Sony India Defective music system was delivered and not replaced afterwards

Hi,

Let me first introduce myself. I am Dr Sunil Khijwania, Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.

I purchased Sony DVD music system (Model number MHCRV 88D, SL number 3161741) worth Indian rupees 23, 200 on 09/10/2005 from Ms Bharali Brothers Pvt Ltd, Guwahati, Assam, INDIA. They delivered this item at home. I asked them to check the system. As they were not having any DVD along with them, they said that they would be back next very day with DVD and check the system. They visited me after a few days with DVD and checked the system only to learn that system was not playing DVD properly. It was playing it bit by bit with a delay in between. They confirmed the problem and said that they will report to the owner (Mr Arpan Bharali) of Ms Bharali Brothers Pvt Ltd. I asked them that I do not want defected system and you please replace this one with another one, which is working properly. This matter was reported to Mr Arpan Bharali (son of the owner of the showroom and showroom in-charge that time).

Mr Arpan Bharali, from whom I bought this system, said that he needed to complete some formalities before replacing the system. He said that SONY engineer from SONY Service Center, Guwahati will visit me and check the system in order to get it replaced. Then SONY engineer visited my house and opened the DVD music system. He checked the system and observed the same problem while playing DVD. He reported this matter to Mr Arpan Bharali. Afterwards, Mr Arpan Bharali agreed to replace the system. He said that he has already taken a replacement for my system and would send the new one along with refrigerator (LG make) I bought from them (which was also defective and needed to be replaced).

Getting the same refrigerator model took lot of time. However I was relaxed for my SONY DVD music system, as Mr Bharali has already told me that they have a new replacement system for me. In the mean time, the main owner and father of Mr Arpan Bharali, Mr Nayan Bharali, having some problem with his son Mr Arpan Bharali (who was the showroom in-charge till then) replaced him with his elder son Mr Alloy Bharali. Mr Alloy Bharali now took the charge of the their shop. When I contacted him, he denied for the replacement of my music system. It made me very upset. He said that he could only repair the system. I said, I bought a brand new system, why should I accept refurbished one or the one, which had problem since beginning? But he did not listen to me. I made so many calls to him and visited many of the times to explain him the entire situation (it was very painful to me), I even talked to his father and the main owner Mr Nayan Bharali also regarding this mater and requested them to talk to his younger son and previously in-charge of their shop, Mr Arpan Bharali, to get the whole idea about my case. Both refused to even listen me straightforwardly or to talk to Mr Arpan Bharali; and started behaving very rudely. This all further took a lot of time (over the year). I was having no option to return the SONY DVD music system to him.

On 01.03.07, they took the SONY DVD music system from my house to repair and fix the problem, which I never agreed in principle. Around 3 months after they did send the system to me saying that now system works properly as all the problems are fixed. Their own staff, who came to deliver the system to my home, when checked the system in front of me, found that the problem still remained the same. I said to his staff that you better take this system back to Mr Bharali and tell them to replace it with new un-defected one. Since then I made numerous calls (in hundreds or more than that) and visited numerous times to their showroom (it is worth to mention that my institute, IIT, is located around 35 km away from Mr Bharali’s showroom), but no result. They always said that they had sent the system to SONY service center in Guwahati and the problem is being fixed. Finally once again Mr Alloy Bharali, one fine day, sent the system back to my home with his staff and told me that system is playing DVD properly and there is no problem. However, once again, when their staff checked the system even with so many DVDs, the problem was still the same, which was there since beginning. He took the system back to their showroom.

Again started my mental/physical harassment by this vendor (Ms Bharaly Brothers Pvt Ltd). I made numerous visits, which was very very difficult in the light of my academic profession commitments and the distance needed to cover to reach to their showroom from my institute. I also made countless calls to them for my system, but all in vain. At the end when I visited last year (07) in December to their showroom, I met to senior Bharali (Mr Nayan Bharali, main owner of the showroom) and virtually pleaded him to look into my case, talk to his younger son Mr Arpan Bharali to understand the whole issue. He then promised me that he will personally look into this matter and asked me to give him a week time. After 2 weeks when I visited him, he spoke to me very rudely and told me that do not approach me for this matter any more, talk to my elder son Mr Alloy Bharali. I felt very bad and humiliated. Having no option, I spoke to his elder son Mr Alloy Bharali. To my surprise he started talking to me that “I am doing my best and putting money from my pocket to get your system repaired”. I said, you need not to put money from your pocket but to replace the system. But he did not agree to me and insisted to repair the system. Once again, this resulted in many calls from my side and visit to their showroom. On one such visit to their showroom by me, he again said that the system is fixed and I am going to deliver it at your home. I said you bring it in your showroom from SONY service center and check it here in front of me. I waited till the system was brought from service center to his showroom. His staff checked the system in front of him as well as me, the problem remained the same as in beginning. System was not playing DVD properly; it was playing it bit by bit with a delay in between. I got very upset and asked him that this is a big harassment-mental as well as physical. The purpose I bought the system is lost now. Do replace this system with a new one immediately, which is having no defects otherwise I need to look for some other option. But still, no result from their side. Since then, the system is with them.

Please do understand the agony, frustration and harassment I have gone since the date of purchase (09/10/05) by the hand of Bharali Brothers, a SONY product dealer. This is now almost 3 years. I shall request you to penalize Bharali Brothers Pvt Ltd from your side and do snatch the dealership of your company items. Further do replace the system to me at the earliest. I have all the proofs with me.

I fully agree with Dr. Sunil. No product can be considered as good good unless fully supported with quality after sales services, which is reasonably poor in case of SONY products in our country.
"It takes hour to get a Customer but takes only a second to lose" .

I also experiencing a horrifying experience on Sony Hi-Fi Music system. They know all the tricks to misguide the customer with wrong promises on their products.

Sony India Poor sound quality

I purchased a sound system model no. MHC-GNZ888D of sony brand which is known for customer satisfaction beyond expectations. But it seems that company is more flexible to profit orientation than customer satisfaction. The sound quality is very poor in instrumental or metallic sound. Now, I want either replacement of this model with superior models on payment of difference amount or attach extra speakers to provide the required sound effect if not free then on payment. If company fails to resolve my problem, it will lose its goodwill for bona fide customers like me & so on. If company rules & regulations do not allow this, please rectify it for your goodwill of customer satisfaction orientation beyond expectations. Hoping positively.

if you dont like sony then dont buy it...i have been using sony since i started listening music may be more than 10 years..and till now i have no isuues with sony..let me tell u no one makes sound like a sony does..i am thinking its you who is a problem here...as far as product service and customer satisfaction is...they do a wonderfull job...i was planning to buy a sub and mailed sony for some info..the next day i got a call and the CCE made sure all my doughts were cleared...may be you should know how to use things...

Hi,
I do not know if any one ever read this complaints or comment inspite of writing twice regarding problem with my home theatre and your engineers no one had ever followed up. I have home theatre DAV120K intially i got error pushpower protector and i call your customer service engineer came and he said problem with the IC or AC cheap and they have to replace and charged me good RS. 3500. When they delivered it after a repair still i was having a problem my speakers were going out rather front speaker and center speaker were not working. So i called your engineer who came and said there is problme with my wiring which i got it checked with 2 separate electrician who said no problem with the wiring so i called your engineer again who than said it is problem with the system IC OR AC cheap again he took the system. After he delivered the system we got it checked in front of your engineer and just because your engineer didn't repair the IC or AC problem my woofer got affected and now ur engineer is telling me to replace the woofer cost me RS. 5000/-. Your engineers are solely responsible for the this as they did not repair the system properly my woofer and center speaker got affected and are not working properly now. And mind you that my system is just 1 year old. Intially i use to promote sony to all my family and friends now I DON'T THINK SO WOULD EVER DO THAT MISTAKE. And when ever call your customer service your engineers or managers are list bother. And i want a replacement of the woofer and center speaker without any extra cost. It is just because you did not hired a good enginner to take care of the product why should i pay for there mistake. Sony being such a big brand and this product and service don't seems to be a good picture

Sony India No online registration for cameras!

Hi,

I two weeks back i purchased sony DSC W80 digital camera. When i tried to register my product online http://sony.co.in or any sony domain, observed that for other than india, all countries have provision for online registration but not products bought in india why?

Its nothing but negligence of sony towards indian consumers?

Hi, My Vaio Laptop often freezes.When i serviced it they said me that is an OS issue and made a Factory OS Install.Then the Laptop works fine for 2 months and then the same problem arises. They don't listen to my comments . Just simply say that is a Operating system issue.

I had purchased a Sony Blue Ray on 08-09-2010 with model No: HBD E-870 and with serial No: 3351754 as your dealer in Changanacherry M/s Bluemoon highly recommends abut this product. As one of his regular customer I had taken your product but on 5-3-2012 the center speaker (model no: SSCTB101 and serial no: 0006501) was not working and registered complaint with your service center in Thiruvalla. After several phone calls and service center visits I got a new speaker (model no: SSCTB101 and serial no: 0015214) on [protected] and charged Rs. 1450/- with bill No: 3385. Again on [protected] the same complaint again happened with the center speaker. I have given complaint on [protected] (complaint no: 8395). Mr. Krishnan Unni your service in charge of Thiruvalla service centre spoke to me very badly and he says that the complaint happened because I have used the home theatre with 95% of sound and asked very unnecessary questions. I already met your retailer M/S Bluemoon and explained him about the service centre dealings to customers. As the effort from the retailers side one person Mr. Arun visited my home and taken photographs of the blueray and said he will intimate me after a week.

Hi,
I Strongly support the comment of my fellow customer of SONY Cameras.
Even I purchased a SONY CYBERSHOT DSC T99 (14.1MP)on and tried to register my product as i usually do for every purchased product.
But I was shocked to find no provision for product registration in SONY India domain. For a Brand like SONY, this i feel is a severe issue in terms of Customer Handling, and should be actioned seriously as early as possible, so that we, in India can retain our trust and confidence in SONY products.

Yesterday (i.e. on 22/01/11) i purchased Handycam (HDR-XR550E) & for its registration when visited the sony product registration portal, it was found that INDIA is not listed for registration ! Just shocked ! Is this a kind of service sony provides for Indian customers?

This really is shocking. Even i was surprised to see that there is no provision on Sony India Website for registering the products. I recently purchased DCR SR68E and wanted to register it. But then came to know that they donot have registration facility for India.

Yes there is no provision for product registration. I purchased a Digital Cam DSC W-180 series last week (July 2009 ) and tried to register the same in SONY INDIA.

Sony India Poor service!

I am having a SONY cam coder DCR-HC42E . I was facing a problem with its LCD display.I took this to one of SONY service center. They charged me 1915 rupees for this. Service charge itself was 1000 rupees. But What I want to mention here is the attitude of the customer support executives there. They were not even ready to listen to me . Very bad customer support. I was having slight addiction to SONY brand. Almost all my electronic goods are SONY. But this is the first time I am going to a direct sony service center. This experience forced me to rethink about my selection of electronic good brand.

I am having a hell of a time with these service people right now. I have given a music system to be serviced and received a call about more than a week ago that it is serviced and will be delivered on 24th. I waited but no one came. I called in the evening they told me somebody will surely come. I called on saturday (25th) on the status and was told it will surely be delivered on Sunday, but again no one visited. Its 1st October today and I am still waiting.

BEWARE OF SONY
I purchased one DVD MODEL MHCGNZ 333 D/CE 12 SERIAL NO. 6110429 in Oct.2007 thinking it as a good quality product brand.I was given three service coupon alongwih warranty coupon.. The service person for demo. came after my request on helpine was made and not on their own as is practice with other cos. Further no one came for service although three service coupons were given at the time of sales .Now, my Dvd had some problem almost after expiry of warranty period( quiet strange ) .On contacting helpline i was given tel no. of service centre M/S Plasma vision Mumbai.I requested them to send service engineer .One engineer came to my home and said that as the lens of system has to be cleaned, it has to be taken to service centre. It looked that the man was not competent and sure about the problem .It is really a shock and bad experience to face with a SONY brand.Further i sent one e-mail to customer service dept. sony india on23/02/2009 about their poor quality and after sales service. The streotyped reply without any solution to my problemwas received after five days THAT TOO AFTER repeated telephonic reminders on their help line .they provide horrible sales service but charge the maximum compared to any other co.

Leave the service guys alone for a second. take a look at the attitude of the real 'sony' guys at the call center. when my local sony service guy suggested that i pay Rs 2000/+ for a repair on a dvd player that currently costs 2600/-, naturally i reacted and called up the toll free number. without any emotion the person who attended the call suggested that i kick the dvd player off into trash because the sum of the parts do not necessarily total up to the cost of the player. it could be atleast 5 times more! so in short if one purchases a sony product in the future and it konks off, sony suggests that you dump it and purchase another one, because its much cheaper. a CRT Tv costs approx 9 grands, but if your pic tube misbehaves you are in for a real shock. the cost could be twice the amount of a brand new piece!

it is a complaint of your bad service regarding TV remote RM-W104. We had a problem with program key of above remote. So we had visited your service center at sec-27, noida, on 15.06.08, but instead of repaire it they made the rempte totally dumb. Now it is not working at all. We are ready to bye a new one but it not was available in their stock. So we are waiting to bye it, almost one week has completed but it is not available yet. They did not provide the substitute of it. so pls resolve our complaint ASAP

Sony India Bad service and customer harassment

We purchased a sony cyber shot camara for our corporate purpose. Model number DSC-W5, date of purchase 29/10/2005. Recently the battery cover has got damaged. We approached a nearby sony authorized service centre ACE ELECTRONICS SERVICES, J-3/7, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi - 110027. Firstly, the manager Mr. Swaroop started claiming that the warranty no more stands as the authentication number from the camara is missing though had the warranty card and original bill with us. We finally agreed to pay the actual without warranty. They made a condition after giving the estimated amount, that we have to pay 500 Rs. if we do not get the job done. They gave us 7 days period for he completion of the job. It was 12 days and the job was not done. They said they do not have the cosmetic part and they have to get it from Singapore, so we finally requested them to give us the camara for 2 days as we had some events in our store. For that they charged us 1000 Rs. for taking away our own camara and gave no receipts. Now we do not have any clues that when we shall be getting the parts replaced. Over all in this bad experience we somehow developed a bad taste for such a big brand. We do lot of events for Sony also as we displayed sony play station and many other things. The total team members are absolutely rude and illmannered in that particular location. we need a valuable justification from your end. The owner Mr. Manish is ignoring our calls and the lady over there Ms. Harpreet Kaur is very rude. As a loyal customer we are unable to take this.

i purchased a sony viao ...model no-: VGN-CR35G/L serial no-:7001197
ii was nt starting...so i gavve it to customer care...RAipur Chhatishgarh INDIA...the person told me tht i have a defect in mother board due to which i hav to change it...and he gave me a aprrox bill of Rs18500/-
i told him that i don't to get it repaird frm your customer care..and gave it to some other person and he din't charged me any amt nd told me tht u hav no problem in your viao laptop...so i just want the sony india that this type of harrasment izz very bad for the company...charging such a huge amt..is nt good for your goodwill plzz seee to in...thank you...

We purchased a sony cyber shot camara for our corporate purpose. Model number DSC-W120, date of purchase 22/12/2008. The Same Day we found the dead pixel on LCD Screen. We approached a nearby sony authorized service centre SONY INDIA PVT LTD. # 768, 100ft Road Indiara Nagar Bangalore. On 27th of Dec 2008 We took it to service for replacement Log Information No [protected]. Hardly used for 1 hour Firstly, the manager Mr. Dilip started claiming that the warranty no more stands as the Dead Pixel we will service the camera . A camera which you bought and not used for 1 hour and service guys says that we will open it and service and give you the same how will you feel after paying a huge money on Rs 10, 000 that to a branded product like sony with the company manufactureing defect. If that was a case we can buy a local camera from market at least we get exchange. Over all in this bad experience we somehow developed a bad taste for such a big brand. We requested them for replacing the camera because it was new and hardly used it they refused saying that noooooooooooooo we can’t they asked me to speak to delhi call centre which I did Mrs Priyanka from delhi call centre promised sir I will give you a call till dated no body respond to my calls and no one is giving proper response. So I decided not to buy any sony product and inform all my colleagues friends not to buy sony any more. It’s a Waste brand its my personal request to all those who are reading don’t buy any sony product the company is not supportive after sales. The total team members are absolutely rude and illmannered in that particular location. we need a valuable justification from your end

i also feel similar problem with the service of SONY SERVICE CENTER, GHAZIABAD. my handycam DCR HC 42E have a very small problem of display. I was told at their service center that it is a small problem, we will fix it today, you can collect it in evening, we will inform you. In evening they call me and tell me that some part is not available, you will be informed and u can take it in two days. After four days i contact there, then they replied that it is not done yet, wait for one more day.
i have to go for a tour and my tickets are also reserved. What i should do; either i should cancel the reservation or forget about using the handycam in tour.
This type of bad service is common with all sony service centers, one must not trust the big brand names and big promises like SONY.
It is really very irratating and panic that you spend thousands INR for handycam and dont use it when the time comes.

I am facing a similar problem with the Bangalore service center in Jayanagar. The worst part is I have paid the money for the repair of the lens of my Sony cybershot W5 and by the time i got it home it stuck again and I gave it back and am still to hear from them since 26 April. I have contacted Sony India and been assured they will call back but to no avail.

Sony India Defective products and bad customer service

I bought a sony hi fi music system MHC GNZ88D in the month of November 2005. After exactly a year, the system DVD stops functioning. When i tried to log a complain, the ph # provided to me were in correct. Even i send a mail to Sony India but there also no response. It is really pathetic that a company like Sony is showing this kind of disregard to customers. I feel like one who has been cheated and then humiliated. I just want to brought it the notice of general public and sony officials (If they really bother to go thru this) that this kind of practice will not lead them to a leadership position. Making jazzy punchlines and mottos are irrelevant unless you really develop the culture to taking care to your customers.

When I presented my SBI Credit card it was rejected saying REFER TO ISSUER. i AM USING THE CARD FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS AND ALL PAYMENT OF DUES WERE MADE BEFORE THE DUE DATES.

WE ARE ONE OF THE FAN OF SONY SPECIALLY VIDEO CAMERA AND TV'S, WE BOUGHT A TV MODEL KLV-26T 400A AFTER PURCHASED THE PROBLEM STARTS IN VIDEO, ONE LINE STARTS FROM THE BOTTOM WILL COME UP TILL 1/4 TH PART OF TV AND PARTICULAR THAT PART FORM BOTTOM WILL BECAME DARK.

WHEN FIRST TIME THE SERVICE PROVIDER CAME CHARGES RS.3500/- AND ASSURED NOW ITS PERFECT, AGAIN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED, SERVICE CENTER PEOPLE CAME ATTEND KEPT TV FOR 6-7 DAYS AND ASSURED THE SAME.
YESTERDAY AGAIN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED, GUY FORM SERVICE SAME SAW GAVE ASSURANCE BUT STILL WE ARE WAITING FOR THAT ENGINEER.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR POSITIVE REPLY AND HELP US TO SOLVE OUR PORTABLE.

I've purchased Sony LCD 32". But it has problem in AV. in red AV when connected to audio no sound observed in LCD.
THis is not problem of wire. this is problem in LCD and this complent was logged to costomer care at least 5 times but no reply received from them.
I'm not at all happy with service of Sony AND I LOST FAITH ON SONY PRODUCT

SONY SERVICE CENTRE IN CHROMPET (CHENNAI) WORST!

This is the first time i have seen the worst sony service centre in chennai (Chrompet). There main aim is to charge huge money and they wont deliever in the given time... if we call the service centre also they will tell engineers are busy ... but they wont come... as of experience bcz dont give any product to sony serivce centre in chennai chrompet.. For this you can buy new company product... NO CUSTOMER SATISFICATION NO PUNCTUALITIES

i have a sony cybershot...

its just been an year and in that 1 year for 6 months its been with the INEFFICIENT sony service centre...

first its USB connector malfunctions...then i gave it for repairing...it came back after 2 months

second its flash stops working...again gave it for repairing...within warranty they charged me 2000rs for this...

third again flash stops working...now its again gone

it was to come back in a day or two...its been 2 weeks again now...fell like gettin myself a new camera...NEVER USING SONY AGAIN...

advice all u ppl 2 do d same...sony is d worst company...it hardly bothers about its customers n their inconvinience...

ctually I have got finaced A bajaj XCD 135 from BAFL, , Kanpur (U.P) & the vehicle was picked from Authorized Dealer of Bajaj Society Motors, Mc-Roberts Ganj, KAnpur .After 20 days or 1 Month From the date of purchase the vehicle is making problem & after regular follow up for the problem at the workshop it was not completely rectified till date.Now they are saying that for these problems, it will be chargeable.
Do you think, there is no feaseability in case that if any problem is regularly noted but no proper solution is provided.In this case I will not be able to pay the emi's .This is now possible for me to pay the emi in these circumtances.

Would someone pay service / repair charge of Rs.4500 for a Rs.6900 product after 2 yrs of purchase/depreciation and that too from a so called good branch SONY for a sparingly used product? Sony is the worst and they DONOT care for the customers. Sony Electronics are USE AND THROW TYPES.. DONOT RELY ON SONY PRODUCTS IN INDIA.. THEY ARE THE WORST...

Here is my story and there is no ultimate response from Sony now. Mr. Subhashis is turning to be unheard and there is no escalation mechanism. I will for sure take this whatever heights I could and ensure everyone in India know about sony service pricing strategy and think twice before buying any Sony product. I am Prakash, Sony was one of my favorite brand until off late I realized it NOT worth it., wherever I see a sony hoarding or a Sony outlet, I feel it’s a 0% customer friendly brand. And in India you damage the brand name by providing the worst customer support..

It took 6-7 times calling, of 5-10 minutes each to reach Mrs. Sharon Maria with regards to my issue. Since no one understood the problem. And Mrs. Sharon promised to call back and never did; finally I have to call here twice or thrice to reach her.

Alright getting back to the problem:

I bought a Sony micro-hi-fi system in Feb 2007 and it stopped playing the CD. The unit is very sparingly used by my parents. I gifted them a sony hi-fi because I thought its durable then any other brand, BUT any other brands are working fine which is much cheaper than sony.

Now the cost of repair was quoted as Rs.4242, but orally at the service center it was mentioned as 4700 odd first.
The cost of system is 6900, do you think any customer would like to spend 80% of money for repairing a unit after its depreciation? What is the justice given to the customers? After further talks I was given a quote of 3215.25 again that is 50% cost of the unit. I cannot afford more than Rs.500 for this unit.

I had a doubt on the Madurai Service center about its quote, quality of service, trust and reliability, so thought would give it in Bangalore, but the review shows Bangalore service center’s are worst than Madurai.

Please let me know what best you could do on my micro-hi-fi system, I cannot afford the price you have quoted.

So feel free to suggest should I throw away the system since your repair cost is too much and unreasonable? Or should all the customers of sony be aware of your post sales service so that they take the call on taking up the risk of buying sony products?

I bought a new phone Sony Ericsson T715 and the issue which it has was that the camera would not take clear picture and no matter how still you try to be still the picture would be blurr and hence i went to the service center and told them about the issue they said that it wll be like this since it is a new phone and it can not have any issues and they said that the best they can do is that they can update the software, they did not give me any other options so i said ok and gave them the handset and i waited for 2 hours and them to update the software and then i checked it again the quality was the same it will still giving blurr pictures.
When i reached home i fould out that the service center people had damaged the hand set and now other issues had started like noise from the speaker, the youtube video would not play anymore, the mp4 videos would become mute for 10-15 seconds, you could not cancel the playing song and there was clicking noise comming from the handset. I wernt to the service center in Chandigarh again and this time they said that they can not do anything else for me and if i want i could speak with their manager.
I spoke with their maanager and explained him the issue he said that their technicians are experienced people and whatever they are saying is right and the handset is ok and regarding the youtube i need to speak with the Airtel customer care and so they did not provide me any kind of support. I even explained him that it was working fine before i gave the handset to their technicians he still did not agree andgave the same answer to speak with the Airtel customer care since it is a sim problem.
I spoke with the customer care people and they said that everything is fine from their end so i tried to use the sim on my friends handset on which everything worked fine and the youtube video started playing normally. So since i knew i would not get any help from the Chabdigarh service center i took the handset to sony service center Dehradun. And i explained the issues to the service center people agaion and they said that no problem and that they will fix the issue i two hours by updating the software, i explained them that the software was updated previously by the Chandigarh people but they still insisted that that will help so i gave the handset to them hoping for it to get fixed.
I came to them after 2 hours i checked the phone and found out that none of the issue were resolved and hence the service center people said that they will send the handset to the company it self to repair it it will take 10-15 days to fix the handset and hence i waited for 15 days and when i came to collect the handset they said that the motherboard has been replaced for the handset and so i checked it again and found out that none of the issue were taken care off and so i called the customer care of sony and informed them that the issues are not getting fixed they customer care rep said that submit the handset again and they will check it again i told them that the handset was with them for 21 days and still it was not fixed and so they should replace the handset the rep said that i can raise a complaint for replacement after calling back and after re-submitting the handset. I re-submitted the handset and called to raise the compaint for replacement the company people said that that it will take 2-3 business days for them to forward the request to the concerned departyment.
Then after 2 weeks i got a call from sony saying that the handset has been repaired and i can collect it from the service center i told them that the service center people do not agree to the issues which i am facing and so what should i do they said that they will check and call me back then again after 2-3 weeks i get a call saying that the youtube issue is resolved and i can collect the handset i told them again that there are other issues which have not been resolved so they said we will call you in 2-3 days after reviewing it.
And i am still waiting for them to call me and nothing seems to be working. Please suggest me something. My email is sumeet_77shah@yahoo.com. Please help.

sony lcd bought jan, 08, such a problem arises because of normal usage, my faith over sony brand is in stack. kindly rectify the defects without charging any amount from me. kindly advise your service center to rectify it.

sony brand name is fraud on consumers. so far i bought 5 items, all except nothing is good. so called quality is a word to cheat indian consumers. buy sony, if you are having black money.

Sony India Poor Service (Noida Service Center)

Hi , This is for your information. I have purchase Handy Cam DCR-HC40E from Sony world Noida in 2004 for 40K and till date my Handy Cam is not working properly even I have given to Service Center Noida, twice. This is under Warranty so they have not charged any amount, but I am not happy with the services they have provided, same problem of recording I am facing again and again. Don't buy Sony products!

Hi, This is for your information. I have Complain to Varanasi Service Centre of Sony TV on 24.01.2011 vide Complaint No. 6816121 and till date no action has been taken from your side. I also sent so many mails to you vide confirmation no. 6816705 & 6867702 but so far no reply from Sony Company. This is very poor service of SONY TV after sale and Customer are suffering but I am not happy with the services. Don't buy Sony products!

Sony is really proving to b bad service provider.I bought sony vaio for rs 55000 n its been to service center twice and its nt evn 1 yr since i purchased it.Service center people never give a satisfactory answer n jus reapair it everytym.
Seriously, sony products of high value shouldnt be purchased cz thy wont satisfy what you demand for.

Sony products has very bad software. I am having bad exprience with sony Music system (Hi-Fi) System and Digital camera. Both has software problem.
It is not suggested to buy a sony product with such a high cost.

I agree with all. Sony has a pathetic customer service. I doubt they have any. I registered a complaint 10 days back with the Ghaziabad service center. The Engineer came and checked the set and told that it needs to be taken to the service center. I have made dozens of calls to the service center to come and pick up the set but they don't seem to have enough time. At times, their delivery van has gone for servicing, at times the staff is on leave...some days they do not have enough time. It is really RIDICULOUS. We buy Sony products at a high price because we ASSUME that it is a big name. But this has really come as a shock. Why do we buy sony products when they can't provide good service? SHAME ON SONY...CHI CHI

Sony India Non-functioning DVD system

Ref: Complaint was registered with Public Relation Officer, Customer Care Center, Sony India Private Ltd., Pune on 8th Dec. 06

We have purchased a system made of Sony – Model No. MHC-GNZ88D/CE12 Sr. No. 6102835 on 27th October, 2006 through Darshan Electronics, Pune. When the system was installed on 27th Oct, the system was not functioning at all and on the next day i.e on 28th Oct. they replaced with another system.

This is to make it your kind notice that, the same system stopped functioning on 7th Nov. and we registered a complaint with Sony Customer Care Center (Complaint no. 1769-162) on the 7th Nov. itself. After making several reminders and follow-up, the service engineer attended our complaint on 13th October.

Now the system again stopped functioning with the same problem from 4th Dec. and we launched a complaint with your Customer Care Center [protected]) on 5th Dec., and on the 8th Dec. they came to take the system back for repairing at the service center, which I told them not to be repaired, but replace this problematic system with new one. However, the person from your customer care center refused our request.

I would like to request you once again, please replace this problematic system with new system or give back our money, which we paid for buying this system.

I have bought a Pen drive of Sony Model Number : USM8GN on 11-11-2010 in Hanamakonda at Hitesh Electronics and found that the Slider which locks is not working properly. I went to the Sony showroom after one week then he asked to visit Sony Service. I visited Sony Service Centre, Nakkalakutta, Hanamakonda. He refused first and when i asked seriously he launched the service log : [protected] and asked me to meet after one week. He called me after one week and asked me to take the pendrive. I found that it was not yet solved my problem. When i enquired there was no proper response from them. They say to use as it is. I found that it is one of the worst Sony Service Centre in Hanamakonda. I decided to launch the complaint and doing now here. I bought a SONY DVD Hi-FI Audio System MHC-GNZ88D s/n 6108464 from Sony World, Noida, U.P, India on 12-04-07. Within a couple of months, it stopped playing DVD's. The system was under warranty and I gave this set for repairs at NRI Electronics Noida, which is a Sony authorized service centre. I was communicated that the motherboard had problems and will be replaced. It took them one and half months to replace the motherboard and another 2 weeks to make it region free.

Once it was back from the service center, it started playing DVD's but the response was very sluggish, it took lot of time to load the DVD's and started skipping tracks.

After that, I did not use this system for six months as I was out of town.

Once I was back and started the system, the DVD became unresponsive.
I called customer care and they told me to give the system to NRI electronics, so that NRI can send the set to Mathura Road, which is the Head Office in North India.

I gave the system to NRI electronics on 04-Oct-08 with clear instructions that this system has to be sent to the head office and not repaired. The customer care exec also called NRI with the same instructions.

On 05-Oct-08, I got a call from NRI electronics that the system is fixed.
They informed me that the Optical Lens was weak but in working condition, and I can take the delivery of the system.

My issues are as follows:
1. Why did NRI electronics repair the system, when they had to deliver this to the head office? (Maybe they replaced the lens in the last service and are now scared that the main service station will detect this).
2. How can the optical lens go weak without any usage?
3. What are the chances that other parts in the system have not been replaced by NRI electronics? Does Sony India conduct audits?

Hi this karthick purchased Sony DVD player on last 6 months back searl no.ns67p/smsp6 serial there was problem. The system is not recognising DVD itself. We are not sure what to do. We do not have confidence with the service station and Sony products. We have decided not to buy any Sony Products in the future. We could have bought a new DVD system instead of spending on the Service.
