I worked with Amedisys Home Health and would not recommend them. Management frequently micromanages, ignores standard protocols, and appears to protect favorites while other staff members are reprimanded for the same or lesser issues. This created a toxic work environment and low morale.
Clinicians are routinely overloaded with caseloads beyond what is safe for quality care. On multiple occasions, I saw assignments given without adequate time for documentation or wound care follow-up. That pressure led to missed orders, incomplete paperwork, and a sense that quantity was prioritized over patient safety.
I also witnessed mocking language about patients during case conferences and discussions where physician orders were not followed correctly. Wound care supplies were not consistently ordered per orders — often attributed to cost-cutting — which put patients at risk of poor outcomes.
If you are choosing a home health provider or considering working there, ask specific questions about staffing ratios, how they handle physician orders, and how they address complaints. Based on my experience, I would not trust patient care to this agency.
Recommendation: use another company with 5 stars
