Dear Vodacom Customer Care,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the ongoing issues I have experienced with the cancellation of my contract under invoice number I4485882.
On 25 May 2025, I submitted a 30-day notice to cancel this contract as required. I subsequently called Vodacom to confirm the cancellation and was informed that I would receive an SMS with a reference number. However, I never received this reference number.
Two days later, I followed up by sending an email to [protected]@vodacom.co.za
, but I received no response. Despite my follow-ups and multiple promises that a supervisor would contact me, I have yet to receive a single call or email from Vodacom.
Recently, I was notified that my account is now in arrears and that the cancellation was not processed because I supposedly did not follow the “correct procedure.” I find this explanation unacceptable given that I acted in good faith, followed Vodacom’s instructions, and made every effort to confirm the cancellation.
In addition, I requested a quote for early cancellation of the remaining data line (SIM-only contract). I was told that I must first settle the arrears before such a quote could be provided. This circular process makes it impossible for me to resolve the matter and demonstrates a serious lack of transparency.
Please note that I have made all due payments on the data line contract. The last payment on the cancelled contract was made in June 2025, following my 30-day notice period.
This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and reflects poorly on Vodacom’s customer service. As a long-standing client, I expect clear communication, transparency, and accountability — not threats of legal action or ITC reporting for an issue caused by Vodacom’s own administrative failures.
I therefore request the following:
Immediate investigation into why my cancellation request (25 May 2025) was not processed.
Written confirmation that the contract under invoice I4485882 is cancelled with effect from the appropriate date.
A corrected statement reflecting the true balance due (if any).
A quote for early termination of the remaining SIM-only data line.
Please treat this matter as urgent and confirm receipt of this complaint in writing.
