About a week after being released from the hospital for a uterine track infection and resulting sepsis. I was contacted about a home visit. The caller called twice around 7 pm after I had gone to bed. Then called my DIL's emergency number within 30 minutes because I had not responded. She then called me. He asked about a time to visit me the next day, with her responding that I should be awake around 10:00 AM. I did not return the call, nor did my DIL. Around 10:30 the next day the caller let me know that he had contacted my DIL and she suggested this time and that he was outside my house.
I informed him that I made my appointments and that I had not made one with Amedisys. He stated that my DIL had said this time. He then asked if I would like my DIL to be removed from their contact list. While I was pointing out that I wanted everything removed from Amedisys, he hung up on me.
SInce then, I have been called twice by Amedisys - one a computer call, following up on my hospital stay - and two, another request from a person asking about making an home appointment. This person was much more polite and apologized when I told them that I was not interested in their company. In the future, I will be hanging up as soon as I hear "Amedisys".
Recommendation: As in all organizations, there are good people and others that are pushy and try to manipulate conversations, so I would caution all to confirm your desires and know what you want.
