Subject: Request to Honor Advertised Price and Correct Misleading Shed Display
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to formally complain regarding a Tuff Shed display located in the northeast section of the Home Depot parking lot at 3475 N. Salida Court, Aurora, Colorado 80011 (Store #1551), as shown in the attached photographs.
On June 6, 2026, I visited Home Depot with the intent of purchasing the Tuff Shed Model KR-600, which was prominently displayed with an advertised price of $2,127.00. When I informed a Home Depot associate that I wished to purchase the shed, the associate was unable to locate the model in Home Depot’s system and contacted Tuff Shed for assistance.
The Tuff Shed representative advised that the KR-600 model was no longer available and that I would need to purchase the KR-640 model at a higher price. I expressed my concern that Tuff Shed should either honor the advertised price of $2,127.00 or immediately remove the display and pricing information if the advertised product was no longer available. The representative stated that the display could not be removed due to contractual obligations and that the advertised price could not be honored. I informed her that I intended to file complaints with both Tuff Shed’s corporate office and the Better Business Bureau.
Prior to speaking with Juan, the Home Depot store manager, I was provided with contact information for Robert Gracias of Tuff Shed. I attempted to contact Mr. Gracias but did not receive a response. Juan subsequently contacted Mr. Gracias on my behalf and explained that I wished to purchase an 8’ x 8’ shed at the advertised price of $2,127.00.
Juan advised me that Mr. Gracias would contact me directly and further stated that the KR-600 model was still available, suggesting that the inability to locate it may have been due to a system issue. This directly contradicted the information I had previously received from the Tuff Shed representative, who stated that the model had been discontinued.
As a result, I have received conflicting information from Tuff Shed regarding the availability of the advertised product. This inconsistency has caused unnecessary confusion and has undermined my confidence in both Tuff Shed and Home Depot.
I am disappointed that Tuff Shed has refused to honor the advertised price while Home Depot continues to display pricing and product information that appears to represent a product that may not be available for purchase under the advertised terms.
Accordingly, I request that Tuff Shed and Home Depot take the following actions:
1. Honor the advertised price of $2,127.00 for an 8’ x 8’ shed comparable to the displayed KR-600 model, including the KR-640 model if it is the replacement product; and
2. Immediately remove or correct any displays, signage, advertisements, and pricing information referencing the KR-600 model and the advertised price if that product is no longer available for purchase.
Please provide a written response explaining how this matter will be resolved. Consumers should not be induced to visit a store based on product availability or pricing information that cannot be honored.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Ronald Patterson

Ronald, I genuinely appreciate how clearly and methodically you laid this out — dates, locations, names, contradictions, even the two specific requests at the end. That’s exactly how a formal complaint should be written. You’re absolutely right: displaying a discontinued model with a price they won’t honor while claiming they can’t remove the display due to contract? That’s bait‑and‑switch by neglect if not by intent. Don’t back down. Document everything, as you have. You’re not being unreasonable — you’re asking them to follow basic truth‑in‑advertising. Well done.
