I called two weeks ago and spoke with Amedisys in Goodlettsville, TN about obtaining their services through our doctor. The rep said, sure have the doc send the order. The doc did. The insurance authorized the visits and Amedisys NEVER SHOWED up nor did they call and tell us why. We did not receive a letter either. I left messages. I called the 24-hour nurse who could care less about the patient and more about office politics. Instead of picking up the phone and calling her office, she sent a snail mail KNOWING good and well that the patient's care was urgent due to it being wound care.
Now, I call the office again in Goodlettsville, TN, and was told that the Director would have to call me. Why? According to her, they declined services due to staffing issues, yet never told us! She said would have the Director call, which according to online is, Chris Gerald. Of course, as suspected, we've received no call. The doc was trying to get another HH setup ASAP since Amedisys failed and because they had not released the auth, they had trouble getting through. Still waiting for that to be taken care of. It is getting ridiculous with these HH companies who have NO ACCOUNTABILITY and for the lack of communication and services, they clearly advertise to offer. They should have NEVER sent for auth if they could not service. They need to be investigated.
Desired outcome: for Amedisys of Goodlettsville to be audited and look into the possibility of hidden discrimination for either a patient's income status or some "in-house" policy that goes against the patient's rights.
