SmartStyle horrible business all around

Do not go to this salon! I went a few years ago and got a horrible hair cut then yesterday I really needed a trim and everywhere else was closed so I thought everyone deserves a second chance this lady chopped my hair it looks like a five year old did it she said that she just got out of vogue beauty school but I don't see how she didn't blow dry my hair after the cut so wet it looked okay but about an hour later everyone kept asking what happened to my hair and when I looked oh was it terrible I even cried so when I called she said come in tommarrow to get it fixed so I did they wont fix it cuz she is not there and no refund because the manager is not there also very rude people please don't even go here if you are desperate

SmartStyle bad haircut and horrible customer service

I went into the salon in orlando, on john young parkway and sand lake rd on friday may 8 for a haircut.
The woman who cut my hair did not introduce herself, takes me to wash my and cut it. She gets me in the chair asks how i would like my hair cut. I told here i wanted it cut just past my shoulders and layered. She didn"t understand fully so i explained again.
She didn't really have the best knowledge of the english language, but i assumed since she was employed there she knew what she was doing. I left with my hair still wet so i couldn"t see exactly what she had done, so i went home. When my hair dried i realized she didn't listen to anything I had said and it looked awful, since i was mad i decided to wait til the next day after i had calmed down to reach out to smart style to resolve the problem. Well i called the salon i went 8 times in a 4 hour time frame and noone ever answered. Called 2 other salons til 1 decided to answer. I was then given the corporate #, i called explained my story and was told the regional manager would call me back to resolve this. Since it was Saturday i didn't expect a call til Monday, Well Monday rolls around no call so i call the corporate # again and there system is down. I then call the original salon back, even though i didn't know the woman's name the girl who answered the phone instantly knew who i was talking about. She puts the manager on the phone who says this is blah blah so fast i couldn"t even understand her, so i tell her what the problem was, she also knew instantly who i was referring to, and tell her i called 8 times on Saturday. She asks when, I tell her and she procedes to tell me i must have called the wrong #. I said 8 times? I got the # off your website and its right today, but it was wrong on Saturday? She once again says i was dialing the wrong # which she never bothered to ask what # i was calling. So i hung up before i said what i really thought. At that point what she said to me basically is your stupid and dialed the wrong # 8 times. If I was the manager I would have told the customer come in and I personally will fix your hair. But i guess that's not the kind of training they receive, or she is just a bad manager. It's now Monday afternoon waiting for someone else to call me, since the district manager whose name they gave me is no longer there and no one at the 1 salon that answers the phone and treats people like humans with respect, knows the phone # to the new district manager. Why should someone have to go through so much to get what they already paid for?

SmartStyle horrible employee

Somebody needs to fire the snobby girl devan from smartstyles, she doesnt listen, she screws up my hair all the time, I think she may be using drugs, if I were in regis corporation I would submit a drug test., she is thee rudest person ive ever encountered! She should find a new profession. All she does is talk sh* about smartstyles. She especially has a problem with the manager there, always calling her a bi*, cu*, and a whole lot of other names I shall not speak of. I would not trust her at all! She complains about me wanting something else done with my hair. If I say I dont like just a small part of the. Hair cut, she gets this attitude with me and stomps off momentarily andcomes back all rude. Its her way or the highway! If you have a problem she throws a fit practically. Her and another employee are always sitting around on cell phones, when they could be cleaning the salon. They sit there while all dirty, hair all over floor. I see her stealing product once and a while. There has to be some sort of disciplinary. Action!

I like how you call a grown woman a girl when you yourself have poor grammar skills. Use capital letters for proper nouns. Double space between sentences. Sentences should begin with a capital letter. These are basic things taught in the second grade. Perhaps you are the girl rather than her. It sounds like you are the one throwing the fit.

SmartStyle haircut

In January of 2015 I had went into Smart Styles hair salon to have my dead ends trimmed and eyebrows waxed. The wait wasnt long maybe approx 20 to 30 minutes. Tasha Montgomery was the hair stylist who "attempted" to trim my hair. she had already waxed my brows and done an acceptable job however when it came to my hair i wasnt able to see what she was doing as she had me turned away from the mirror. All I wanted was the dead ends trimmed off. MEANING PLEASE CUT ONLY THE DEAD ENDS OFF! When she was done she handed me a mirror and asked me to look and see what I thought. Much to my surprise she had cut approx 3 inches of my hair off, butchered one side and the rest was a mess to say the least. I had to go to Mane attraction to try and salvage what was left without cutting any more of the length off and TRY and blend the side that was completely gaped up. To say the least I am extremely angered over this. I have contacted Regis Corporation TWICE giving them ample time to contact me as they said they would. I have called back asking when i was going to hear from the district manager as they clearly stated. According to the lady i spoke to they had NO RECORD of me calling in. The lady supposedly made another claim .. I have heard nothing from Regis Corp/ smart styles... Last message I left was not very nice as I threatened to sue Smart styles. ANNNNNND ive heard nothing ! Called back again.. and of course they have no record of me ever calling once again! Will I let this go? Most likely just getting started! I contacted a young lady whom I know was employed there a few months before . I later find out the young lady "tosha montgomery" doesnt even have a license. yes, im extremely bitter over this whole ordeal as I have later learned that the ppl behing smart styles DOES NOT DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM!

SmartStyle worst experience ever

I went into the salon on Saturday to have my 4 year old daughter's hair evened up. She cut it straight across like I asked...then however decided to take it upon herself to put 1 layer in her hair, leaving it with a choppy look. She also cut it into a long bob...seriously..that is not what I asked for! How does a stylist take it upon themselves to cut a kids hair how "she" sees fit...that is seriously unprofessional. Now in order for me to have it fixed i'm going to have to take another 2-3 inches off of her hair. It's already shorter than I wanted it! Completely unacceptable...I have left a complaint with the company themselves, but I doubt I will hear anything from them.

SmartStyle incompetence

I came in for color and trim as my regular stylist was away. The color was lightly and swiftly ( i.e. carelessly) applied, and after it was washed out, my greys were not covered . I had to point this out to the stylist and ask her for a reapplication of color. Later, I asked for a slight trim, following the contours of my previous (well executed) cut. What a mistake! This girl quickly and unskillfully hacked a horrifickly shaped coif---absolutely no finesse, disgusting style . I think I'm done with Smart Style.

I always go smart style for my hair need this time I got this ladies that let my hair get burn and no curl
she did not let the water run on my for 5 min. get the good girls back all of them are gone

SmartStyle service/cut

I went into Smart Style this past Saturday morning to have my son's hair cut. The person I regularly went to had to cancel the day before due to an illness. My son was having his first year pictures done this Saturday and I really wanted him to be "clean cut"! I know several people who go to Smart style and have had really great experiences, I unfortunately wasn't so lucky. We were called back and the first words I spoke was this is my little boys first haircut so we will be taking some pictures and I also want lockets of his hair. she nodded.. I began to describe to her what cut I wanted for my little guy. ( a common boy haircut) She seemed confused. I explained again and asked if she understood to which she replied, "ya ya" So I assumed she understood. She then started cutting my sons hair and before I knew it she completely cut it off. She cut it way shorter than what I asked for to the point I had to ask her to stop cutting his hair. My son, being 12 months started to get impatient and move around to which I was trying to keep him still and entertained, the hairdresser spoke to me in Spanish...NOT once did I speak Spanish to her or indicate to her that I spoke Spanish. I than knew at that point that there was a HUGE language barrier and she probably never understood what I wanted in the first place. My frustration is this- if you don't understand please have the decency to speak up and tell the customer. I would have been much more receptive if she would have sent me to the next person vs just cutting on my sons hair not understanding what I wanted. Not only did this hairdresser do a horrible job cutting my sons hair, she ruined that first hair cut experience that I will never get back!

SmartStyle price

I took my son age 13 who is very small for his age for a haircut expecting to pay a reasonable price the salon being in Walmart, instead I was disgusted at having to pay 18 Dollars and two cents just for a dry trim. It clrearly states 10.95 dollars for Kids and in quite small print underneath it states age ten and under . This means that children over ten are classed as ADULTS - "REALLY". I asked for the Manager and the person stated that. She herself was the Manager so I asked her for the Owner of the Salon and she refused. The Manager in charge was impolite and and offered no customer liaison.

SmartStyle horrible

I wanted a simple trim. I explained that I wanted to let my hair grow out and what my goal was and I needed them to even out the layers. The girl had no clue what she was doing. She trimmed off tiny bits at a time, all over, parted my hair every which way and just didn't get anywhere. She was very hesitant and obviously had no clue what I wanted or what to do about it. Finally the store manager took over. I thought it was a good thing. She chopped away and sort of got the hair in the back halfway decent. And before I knew it, she ripped off the plastic cape and told me: there, all better, have a good day. She wanted me out of the salon, pronto. The cut wasn't even complete. She didn't give the other girl a chance to finish off the rest. I was so stunned that I basically let her push me out the door, of course after paying first. I didn't even realize how bad it was until I got home. I'll have to go to another hair salon ASAP, but I will never ever set foot in any Walmart Smart Style salon again. I should have been weary when there was only one customer in there with 4 stylists sitting around, looking bored. Stay away! In this case: you get what you pay for!

SmartStyle mistreated by hair dresser

1/10/2014 1030 am I went to the smartstyle located inside the walmart supercenter at this location. There was one hair dresser, amanda. I had her cut my hair one or two times in the past, but didn't remember she is a scissor happy hairdresser. Well, unfortunately it happened to me again. I sat in the chair and went over with her how I wanted my hair cut, and she confirmed.
When I was done I didn't notice how she chopped my front bangs, because my bangs were supposed to be just in the middle of my eyebrows not chopped as they are now. I even paid her $3 tip thinking she did a good job. Amanda should not be a hair dresser since she confirmed how I wanted my hair cut, and then went and did it the way she wanted to. I am requesting a meeting with her and the supervisor at this hair place, and am going to ask for my money back, and the tip back.

SmartStyle ripped off, overcharged, bad customer service etc

I was a long standing loyal customer of Smart Style for over a 1yr. I gave Smart Style a lot of business. I was always cooperative, friendly with the staff at all times, spent a lot of money in this particular salon over the course of that year, referred my friends to this salon, never asked for too much, & etc I trusted that this place of business would always give me great service ..But that wasn't the truth of things... The customer service at this salon is very lousy. As I saw... They started to act as if they hated to see me coming. Because I came pretty frequently there to get my hair done... In my opinion, If I have a great regular customer that kept coming spending her money to let us service her hair care needs, I would have always did her right & kept her coming back..

The stylists are young and very unprofessional & inexperienced as I grew to see. I got overcharged terribly for a relaxer once during a visit by a stylist who thought she could get over on me and charge me for services that I didn't even get. She jacked up the price purposely even when I used a coupon given to me by her in an earlier visit & she didn't really do much to my hair. For the relaxer to cost $70. Something bucks for shoulder length hair... I have never in my life paid $70.00 bucks for a relaxer in all the hair salons that I have ever went too. I was told later by another stylist that I should have only been charged $45.00 dollars and some change for my relaxer that’s all especially since I was a long standing customer... She thought I would never speak out about it or report her.. I found out later that this same stylist has done not only to me but overcharged & ripped off many other customers as well.

A fellow stylist told me the whole deal when I cam back to question my receipt for the past charges. They apparently knew all along that she had been overcharging me & ripping me off and they did nothing to let me know what was really going on until after the fact. In my opinion that doesn’t make them any better that the stylist that ripped me off...

The other stylist later admitted to me that the reason why she didn't warn me about the fact that the other stylist had been ripped me off was that they didn’t want to run me off. For another stylist to say that to me that knew what was going on that was pretty foul. I couldn't believe it. Just horrible customer service.

I believe that all of they stylist at this location l over charge customers that come in to get their hair done, not just the one that ripped me off. Because the other stylist practically admitted that they did from time to time. If you are a new unsuspecting customer. But I wasn't a new customer.. I had been going there for 1 year. So they didn't care.

Take my advice & if you see any of these hair salons in the super Wal-Mart’s. Run.. Please don't stop in to get a hair cut, waxings, or hair salon services, because believe me you may get ripped off or a mess up do.Take my warning... I hope this Smary Style location In Meridian, Ms gets exposed for everything they do wrong to customers...

i agree with foxy grandma. if its on the internet its up for comment
and discussion and not just between the hairdresser and client. and as far as the lady who had highlights and was supprised she was charged for them, it is not beyond you to ask if there will be a charge and how much. do you think a person would just start doing extra work just for the heck of it? take part of the responability.

I have always gotten good service here.. Except today June 18 2014. The girl who gave my perm, was in a hurry and did not leave it in long enough, so i got no curl . It is terrible. I have to wait 3 months to get another. Can I get my money back?

Prime example of "FOXYGRANDMA" trolling a PUBLIC complaint board user. If you want to be a judge so bad then get off your ### and do it, stop trying to find your pathetic satisfaction in replying to peoples complaints like its YOUR problem, because it's NOT. These are problems between the specific user making the complaint and the target of the complaint. Its hard to tell a lady of 73 years old to grow up, but you in fact need to grow up and understand the world does not resolve around the pathetic statements you make on a daily basis. You give American law enforcement a bad name.

SmartStyle I made her stop and left crying

The lady that cut my hair had been cutting hair for one year which should have been thr first red flag. The advertised sign said "$15.50 for shampoo & cut" Well midway through my haircut, it came to me...she didnt wash my hair and she is cutting it bone dry! So I asked her, "since you didnt wash my hair do I get anything off since its $15.50 for a wash AND a cut?" She chuckled and said no. She got to my bangs and I specifically told her NOT to go too short because we can always take more off. Then I showed her that I wanted them to my eyes. (They were originally to my chin) I also told her I use the "side sweep" style. Once I noticed she was cutting them straight across, I also noticed she cut the middle section of my bangs down to about 1.5 inches! Needless to say, I told her how horrible it looked and started to tear up. She didnt charge me.

Good day, My Friends be very carefully, I am Regina Clark an American who
base in the United Kingdom, i am so confidence to say that one’s in my life
time i can experience legitimacy in loan company on the Internet world, if
i was directed by somebody else to this company, i wouldn’t have written
them because i have been fooled several times by online loan firm on the
Internet and i decided to stay off applying for loan online until a time came
when i was having financial problem due to the predicament i had in my
place of work that leads to my sack off in my place of work and i have
nobody to run to, my credit was very low, my rent was approaching it
expiring dates and my kids have to been in school but due to my ex-sense
spending before i got sack off from place of work i have nothing to solve
all this problem. I have no other option than to come online looking for
online loan firm that will help me out of my financial problem and i came
across a loan firm and i was scammed of $2, 600Usd in my attempt of
obtaining a loan from them and i almost committed suicide and i ask my self
is this the end of my life because i am a dying mother of 2 kids to take
care of, where will i get money to finance their education and pay my
bills? all this are the questions that kept running inside my mind and i
became frustrated in the process of doing that and a words of encouragement
came into me instantly saying it is not over yet, keep trying and you will
definitely got in touch with your helper very soon and i stood up and said
i will give this a last try and if nothing happens that means their is no
hope for me any longer. And i went online that very moment and i came
across a post by one (Dr, Jerry Deats) saying that he has never seen a
real loan firm like ANN LINDA LOAN COMPANY and instantly i consulted
the loan firm by the email which he place on the post and in that same day
i got response from the manager ( Mrs, Ann Linda ) and she forward to me
all the Rules and Regulations that is guiding the company which will enable
me to obtain the loan from them and i ask her how long will it take me to
finish the process of my loan because i am planning of getting into
business after i lost my job and she said it will take us one or two weeks
if i am fast in replying their message. I ask her, i hope i am not going to
send any money to them because i was told here in my country that i
shouldn’t send any money in to get a loan and she replied by saying that it
surprise her when i said that because their is no loan firm online who will
render service to a loan seeker without him/her paying anything upfront. It
sound very hurt to her hearing and she took it as a pain and explained
everything to me and when i have a rethink about it i discovered it was
true and that was were those false loan firm took advantage in defrauding
people of their had earn money and she gave me her words that i should go on
with them and she will take me by surprise that they are truly for real and
i went on and apply for a business loan of $250, 000.00, for the duration of
25 years and i paid all the charges that are needed to be paid and like she
said she is going to surprise me, that was what she did, it was then i knew
that there are still real loan company on the internet otherwise i wouldn’t

That is one way to get a free haircut, claim you do not like the style. Then cry to put on a bigger show. Can't afford to cut your hair by a professional get it cut yourself. Don't see anything wrong with it. It is just as you asked just below the eyes.

SmartStyle messed up highlights/rude races staff

Went to Smart Style in Ottawa, Il. Someone told me they have new staff and seemed to be better than before. I did not was really disappointed with them but I wanted to give them another shot. I wanted some highlights (Black/Platinum), I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted, I believe a picture said more than words. The result was awful, my hair ending being orange/yellowish, nothing even close of what I asked for. I asked the manager if she could fix it, but instead she gave me the excuse that I already had another hair color. She was rude and didn't offer an apology. The stylist has no training, no experience and do not know any techniques about highlights. They were races and rude, the Manager has no customer service skills at all. The most surprising of the already awful experience was that instead offer me a solution, and an apology, the manager had the guts to charge me for the no service and no good result. I called their customer service to complain but they really do not care about making sure the customers are satisfied. Don ever go to Smart Style Salon! This was my worst hair experience! Pictures will tell you how bad they are!

SMARTSTYLE SALON IN GOOSE CREEK, SC, 603 ST. JAMES AVE. I AM A REGULAR GUEST AT THIS SALON. THERE WAS A NEW STYLIST, I GUESS, BECAUSE I HAD NEVER SEEN HER BEFORE. ANYWAYS, HER NAME IS LAWANDA. SHE WAS VERY RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS, MAYBE EVEN ARROGANT. DO NOT SIT IN HER CHAIR. I WILL NOT GET INTO DETAILS, BUT TAKE A VISIT AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF. I WILL CONTINUE TO BE A CUSTOMER A SMARTSYLE SALON, BUT ME AND LAWANDA, NEVER AGAIN.

SmartStyle over charge

I took my daughter to salon #3391 on August 17th, to get her hair trimmed. We selected the cut & blow dry option for $18.95. The man working the counter asked if she wanted her hair styled. I asked how much it would cost for a cut & style & was told it would be $21 or $22. Since it was only a couple dollars more, we opted to have her hair styled as well. However, at checkout, the total was $34.45 not the $22 I was expecting. I reminded the stylist we were told it would cost $21 or $22. She stated that is in addition to the cost of the cut. I told her that was not what they had indicated; she continued to stress the charge was $34.45. I let her know I was unhappy with the additional cost & if I had to pay that much, we would not be coming back, nor would she be getting a tip; since we were being charged more than had been agreed upon. She shrugged her shoulders in response. I did not want to argue in front of my daughter. So I reluctantly paid the inflated charges and left. As soon as we got home I emailed Smart Style corporate office (actually filled out their contact us from) and told them about our experience. As of today 8/21 I still have not received a reply.

Most people choose to use Smart Style because of their affordable prices, however when they misrepresent the cost of services and then charge you the same prices you would find at a higher end salon, it defeats the purpose. $34.95 for a simple trim is outrageous! All we wanted was a trim, and only opted for the style (they curled her hair) because they told us it would cost just a few dollars more.

If you are looking for a good cut at an affordable price, I recommend going somewhere else.

I have been to a Smart Style salon in Colorado and they have given me good cuts, but they are in Walmarts and in the rural area it is over 60 miles away, so I very seldom go there. I was visiting New Mexico and a Walmart was down the street so I stopped in to have my hair cut and permed.

The stylist, to give her more credit than due, cut my hair so poorly it looks like a kid did it while I was a sleep. The spiral perm hasn't lasted a week even though I didn't wash it and used the products the "stylist" sold me. I gave her a $20.00 tip to boot. At the time it was wet and dropping as I left and I couldn't tell how terrible it was or how it would dry, and of course I didn't know it would be gone before I got home to Colorado.

The customer service has not been very responsive, telling me it will take several days for them to decide if they will refund my money or give me a credit. Why would i want to trust them again. Sadly, they probably have good stylists working for them, but a bad experience has made me question ever trusting them again. And my rural location has made a redo difficult.

Why can't companies hire quality people, pay them to do their jobs and give consumers what they pay for?

SmartStyle poor business ethics

I was in the smart style salon located at my local Walmart last weekend to get a hair cut, I had an accident with a box color hair product Already feeling embarrassed by the color ( a mix between bright red and orange..oh and a few major shades of blonde and brown) I decided cut about 80% of my hair. I was taken very quickly and insulted just as quickly. Having the hairstylist tell me if I had added a shade of green, I could be Rainbow bright! If that didnt make me feel already bad enough I had to have her partner insult me by touching my hair and saying "oh my god, how gross", "that's nasty". I was on the brink of tears and I looked over at my teenage son who had accompanied me and he mouthed "its OK mom". I cleared my throat and sat there listening to her insult me, asking me if I was proud of my hair color, "does anyone actually like the color" "you should just shave your head".She continued to tell me how badly my hair was damaged and that I should just shave my head bald and start all over, look a new hair style that will create a shaved look on the back and longer on the sides if I don't want to go completely bald or maybe I could look at buying some of the products they offered and pray that it works. I was so scared that my hair was going to fall out that I didn't know what to say, so I paid the price and even gave her a 5 dollar tip! I went home more shattered than any person could ever feel. My husband took it upon himself to make me an appointment with a well known salon here in town to see what their opinion would say.
After explaining my horrifying experience with the Walmart salon, the hair expert (and that's what she was!) told me to not shave my head, to not even give that a second thought. She told me that I would need to fix my hair and even corrected the hair cut the previous stylist gave me! I will never go to back to your salon and I will ensure to tell anyone i can to never deal with that establishment!

SmartStyle loss of hair

Went to get a relaxer done on my colored hair and the lady used a product that completely made a lot of my hair fall off! I was in tears afterwards the whole time. The incident happened on 5/18/13 and I was devastated. The manager took over and tried to put some form of treatment, but to no avail. I definitely did not pay for the service and left that salon in tears. I eventually went to private salon, where I had to pay $60 for a deep treatment (each session). The lady that used to do my hair at smart style quit (kate) quit, so had to resort to someone else. If she was still there, this would never happen! This company really needs to evaluate who they hire and also the products that is being used. I have to say that I will never go back to that store again because the experience was really bad!

SmartStyle Poor treatment

Smart styles in great falls runs a sweat shop! after starting my career at Reggis smart styles, i noticed very quickly i was being used and worked like a modern day slave. All the while the manager promising me i was being trained for manager, for she was to retire.quote... so, as I worked harder and harder topping the required service totals per two week period, she began treating me like crap! All the while telling another employee they were being trained for manager position. I couldn't stand it anymore, I called corporate and said we need to talk or ill put in 2 week notice. Next day middle of shift, general manager calls mine says 2 weeks notice accepted! Not only was I saddened by my treatment, i feel disenchanted as a stylist now! The stress and lies flowed far more freely than I could bare.

SmartStyle ruined my hair

I also got a very bad cut from walmart salon. The sign read cut and style. I left with a wet head. I had told her three different times how I wanted my hair cut. She cut three different times and never got it. I have never had this problem before. I have cried and been laughed at. I am going to find someone who can fix it today. I had very long hair before I entered there and it is up to my neck now. She wouldn't let me watch while cutting. I will NEVER go to one again and I will tell everyone I can how bad a cut I got.I should have know when she asked if I would pay in cash. I gave her a $20.00 bill. When I she stopped cutting she went in the back and didn't come out for a long time. I figured she was finished because she took the cape off. When she came back I ask about the drying she said I couldn't use it. What ? My husband just took my arm before I could get mad. He walked to the cash register so she could give our change and she then went to the back part again. My husband followed her and told her she must need it so just keep the change. We both know that money never made it to the cash register. I was traveling so I cannot go back there, but I will call and complain.
