I had my oil changed at Take 5 on June 15, and during the service the technician installed my engine air filter backwards. This caused issues that resulted in $444.20 in repair bills.
I promptly submitted my repair documentation and receipts to Take 5. Unfortunately, I spent weeks sending emails and making phone calls that were never returned. After all that, I eventually received what appeared to be an invitation to accept reimbursement for only a portion of my repair costs. Because it came unexpectedly and wasn’t accompanied by any communication from the company, I honestly thought it was spam and didn’t respond.
The most frustrating part wasn’t just the mistake—it was the lack of communication and customer service afterward. Everyone makes mistakes, but standing behind your work and keeping customers informed should be a priority. Instead, I was left chasing answers while paying for repairs that resulted from their error.
I hope Take 5 improves both its quality control and its customer service so other customers don’t have a similar experience.
