Subject: Request for Cancellation of Credit Card and Waiver of Claimed Dues
Kindly refer to the subject cited above. It is submitted that a salesman of Silk Bank visited my office during the year 2017–18 and persuaded me to apply for a credit card, assuring that no charges would be claimed by the bank.
After receiving the card, I never activated or used it during its entire validity period. However, the bank reissued the card twice after its expiry, despite the fact that I had never requested for renewal or reissuance. No charges were claimed by the bank during the past eight years.
Recently, after the merger of Silk Bank with United Bank Limited (UBL), I have received billing statements and claims for dues for the first time. As I neither requested nor activated any of these cards, the claimed charges are unjustified.
In view of the above, it is requested that the said credit card be cancelled immediately and all undue charges be waived off. It is further requested that the billing amount may kindly be frozen until a final decision is made in this regard.
