Optimum was notified before the end of the billing cycle to end service and close the account. We followed up after the move and Optimum rep said yes, the service was already disconnected and instructed us where to turn in the equipment. Which we did. Now Optimum is saying the follow up phone call is the first notice of disconnect which fell 2 days AFTER the billing cycle. And therefore the month in advance is due. Optimum is billing for a month of service never received and has sent a $64 bill to a collection company. SCAM! They knew it had been disconnected timely. But are dishonest to get how much? $64!
Desired outcome: Cease and desist trying to collect for service NOT provided.
