iv got a car on mobility as i have a disabled son, and decided after many years with vw, id have a change.i went to drive vauxhall bristol, and decided on a vauxhall insignia.it seemed a good reliable car.about two weeks ago i was driving through our local town centre and suddenly a complete stranger came running along side my car and told me the underneath of my car was on fire.myself, my daughter and friend jumped out of the vehicle, and running around panicked i rung the fire dept, which responded immediately.also the security staff in the shopping complex were out before that and put the fire out for me, im so grateful. after an hour the rac came and took a look at the car, and said the tray underneath had caught fire and melted the metal. The vehicle then went back to the car dealers where id got it and after a couple of days they rung me saying it was my fault, i was in disbelief!!!, omg, im not a fast or dodgy driver and they said id gone over something that had sparked off and caused the fire.luckily none of us were hurt but now terrified to drive the vehicle.im hopefully going to change the car and will be writing a strong letter to complain to the boss of vauxhall

Having problems myself going for disability car turned up for test drive and did not have correct car that I wanted but was told it was simulare but the estate version went on test drive around block could not see much point in going further as was not the car I was buying I did ask if had the privacy glass on like the one I test drove I was told yes as mine was a higher elite and had everything else I asked about upon checking there brochure a few days later I could not see the mentioned privacy glass so called and was then informed no it was on the elite or anything else I asked for it to be added but was told as my car had left the factory and it would have to be done at the factory it was to late and I was due to collect the car 7 days later on the 30 September 2 days before I got a call saying there had been a factory recall because of airbag problem waited another week called to see what was happinging told could not release car as it had been recalled but unsure if needed new part or to go back was told around 3 weeks wait called back again 27 oct to be told it would be yet another 4 weeks so I have no idea what's happing or when I get my new car having been told it will now be 28 Nov asked if can cancel it as not received it on the promised date and none of the items I asked for before placing order was told if I cancel I would have to wait a further 3 months for a different car and unsure about my deposit so what can I do seems a bit far fetched this recall and 1 month later still no news on this recall of left drivers airbag if it's got to go back or have the part replaced they keep saying no reply from Vauxhall
