SmartStyle appointments

My hair stylist is unfortunately at Smart Styles in New Bern, N.C. She just relocated there a few months ago. I called there to make an appointment and the girl on the other end told me that they don't make appointments anymore by phone and that you have to download an app to make an appointment. I was like WHAT?! That is rediculous for those of us that don't have access to apps. My stylist comes in at 2:00 today; therefore, I told the girl I would be there at 2:00. She told me to come at 3:00 just to make sure. I was like what the heck?!?! So I downloaded your stupid app on my computer once I got home and guess what? It doesn't schedule appointments! No wonder so many people complain about this salon!

SmartStyle color/foil highlights/ additional color/ hair cut

I provided a picture to the stylist of the color I wanted. The color I received was many shades darker than I requested. I kept telling the stylist it was too dark. She said, "You are just in shock. It will wash out in a few days." This is not an acceptable answer! I had my hair cut at the salon 2 weeks prior, by Jo, and I did not need another cut. She also charged me for the cut-- assumably because she left the the process/developer on so long (cutting another person's hair & selling products to another walk in) it fried the ends of my hair. I have pictures that I will be glad to provide. I noticed one large section that was not foiled while she was helping a shopper buy shampoo it was the section below & behind my right ear. I pointed it out to her, and she put only 1 foil in that entire section. After I got home and looked more closely at my hair there were many places that were not done at all-- large sections that were not foiled & outgrowth was still there.
Her 9 year old child was at the salon when I arrived for my appointment at 4pm, she was constantly being interrupted by the child & other customers walking in to buy products. She had to help the customers, because there was no other employees in the salon. Then her husband came in the salon about 6pm. He looked & smelled like he just crawled out from under a vehicle, and sat in a near chair. That would have been okay IF he had not made derogatory comments about the nature of the hair business, and telling the 9 year old that she wasn't going to be a stylist when she grew up. It was very uncomfortable.He acted aggravated that it was taking Sarrah too long to do my hair-- that may have been why she left several sections undone.

I WAS in shock. My hair looked nothing like I asked for. It looked severely damaged. It took 4 hours and looked like a student in cosmetology school took her first stab at color. Needless to say, I was VERY upset. I cried over it. Vain, I know but a woman's hair is very important to her self esteem.

I had to find someone else to try to minimize the damage this person did. It cost me $120.00 to fix it-- in addition to the 97.25 your stylist charged. I did not call Sarrah to fix it. Frankly, I don't trust her & I did not want any more damage done to my hair. I was afraid she would melt my hair off ! I respectfully ask that all my money be refunded. I think you should also compensate me for having to spend an additional $120.00 for having to get someone else to fix it. I also think some real changes need to take place in the shop. The entire episode was awful.
The first picture is MY hair. The 2nd & third pictures are what I showed the stylist. I explained I wanted the COLOR of the short hair photo & the chunkiness of the photo with the long hair.

SmartStyle perm north charleston sc july 31,2017

first I had to wait till 11 am for them to open when it said on the website they open at 10 am but anyways I went to get a perm she asked if I ever dyed my hair I told her yes 16 days ago she said ok so she rolled my hair put the stuff on my hair but she was rushing did not even check and see if my hair took at all after she took the rollers she said oh your hair color changed and she said it looks like the perm damged your hair needless to say it looked so bad she did not even try to say oh I can let you come back in a week to fix it my hair is damaged I had long hair now I have short corse hair that I cant do nothing to

SmartStyle child's horrible haircut

Went to your Wal-Mart location, East Windsor.
The curvy blonde woman looked like she just rolled out of bed and obviously didn't want to be there. Zero professionalism.
She put my 4 year old daughter in a chair and started dry combing her hair. Ouch!
I was wondering if She was going to wet it.
She didn't! She asked my how short, I said 2-3 inches not 4+.
She then grabbed the back if her hair in a huge chunk and started hacking it off!
She didn't section it off or wet it. There was no procedural method here. I was sitting away from her and thought, okay, maybe she's doing something different or maybe she'll even it out later? Or wet it after? It all happened so fast, I didn't know what the do. I was trying to let her do her job but, obviously she needed help.
My daughter's hair is beautiful and very thick, there is no way you can dry cut it in one sweep, I could see her struggling to do her half fast sloppy armature work.
My daughter's hair is completely uneven and her part was way over and not corrected.
There was a dangling huge piece way longer than the rest of her hair!
Her gorgeous hair is ruined and we will be heading back to school soon!
I am beyond livid with this horrifying experience and quite displeased I paid for that garbage. It was like she had no training.
My daughter's hair can't possibly go any shorter to correct this! I am very dissatisfied.
The lack of regard for my child's haircut quality Is appalling.
I certainly hope she is reprimanded.

This woman was NOT personal and did not want to be there. Today was the Aug Civic holiday. We were there at 11am.

SmartStyle total botched hair color

I am furious, angry, and absolutely heart broken over what they did to my daughter. She went to get just some blonde highlights on her brown hair yesterday at 3:30. It's now 3:03 almost 24 hours later and now my daughter has dark red brown hair to cover up the horrible screwed up job that was done. This is so ridiculous and wrong. HOW do these people get away with this? Can't get your money back, oh no because they had to spend so much time today trying to fix Their MISTAKES!

SmartStyle slander

I have been going to the Smart Style located in Fern Creek in Louisville, KY for 7 years. I either get Chris or Amber to do my hair. I was in for a cut a month ago when the girls told me Regis was selling off all their salons and that the guys that bought the Fern Creek location were not good people and that they were all quitting in 3 weeks.
Out of habit I went back in to Smart Style last week and some creepy guy practically rushed me at the entrance. I realized I'd forgotten the girls were gone and I said I'm sorry I forgot Amber & Chris were no longer here. He said yeah we fired all those girls and the girls at the Bashford salon for stealing. I told him those girls told me they were leaving a month ago and you a damn liar. You could practically see the sweat pouring off his forehead and as he started stuttering some more non sense begging me to let him cut my hair.
Those girls were right. Those guys are liars, not to mention creepy.
DO NOT GOTO THIS SALON !

Store located in a Walmart Grocery Store. Floor filthy, dust every where, station are filthy, mirror had hair on it, hair all over the floor from last persons haircut. TaTrina never put a towel around my neck at time of washing out my haircolor. I was drenched all over my back, she had to blow dry my shirt because I told her I, m not walking thru store like that. either hire an outside company to clean the location or close down the place. SmartStyle a hairstyle and cut that I received

On May 15 or 16 I called several location looking for Rheatha, I finally tracked her at the Saraland store...she was on a conference called the young lady whom related that message also advised me that on May 19th Rheatha would be at the Tillman's corner location and on May 20th the Semmes location therefore that friday bright and early I went to Tillman's corner and there was no Rheatha so the lady text her and Rheatha informed that lady that it would be around 10:30 because she was with her boss. I had an event that I had to MC on Sunday therefore I asked Ashley if she felt enough confidence to cut my hair in the two styles that I showed her she said yes. I watched her cut to older white females hair so I was satisfied that she could do it. When she finish my hair I was not satisfied with the left side so she changed it three different times, I paid her and tipped her even though I was not satisfied because she made an effort to satisfied me, she snapped a couple of picture and gave me a card. Immediately after I got out into the daylight I could tell that it was worst that I initially thought so because I was press for time for work I left without saying anything to Ashley, but I did arrived the next morning to show it to Rheatha so she could fix it but again she was with her boss and had not come to the store, needless to say I was upset because I had to get up in front of all those people on Sunday the 21st at the church anniversary, so I explained it to the girl there and she advised me that when I do speak to Rheatha to let her know, because again Rheatha was not available I asked her should I call the 800 number and she said I could but that it was going to whine up back to Rheatha anyway because she handle those type of complaints so I spent a entire week trying to track Rheatha down and she called me that following Friday may 26th I explained it to her and she advised that she was going to make a notation of it but that I still had to lodge and official complaint to the company. I would like for you all to know that I had to go somewhere else that Saturday May 20th to get my hair redone and the girl that cut it was more that willing to explain to Rheatha what it looked like and what she had to do to correct it but when we called the store Rheatha still had not come in and also I went by there late afternoon in person to show Rheatha my hair and to tell her what the lady said, and explain to her what happen with Ashley but still she was not there. I know Rheatha does excellent work and that is who I really wanted but I had to accept who was available and ended up paying twice for my hair which I am very aggravated because Rheatha is floating all over the place and at different times and not at certain location at all and it's just a mess and whenever the higher ups come in and want to tie up her time they do and its not fair to the customers and then there if no company cell phone to reach her and if it is they don't give out the number...everyone that I spoke to said that they would texted her not call but text and there should be an email to reach her for the customers' sake because I really did get the feeling that that were afraid to contact her on my behalf because they was afraid that i might have been reporting them and not the person I was trying to report, and then when she called her number was blocked and I don't usually answer blocked numbers but I figure it was her because they never offer me a number to get in touch with Rheatha therefore I felt that that is what was instructed to them they were following protocol but when she did contact me she was nice and engaging and she said that my cut might be refunded but money for my style would not and I just did not like it and I will not be using smart style ever again. Mary Frye [protected], you can contact me and I use no block numbers because I want you all to know who I am and I don't scam and I don't lie, I just tried to be as gracious to Ashley as she was to me and I do appreciate her trying to satisfied me and if Rheatha had been at either of those location like she was scheduled to be then this would not have happened and or this matter could have been resolved.

SmartStyle hair salon

I went to Danielle Bestow at Walmart smart style Bay Pines. My hair was almost all one length and curly, I just needed it trimmed up. I specifically told her that I did NOT want layers in my hair. She said ok, trimmed it up and sent me on my way. After it dried I noticed that the sides were still really puffy and frizzy, so I went back the next day. I let her know that evidently she needed to take a little more off. She then proceeded to cut the rest of my hair, excuse me LAYER the rest of my hair. When I asked her why she layered it after I specifically said not to, her reply was, "that is the only way I know how to cut it." And I am just supposed to be ok with that? I'm sorry, but if you can't do it the way the customer asked then you need to say something. I now have a good 2 years to wait for these stupid layers to grow out! I know you can't put my hair back, but you need to be held accountable for what you have done!

Although they did refund me and give me 2 bottles of product (Big Whoop!), it has now been almost 3 months.
I still HATE my hair, and as I told them my hair grows so slow it hasn't grown enough to have anything else done to it.
So still stuck with this haircut that I specifically stated DO NOT DO to my hair!
Moral of story, just don't go there!

I have been there they are not very respectful and are running all all over the place while TRYING TO DO YOUR HAIR AWFUL PLACE. I HAVE HAD BETTER AT SCHOOLS.

i just recently had my hair messed up by smartstyle people also...i submitted a complaint lady called me back to ask questions, ., only i was unable to take call she said call me back...but the phone said restricted and no number...they said they wanted to reimbersed me..but cant call IF THEY DONT LEAVE A DAMN NUMBER! only restricted...yeah they were gonna pay me back...NOT!

SmartStyle hair colour / service

Made an appt to get my hair done before Christmas. Service was terrible! Wasn't even offered a seat or shown were to sit or hang my coat, 30 mins after the time my appt time she finally was able to start. I wanted my hair dyed with highlights, I told her no red tones... she decided red tones was best and proceeded to do that. Every decision I made she talked me out of! For the highlights they were chunks! I asked her for thin pieces, when I part my hair I can see the streaks! And she talked me out of using a toner, probably to save on time... and to finish there's a piece of my hair that's uneven in the front! Needless to say I won't be back, for what I paid the service and quality of the work was not worth it!

SmartStyle haircut

Got my hair cut at Smartstyle on 1/19/17. Show the stylist a pic, & the cut looks nothing like it. It really should have been a simple cut. I told her I wanted my dead ends off, which was supposed to have been only an inch. Instead she took about 4 inches off my length, even after I illustrated an inch using my hand. My stylist was Melva in Princeton, WV store. Will not go back.

SmartStyle haircut

I am beyond livid! I took my 23-month-old foster son in to get a trim. He has naturally curly hair that I just love. I asked the stylist to give him a trim to clean him up a little bit and he literally butchered his hair! I clearly stated that I wanted to keep his curls and even commented that I was glad to see the stylist had curly hair as well so he understood. He nodded at the comment and began to cut. I stepped away for a few seconds to grab a tissue because my little one was crying and his nose was running and when I came back he had literally cut inches off his hair! I said, "OMG you took his curls off"! He didn't respond. Just kept cutting. A minute later I took the cape off my little man and threw it at the stylist. I said enough! If you keep cutting he will be bald. I then went to the counter and said, "I am not happy at all!" She asked me if we had discussed what I wanted. Does anyone get a haircut without first telling them?! I started to cry because there is no fixing this! I am so angry that I just want to go back in there and punch the guy! The first photo shows what his hair looked like. The second photo shows what he did. Disgusting! The third photo is what I asked for. Unbelievable! I feel like he purposely did this!

SmartStyle haircut

I had my almost waist length hair trimmed 5 inches. I asked that the ends be feathered and it was all one length when we began. I keep my hair up in a clip in warm weather and did not realize how badly the cut looked until at a women's retreat, when some one else brushed my hair out, they were a retired beautician, to discover it was 2 inches different on the back and layered clumpilly to the shoulders. It was 3 weeks after the cut. The clerk at the store said that stylist had been let go. And, they would not fix the cut, it would have to be cut to my shoulders to look right, and only a 2 dollar discount. I cannot believe it! It is obviously a mess.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

SmartStyle overstock and commission quota.

Where I work there is a quota paper put up for every day of the week to meet before we are allowed to be paid the commission. I would like to change that by letting you know that we all keep the salon nice and clean as humanly possible. I have gone through it, and know a lot of that state regulations such even having to clean in between the two plastic layers of the dryer heads to beat any state checks. We are getting overstock of products that don't get sold as much. Is any way you could keep track of what is sold @ the salon in Oneida NY, and just but what has been sold, so we don't have to beat a quota on the wall before we can be paid commission. It is called conserving in order to pay us the quarter we deserve for what we make for the company. Thank you for listening.

Correction, buy what products have been sold, instead overstocking, one because it is costly, and never heard of beating a quota before getting 1/4 of what we make for the company. It just seems very strange to me because the company takes the rest of the profit.

I spoke with my Manager and she made it more clear with me how we are paid, however customers that work @ wamart in Oneida say that this Wal-Mart has less customers then the rest, and they think it is because they expanded customer services area instead of putting in a subway. I agreed, with a Probably. So maybe management can discuss lowering the quota at some point to make it a little easier on us

SmartStyle the whole service

My haircut was $185 there! I didnt get what I asked requested, toning, trim and low lights. I don't know what she did, but I think I would have done better at supercuts. Isabel, was my hairdresser and the manager. Never go there! Horrible! I even had to get it recut. I went there because I could not afford a high end salon. This place is a rip off! Terrible! Thieves! Scam! I'm still trying to talk to someone other than the manager who charged me $185 and never mentioned anything while doing my hair! Worst place! I have tiger stripes! Isabel, couldn't fix it when I went back the next day. She offered me a fre trim and root touch up the next time. Like hell I will ever go back! I want my money back for an awful job and deception.

I also went to SmartStyle and was charged over 30 dollars for a hair cut, even though it was supposed to be $17.50. Never again. My SmartStyle is in Providence, Rhode Island and Olivia was the stylist's name.

SmartStyle manager

Worst place I ever went to. Manager was obnoxious and unproffessional. I Came in with my granddaughter to get her hair cut for school. A simple chin length bob. How hard was that? The manager threw up her hands and said she did not know how to cut a bob that was not just cut ´´straight´´ across. I had asked her to cut bottom with a slight curve. She looked at the second hispanic hairdresser standing next to her and said rudely ´do YOU know how to do this´ and she just shook her hair and said nothing and went back to her customer. A young woman who was with another customer said she knew what I wanted and she cut her hair for me. Good job. When she got through, she said quietly that she did not know why the manager claimed she did not know how to cut a bob. She just didnt want to do it. She only wanted to cut the mens hair. Thats all she would except as customers while I sat and watched my granddaughter get her her cut. I will never go there again.

Monroe, LA store.
Having spent a considerable amount of time in various Smart Styles (my best friend was a manager in the Denver area, although she's now at Cost Cutters) I feel qualified to leave my observations.
The Monroe store is in dire need of new management. The current one, with her obvious lackadaisical approach to both employees and customers, needs to be replaced. A current stylist there, Tamika (unknown last name) is a much more prudent choice. She did not "do" my hair. But I listen closely and make candid observations. Trust me on this.

SmartStyle hair cut

I walked in with shoulder length pretty hair..walked out with chopped up hair cut to below my ears. My hair was butchered. Asked for an a-line with light layering..ha, ha. My hair looks like a butt of a chicken. When I said "I don't like this" the stylist just walked away. Another stylist, with no teeth, came over and tried to "fix" this botched job. No way it could be fixed..my hair was gone. Will take months for this mess to grow out.

SmartStyle haircut

My name is Albert Theriault. The date is 11.16.15, incident occurred approximately 2:30 p.m. I had asked "Roxy" to cut my hair, giving the description 2 1/2 cut with a tapered back. She proceded to cut my hair in the back. When she came around to my sides, I noticed she had shaved my head bald, she did not bother putting on the guard. I work with the public & I am very conscientious of my appearence. In addition to this, today is my wife's birthday & I had made plans to take to her out, but I have cancelled my plans due to my appearence. In addition, I had Christmas family potraits scheduled this week, and had to cancel this appointment, as well. So as you can see the repercussions have immediately affected me in a most negative way. It will take a month for my hair to grow back to it's normal length. Also, the area where she had shaved my head is white, giving me a very embarassing & noticeable difference in skin tone. I would like to be compensated for the distress this has and will cause me.

SmartStyle stylist didn't listen

I just left the Smart Style Salon in York, SC for color and haircut. The color is nice but the stylist---Jenna did NOT listen at all when I told her I did NOT want any length of my hair taken off. Please just trim the top some. I did have shoulder length hair, now it is approx. 2-3 inches all over my head...I am furious! I told her about 5 times...I love the length it is...do NOT want it cut...She starting cutting and before I knew it...It was all over the floor...She thinned it out...which I also did not ask for...I will have to purchase extensions now to wear until this mess grows out...This is a warning...DO NOT GOT TO JENNA AT SMART STYLE IN YORK SC...She does what she wants to do and does NOT listen to her customers...Thank you...CA

SmartStyle bad haircut

I visited the Walmart Smart Style salon a few times. I never been satisfied with the quality of service. It seeing to me that the stylist are not professionals at all. I showed a picture to the stylist and she looks like she knew what to do. The reality speaks for itself, I am a walking mushroom. Now I will need to pay another $30.00 or more to fix my hair. I am so upset. Walmart should make sure that whoever is working there is a professional not a person playing to be a stylist.
