Sprayberry Dental Associates (SDA)

We have been patients with Sprayberry dental associates for 23+ years, all 4 members of my family. They want to charge me for sending all 4 members of our records to our new dentist office since we have moved. According the dental insurance company we own these records. Between us and our insurance we have already paid for these records. Ridiculous they can’t be bothered to spend a few minutes and email them to a dental office. All they are going to do is destroy them anyway.

When you have Humana Dental Insurance and are covered for a cleaning and x-rays at the time of service, but 6 months later decided to change insurance plans and are then sent a bill for the x-rays, saying that since you changed insurance companies, you now owe for x-rays. If I had known that I would have to pay for x-rays I had that at the time of service was covered, just because I changed plans, I would have stayed with the plan, or never have opted to get the x-rays. Dental office refused to work with me on this, saying that I needed to take it up with Humana, not their problem. Billing office was extremely rude and unprofessional. They continued billing me, adding on interest and now threatening to turn it over to a collection agency. As I was unemployed at the time of service, and just going in for a cleaning, and covered by insurance, I never dreamed that I would later be billed for these x-rays, especially since I never even got the cleaning as the dentist said I needed a deep cleaning, even though 8 months prior, I had had a cleaning and there was no mention of needing any deep cleaning. They were pushing the deep cleaning on me, which I told them I could not pay for as I was unemployed. I had assumed that once a service was done, and you were covered at that time, then the insurance company could not go back and "un-pay" for that work, just because you chose another dental plan months later during open enrollment. You would at least expect the dental office to give me a copy of the x-rays I was being charged for or to write off this expense since it was never explained at the point of service that there was a 12 month requirement to keep the insurance plan for this to be covered, but they are unwilling to work with you at all.
