This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I had a 20% of coupon after donating and didn't know how to use it at the self checkout. There was only one person at the self checkouts and she had a shawl mostly covering her value village vest, and her back turned, so couldn't be identified as someone to ask. The other two employees ones was intwined with a return for 5 or more minutes, so couldn't be asked. So I walked over to the other employee past guy one and he didn't look up or say anything. There were no signs. I walked up to a lady with a display case. I realized then I was on the wrong side. I said oh sorry I am on the wrong side, and backed up several paces. The said one quick question "can I use donation coupons at the self checkout" where she snapped at me to "get back the display case is open!" I stepped another three feet back, my arm full of heavy books, "do the coupon work at the self checkouts" then she raised her voice "you need to leave NOW" and put her arm out like to push me which she couldn't because I was 8 feet away. The male employee stood there at his till still talking to the return woman. About 9 feet from the show case apparently could not hear her shout and never looked or moved to help either of us.

Then I went to the self checkout to try my luck. That went okay until shawl lady came over, because the machine timed out for me to pay while I was getting my card out. I paid and picked up the coupon to put in the trash. And shawl lady ripped it out of my hands and threw it out. I said "oh ya I was doing that wouldn't want people reusing them" but she had already walked away with her back turned. I have never in my life had worse customer service. Anywhere.

Lastly the display case design is confusing and backwards (opens on the side away from the wall). I was not the only person to go to try to talk to her on the wrong side. Though the only person yelled at. When I finally left he was still talking to the woman with the return and the second family was wandering around trying to get help with a return to no avail.

The returns go well but they do not take furniture of any kind.

Recommendation: Avoid south fraser way Value Village.
