November 27, 2020.

I would not be filing this complaint, had that been true, as stated before... my Recycling Bin is still full and had NOT been serviced at the time of writing this email (Saturday, 3:48pm PST, November 28, 2020).

Please understand, I rather spend my time enjoying life and doing other things than to write this email to complain about a business who simply DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CUSTOMER'S REQUESTS.
