Speedway Customer Service

The customer service at the Speedway located on Rawsonville, in Belleville MI, is poor. Today I went in the young lady had a very mean look on her face that didn't change, I felt very uncomfortable, she maintained this look presenting as if she didn't want to be at work, and very unapproachable, speaking with a low monotone voice with a blank stare.

This happened on 10/03/2023 at approximately 8:10 this morning.

Most of the employees have similar demeanors, just overall rude and there is another gas station located a few feet away on the same street.

Desired outcome: Someone provides them feedback on how this effects customers no longer coming to this location.

Speedway General appearance of building and available lunch option

Hi-I work by Speedway. Myself and many other of our employees have noticed a huge change in the general appearance of the store and grounds. It took months this Spring to get the parking lot repaired. There are still holes that need to be filled. The fence by the car wash was falling over. They just fixed this now.

Inside it feels dirty and icky. There is very rarely any food on the grill, pizza or other advertised items/special in the warmer. I have noticed items are expired and told the staff. The next time I went in, the expired items were still in stock on the shelves. The coke products always seem to be out. Today was the frozen iced coffee.

There is a self-checkout, which is great because I go during lunch every day and there are long lines, but the self-checkout never works.

There is a new male manager that seems very inexperienced. He is super nice and helpful but maybe just needs some more help. Not to mention that the store in general seems understaffed. Cheri is there most mornings and she is awesome.

Also, you have homeless people living behind the fence and outside the building. That scares people off.

There is literally and Kwik Trip one block further away. I know myself and other have started going there for obvious reasons. We miss the convenience of just being able to quick run to Speedway but those days are beginning to be less and less.

Honestly when it was Super America there were no issues. I heard 7 eleven is taking over and will possibly change names soon. I certainly hope not. They were terrible when they were in MN previously.

Desired outcome: Be competitive with Kwik Trip or at least back to the way it used to be before the change to Speedway

Speedway Speedway employee fighting customer causing physical and mental injury

On September 26,2023 between 8:30pm and 9:00pm - I asked Speedway employee why she was hollowing and rude to my husband earlier in the day. After asking the employee what happened she immediately got confrontational with me – to say she will do it again. She started hollowing at me to the point that she got physical by grabbing my hand and fingers. I went to the Naval hospital emergency department on Camp Lejeune Marine Base. My diagnosis: Sprain of finger of right hand; Sprain of hand; joint pain whole arm; emotional distress. I am requesting a resolution by Speedway due to their employee attaching me. The injuries will require physical therapy.

The speedway associates also used profanity and abusive language, and defamation.

I have the hospital report and witness.

Speedway Store was open but employees saying it’s closed

I called this store 5 minutes prior to walking over and they said they closed at 11. When I arrived to the store the employees were outside smoking and said that the store was closed. When I told them I already called 5 minutes before, they said their systems are down. With the way they were outside, I could tell they just didn’t want their break to be interrupted as they changed their script from being closed to systems being down.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and for it to be confirmed that the systems were actually down during that time. I arrived at the store at 9:47 pm central time. So their systems should have been down at this time.

Speedway Manager rudeness

The manager, old lady with glasses and red hair was super rude. I used my last 10 on gas to get to work and the pump didn’t work and she said nothing she can do and said 5$ was what she could do. Whole time she was talking super rude. My husband came in asking for an explanation and she snapped on him telling him to get out of the store, he is a black man and she instantly got super rude for no reason. I have seen her in the past whiney and rude to other customers. I don’t know why she even works there if she hates everyone and her job

Speedway Dark haired Clerk

Hello,

I went to visit the location (New Alexandria, PA) of speedway this evening. As I entered the store there was a clerk sitting outside. She mumbled for me to throw my bags in the dumpster at the end of the building as she followed me in the store. I later went to purchase a drink and lottery tickets and unfortunately she waited on me. This woman seems to need some customer service training and hospitality training. Not phony but true customer service. She needs it.

Speedway Harassment by one of your employees

I miss treated, called names, attacks verbally, and physically every single time I go into the N. Main St., in Concord speedway not only do I feel as though this person should be fired, but I feel I should probably press charges on her as well which I’m gonna do at the courthouse today and if she is not fired for her behaviors I will make sure you guys lose a hell of a lot of service. She’s called me a junkie a loser a piece of [censored]. In front of other customers she tries to make sure that I cry every time I leave I don’t deserve that it’s a humane and disrespectful and I don’t act disrespectful of any sort.

Every time I go into this one store I am her [censored]. I am called names. I miss treated and kicked out for nothing. I’ve never done anything violated any type of rule at the store. It’s just because the girl knows me from high school and a she literally is judging me from my past, calling me a junkie a loser she attacked me verbally, and physically one day came right after me her manager had to hold her back as she’s calling me names and I’m crying for no reason there’s no need for none of that, I’ve been sober for 2 1/2 years. I don’t come to Concord for this reason because people judge me for my past.

Speedway Disgusting women’s restroom

Stopped for gas and restroom break. Restroom had a layer of dirt and dust on and around the sink, multiple dark stains on floor around toilet. Inside toilet bowl appeared layered with brown and yellowed streaks. Corners of sink were brown and pink. Door had thick dark gray layers on door around the handle and on the handle. Didn’t look beyond that.

Had the impression that informing the employees of the restroom’s neglected state would be fruitless, and I now question if the employees wash their hands after they use the toilet.

Don’t know the state of the men’s restroom; I didn’t use it.

Desired outcome: For employees to regularly monitor the cleanliness of PUBLIC restrooms. Also a continued educational requirement on hand hygiene, bacteria/disease and how it’s spread, etc.

Speedway - Tabasco vase pods over priced whats advertised

I live in Indianapolis Indiana the gas station Speedway I'm referring to is the 1 on 21st in Franklin the address is 8105 East 21th street or Franklin is cross street. Sit on both street. I come often to get my vuse pods generally the price rings up fine and I get a sale price when u scan my speedy card. But for seem reason last two times wrong up...

Speedway Store manager, ex employee complaint

I was an employee in Waterford for a short time. I liked working there, started part time and moved rather quickly to an assistant but with out the responsibilities of a manager. When Dee came in, right away I had an issue with someone she had come cover some hours. She arranged things to help me feel comfortable and she didn't have to. But see Dee has a problem with how she talks to people. My last day, the day I walked out was because of anxiety. I originally went out to smoke, when I walked out though I said I didn't want to be on register because I kept getting stuck while everyone would getting choose what they did. When I came back in your store manager was talking crap about me with the other employees, instead of pulling me aside and talking to me. This was about 6 or 7 months ago. From the beginning I told Dee I was dealing with some anxiety issues and doctors kept telling me, nothing was wrong with me. I just got diagnosed with a Brain tumor and Graves Disease. She caused me to quitmy job k owing I was dealing with medical issues and she wouldn't hire me back. That pretty messed up if you ask me. I have a case on Malpractice, about to be filed soon. Pretty sad you let your managers treat their employees that way.

Speedway A recent purchase

I was at the store #9168 located in gallipolis Ohio tonight. I used my cash app card to make the purchase. The amount that was due was $25.57. I only had $24 on the cash app card. I told the cashier that. He supposedly adjusted the balance. But then it still declined the purchase. So I paid in cash. But as looked on my cash app app. It showed speedway did take the $24.03. So how can we go about fixing this issue and getting my money back to my account. Because now I've paid in Total $50 just for $15 in gas. A medium coffee and four snack cakes. This isn't right. Speedway Workers foul mouth/ rude

As I made my coffee I later learn the managers son who’s name is Ryan (big guy) had a very foul mouth. I overheard him bragging about doing what ever he wants because his moms the boss. Making bets that he’d pay one employee to hit another and he’d pay them $50. Inappropriately touching the lady’s in the store made me uncomfortable . He kept making these loud screeching noises that would scare everyone in the store. The amount of profanity was unbelievable but he didn’t care. The coffee area was filthy. It looks like black mold is growing on everything. I will not be returning to this store again if he’s going to be working, I also will be calling the health department regarding the amount of filth in the coffee area and I’m sure I saw mouse dropping disgusting.

I came in to get a lottery ticket and there was someone in line that was talking a minute so I stepped away to grab a couple slushes. Come back another extended wait behind one customer but that’sok, done the best they could at the counter. Well reason I got the slushes was for change for the lottery machine which was then occupied by a bearded gentleman...

Speedway Cigarettes

Went to speedway on Broadview Rd zip 44109 to buy cigarettes yesterday Sept 5 2023. Big sign out front that states Any type of Marlboro area 5.64 with a purchase of two pks. Bought 2 Marlboro menthol 100 and was charged 18.23. When I questioned the cashier's they said the only ones at that price were the Marlboro blacks. I told them they said any type they argued withr and would not honor that price. I normally don't smoke these cigarettes but bought them because of the price. I would like something done about this as it is basically false advertising. If they are not gonna honor the price then there shouldn't be a sign in all the windows stating that. Speedway Always out of stock!

I have been purchasing Redline drinks at speedway for years and all the sudden they are never in stock, it’s not just this brand either but all of there shelves are empty, dirty etc but they will have boxes everywhere unopened just seems like since 7 eleven took over it sucks! I hear employees say they drink them also so I can’t help and wonder if there being snatched up by the employees making them unavailable to customers!

Desired outcome: Just have things available in stock or atleast let customers know if they won’t be restocking the item

Speedway Manager abuse

Stopped in at the 5495 Wilmington Pike Drive location. As I was looking for Coffee Mate, there was a yelling incident between the Manager and an employee in front of about 15 customers. I mentioned to the Manager that no one wants to hear this conflict. The Manager immediately yelled at me and ordered me out of the store. As I asked why, he yelled that he would call the police. I, being shocked by his behavior, said I would call.

The police arrived and told me since he did not physically assault me, they could only talk to him about his actions. I was contacted by Centerville Police and told he admitted to being frustrated and could have handled it better.

I was then told that the Manager had banned me from that Speedway Location. I have never heard of a victim of verbal abuse being treated this way.

I would appreciate you addressing this issue. I was never aggressive or threatening to the Manager, In fact, I am the victim.

Please advise on your actions of this incident. I'm trying to avoid legal counsel if necessary however my trauma of his behavior has left me sleepless and extremely frightened of social contact. The Manager needs extensive training on anger management.

I was on your side until I got to the part where you think you can use this minor, petty incident as some type of financial windfall. Let me be the first to tell you, you will not succeed and you will be hard-pressed to find an attorney who wants to deal with this silliness, unless you have really deep pockets.

Speedway parking

This is the only speedway store where the employees are allowed to park their cars while working right at the gas stations blocking the flow of traffic sometimes even two employees blocking two stations at the same time. The stores is at Alameda and Mccarthy in el paso texas. . I have complained a few times before but you do not do nothing.. What else you wante me to specify I have been very clear period

Speedway Manager behavior

Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 6:00pm, I entered the store to buy Coffee Mate when an employee was making a scene with another person. I made a comment about customers not wanting to hear that kind of commotion and the employee approached me yelling for me to get out. When I asked why, he threatened to call police. I immediately left and called the police myself. Never have I ever been verbally accosted in a public place.

The police arrive and I filed a report. They told me they would speak with him but since I wasn't physically assaulted they could not do anything.

It is up to Speedway to do better mental evaluations on employees. This manager was a nut job.

Speedway debit card overcharge

I was charged $126 for $50 in gas, and when I called customer service I was hung up on twice, then no one would answer my calls! I am IRATE! I have been a loyal Speedway customer for years, and was never told about a preauthorization charge! And customer service just hung up on me AGAIN! I will definitely get ahold of the Better Business Bureau ASAP!

Desired outcome: I should have been told about a preauth charge BEFORE I PUMPED MY GAS and was charged $126! I needed that money tooo pay a bill TODAY! NOT IN 48 HOURS!
