Dear Thrillophilia Team ,
After multiple follow-ups, I have received an unsatisfied response from your end (by Bhavesh Thakar & Zeeshan Ahmed) regarding the excess deduction of INR 18,000 from my credit card. The reason communicated was that, during checkout, a tap in the washroom was left open, which resulted in floor damage, and hence the said amount was deducted.
I would like to clearly state that I am 100% certain that no tap was left open. I had personally checked the washroom and the room thoroughly before checking out.
Even if the hotel staff is claiming this as the reason, my concern remains the following:
1. I was not informed of any such issue or damage at the time of checkout.
2. Post my departure, the hotel failed to remove my card details from their system.
3. The amount was deducted without any prior intimation, consent, or explanation, which is highly unacceptable.
4. Any damage identified after checkout, without notifying the guest, cannot be unilaterally attributed to the guest and becomes the responsibility of the hotel management.
Therefore, I request you to kindly do one of the following at the earliest:
- Share valid proof clearly establishing that the alleged floor damage was caused due to my fault, or
- Initiate an immediate refund of INR 18,000, which was deducted without my knowledge.
Please note that this matter has already been pending for over a month, and I request an urgent resolution.
I have attached the screenshot reflecting the unauthorized deduction made by the hotel in Madrid for your reference.
Looking forward to your prompt response and resolution.
