My boyfirend and I recently purchased a vacation plan from sundance after filling out a raffle ticket at a bull's game. We did indeed recieve a free cruise (3 night 4 day) with round trip airline tickets included. We haven't taken it yet b/c its valid for a year and we want to wait until next month. During our visit to the location, the employees where very nice and did not really pressure us into making a purchase. My boyfriend and I liked the idea of going anywhere in the world for four hundred dollars. Of course, you still have to buy plan tickets, food, everyday stuff, but that's with any vacation. Plus, sundace even has spots where extra activities are included with the packaging deal. We got the ten vacations for $4000 (no matter what package, each vacation is $400, initially until you talk them down). To make up some of the money (we only pay $69 per month) we advertise the excess inventories online and sell them for a little more than their actual price. We then use that money to pay off the remaining balance. The sell representative even suggested that we do so, once we told her we couldn't afford the 30 but could do 10! We are happy with our decision because we can go on a nice vacation (every week of the year if we wanted to) and have friends come along with us. If the vacation is from the excess inventory, you pay $200 dollars, regardless of # of rooms! I think that if you really enjoy vacations and have the time to go on them often/sell them/ or plan on taking them within the next 5 years, sundance is a good choice for you. And believe me, you can talk them down. One of my friends that was at that game with us talked them down to 1200 for 10 vacations! I wish I did that, lol. Its all in your self-confidence and letting them know that you aren't a fool, just like with any other sales company but especially in vacations.

O yeah, and for the record, its not a time share company, the company has won many awards, and nothing is every 100% free. If you know you can't afford their final price given, just say no.

    Most negative comments on here about Sundance are clearly written by uneducated ###s. YOU wrote YOUR phone number on an entry form and when the company that you gave your phone number to calls you you start writing in a forum that they are a rip off. Fill out form, get phone call, go to office, listen to sales pitch, get prize promised to you.

    You can tell by the posts that the people who can read and understand things are the ones with the positive comments. The ones that look like a 5 year old wrote it are the ones with the negative comments.

    It's not a scam. And if you think it is a scam you aren't much of a brainiac.

    I agree with every complaint voiced against Sundance, the company is a rip off and the Chicago bulls should allow them to use their facility to take advantage of their fans.On a scale of 10 for ethic and costumer service it's -10.I wouldn't recommend my enemy to do business with them.

    I find it incredible that people don't actively listen when spoken to? You can repeat yourself over and over again on the phone and they still don't listen.

    You are not being sold anything unless you sell yourself. You were not obligated to buy anything when you came in the office when you received the trip and we gave you the information regarding our travel services. Did we not?

    Aren't most services offered through the sales department of any company? Name a single business that doesn't. If you didn't want to be sold on our travel services for in the future...then why were you there? Did you not want to see what we had to offer?

    Have you taken the trip you received? Do you understand there is a cost to doing business and whether you like it or not Sales makes that cost feasible to generate revenue for companies to function. If you work for any Sales office. Either in retail, manufacturing etc. Without people selling stuff and services you have no work. As far as making an honest thankful now a days you have a job at all and Sundance is hiring. Why? ... because they have an aggressive Sales force that doesn't believe in Sales Territory Boundaries..just opportunities.

    The Team you so despise that Whitney is part of an army of 120 employees plus. Scams don't stick around for 20 years. They defuse and remove them self quite quickly after being exposed.

    Sundance will be here for a long time, will your job? or are you being outsourced to another country that doesn't keep their money at home.

    just simply read the fine print when you fill something out!!! if you don't want the Phone calls then dont fill out entry forms dumb dumb!!!

    I agree with the Complaint. The company is totally a scam. They could always have a future in selling used cars if the vacation industry suddenly disappears. As for Whitley's comments above, it all starts with her and her team! They are the ones that mislead the customers the most. My wife and I told we were coming to pick up our "free cruise" and to listen to the services of their travel agency so if we travel in the future we can use them. We specifically told them that we were not interested in a time share or in buying anything and we were told that we were not going to be sold anything. If that is not misrepresentation, I do not know what is. If you ever have the unfortunate opportunity to hear from this company - run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

    i am still not sure if this company is legitimated since I was only invited to the information session and decided not to go because of all these negative comments and bad past experiences. here is how they SIGN ME UP. they told me that I won a three days and two nights curise to the Bahamas from the form I filled out at the entrance in Six Flags. Then I started to believe that I won, and realized that I was told the winning prize $50, 000 cash. So I started to do some reaseach online and ask a few co-workers about this. Almost all the comments I read were negative and sounded exactly like what the sales rep said to me.

    But really, THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH!

    shortly after that, I've getting all these phone calls and emails. I highly recommend you not to attned the meeting if you are compulsive shopper. And if just out of curiosity, and you have a strong mind then feel free to go and listen to their sales pitch.


    here is the end of the story, when I finally can't handle the harassment, I decided to call and ask them to remove my phone number from the calling list. Here is what happened. they tried to convinced me to at least attend the meeting and decide from there. since I was determined and I firmly told them NO. then the sales rep became impatient and asked me what I wanted from them. So I told them to stop calling me and they hang up the phone.

    With this kind of customer service, only nice when you are buying something and lie to your face about winning the vacation. You can be the judge!!!

    Well, everyone’s first mistake seems to be thinking this is something they have "won." We, here at Sundance Vacations make it vary clear that this promotional item is NOT something you have won. So you did not in fact win it, we offer it to everyone who fills out an entry form, equal opportunity; everyone has a chance to take it. You are simply asked to visit one of our local offices for 60 minutes, no longer, this is because we have presentations every hour, on the hour between 4pm and 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and if we were to keep you longer, it would conflict with our next showing. This is not a free item. At this time, May of 2009, we are offering a 4 day, 3 night cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines to the Bahamas for two passengers leaving from Port Canaveral or Miami, Florida, your choice. This is a $1200 package that my company, Sundance Vacations, is paying for, what you are asked to pay is simply the port charges, taxes and security fees, which totals $189 in the off season and $225 in the peak season. The only thing we ask of you is the 60 minutes I mentioned earlier, if you are physically capable of sitting in a chair and listening for 60 minutes, you will leave with the 2 travel vouchers. You don't have to buy anything to receive the cruise either. You aren't even required to have anything on you to purchase anything with; you don't have to have cash, check or plastic on your person when you come in. We are also offering 2 round trip airfares, these are absolutely free, simply because we purchased overstock of them and they work with our promotional item quite well.

    My second item of discussion is the fact that if you don't want to be called by us, you simply pick up the phone and say "Please, don't call me again." Ignoring the phone calls won't do anything unless you want us to call you back tomorrow or later on that day. We have a 'DO NOT CALL' list and you will be placed on it immediately. Of course we're persistent; of course our first response will be something along the lines of "Are you sure?", or "This is a wonderful offer!” something to get you to change your mind, but that is because that is what we are paid to do. Do you understand that in our job, yes, we are paid hourly, however that doesn't pay much, we make our money by booking you and you showing up. We NEED you to come into the office because if you come and sit for the 60 minutes, we get paid for it. That's a pretty small price to pay to help someone out, don't you think. You sit, view a presentation, are informed about our company, receive a cruise and I get paid for it. You know, to become a part of this company I had to sit through the presentation too, and all I got out of it was a ham sandwich, you get a cruise.

    My third item for you is something you should think about. Now-a-days, everyone has or had or will be a victim of fraud, therefore we should all be wary of where we write our names, our numbers, our addresses, and any other confidential information we don't want others to have. When you see a contest or a give-away, you already know they are going to want your contact information, to contact you should you win the grand prize, right? You are also aware that on the back of the card you fill out there is tiny print that you should read, tiny print that is legible and is written there because you were meant to read it. If we wanted to hide it from you, it would not be on there. READ IT. In there it says that in putting your contact information on this card you are giving us the right to contact you for any reason, not only if you win the prize, but for advertising purposes as well. Hence the phone call you just received.

    Lastly, I’m just going to put in my two cents (the rest has been factual information I think you should know). Why be rude? If you get a call from me, I’m very pleasant when you pick up, why don’t you do the same. This is my job. I did not come to work today with the attitude, “well, I wonder how
    I can piss the next person off.” I came in with the same attitude we all have when we go to work… “I need to make money today.” Make my job easier, pick up the phone when it rings, listen to me talk for just a few minutes (we have this thing called ‘talk time’ and you being on the phone for an extra two or three minutes adds up as the night progresses), and tell me if you’re interested or not, consider that you spending that hour of time with us will earn you a cruise and me my dinner, my bill payments, my kids clothes and my home.

    We knew what we were getting into after we received the 'you won a Free cruise' phone call. But we still decided to listen to the hour long program and the pitch for us to buy the vacation program.

    The pitch was not hard core which we appreciated and for what it is worth, if you are avid travelers and vacation A LOT - this may be a good idea. Think of it like the Costco of Vacations. However we were not financially able to plop down money or take on more monthly payments so we politely said no to all of their offers.

    But we still were getting a free cruise - so I was excited about that. Until I get on the phone at reservation time only to find out that NOTHING is free. We were aware of the taxes and fees that we would have to pay - and that was cool. But unless you want a cabin with bunk beds, and you are OK with traveling when they tell you and you are ok with paying for a hotel the night before cruise and night after cruise returns and paying for transfers to and from port and hotel...all which adds up to almost an additional $250 pp...then this is the incentive for you.

    I ended up canceling our free voucher for a cruise knowing that I could book a cruise for less than $250 a person and fly as cheap as $100 roundtrip and PICK the dates and flights that work best for me.

    Not too mention I spent over an hour on the phone with the reservation people...25 minutes on hold waiting for a representative and another 45 minutes of them trying to get reservations.

    Bottom line- take it with a grain of salt...they will try to make it as inconvenient as possible so you will make upgrades and forget that you are slowly but surely spending almost a $800-$1000 on your so-called FREE cruise!
