Shyft Moving - shyft filed bankruptcy

I’m a moving affiliate with shyft moving. I have done a ton of moves on the behalf of this company. I have never had any issues with this company as an affiliated member. But recently all that positivity as SHIFTED!

Recently on October 10th we all received an email out the blue. The email (which is attached) informing us that we would no longer get paid our usual way ( 1-3 days after rendering services) we was told Net30/60 would be the new form of payment.

This was a bit strange to be told this without giving a heads up memo or the option to choose to continue with the company. I found this business move to be a bit strange. It was a red flag for me. To chose to complete a few moves that was on my to-do list before canceling the remaining moves left.

I had a recently employed employee reach out to me and informed me that the company was entering bankruptcy.

(On December 5, Shyft Moving Inc. entered into an assignment for the benefit of creditors (ABC), an insolvency process under state law (Assignment), and assigned its assets to Shyft (ABC), LLC (Assignee). The Assignee will be sending notifications to creditors which will provide information on the Assignment and a website where they can file claims. In the interim, the Assignee is monetizing the assets of the business and will use the proceeds of such sales to address the claims. At this time, there is no estimate of what amounts will be available for credItors.)

Now as a moving affiliate we our left with the burden of not being paid for previous render service. My company is about $15,000 in negative now going into the holiday season for jobs we did back in October. As a small business owner this is flat out absurd.

The company knew there boat was taking on water & oppose from alerting the coastguard. They chose to keep sailing into the deep blue sea. I simply meno/communicate could have prevented this. The blame shall fall at the top at the CEO & tickle down.

I write this post to inform the public and always my fellow affiliates who are clueless right now. We all have family’s & being in the moving business is hard work going state to state. Gas, hotels, truck cost, moving supplies, employees salaries & ect. For AARP to be associated with a company like this is disheartening. We may never recoup the damage has been done. Lines of credit has been destroyed based upon this company greed.

Shyft Moving - My husband was told by his employer, Amazon, to use Shyft for our move

My husband was told by his employer, Amazon, to use Shyft for our move. We got a quote from a local moving company, but my husband got a quote from Shyft (in July ) and was told that my quote was wrong and Shyft had the best prices. So, we went with Shyft and paid the full amount, which was almost $5,000. The movers came on 8/8 and worked hard all day to move us from *** to ***. Before they left, they said we owed $3,150 for the whole move. We told them we already paid Shyft, so they called their manager and the manager confirmed our payment. But they couldn't explain why we paid almost $2,000 more for the same move. We tried to contact Shyft on 8/10, 8/11, and 8/12, and finally they told us that's just how much the service costs. If we had known the service fee was almost 40% (which they never mentioned), we wouldn't have used them.

Shyft Moving Terrible experience!

This was a horrible Moving experience, from the beginning to the end! Shyft moving services, under the guise of AARP, was deceitful at the very beginning.

I was moving out of a 2 bedroom apartment, but was only shipping 1 bedroom items, and I also deleted more items from the first inventory list, taken by move specialist, prior to my actual pickup date. I was charged an exorbitant amount to ship what at the time was now a 1 bd apartment filled items. I want to admit I did not know the Shyft move manager was nothing more than a sales person. I was under the impression that I was talking to a moving company. There was no explanation of the process I was about to enter into. After I had realized I was being taken for a ride, and was no longer able to talk with the original Move Manager I started with, they were only allowing me to talk with different people each time. This entire process with Shyft was simply horrible! I was ripped off monetarily, and to complete the hardship, when my furniture arrived to my new destination, there was damage on items, that I have claimed, and some damaged Items I found later, that I was unable to put on the claim.

I wouldn't wish this experience with Shyft moving services on anyone! Hugh ripoff!

Recommendation: Save yourself!

Shyft Moving I don't recommend this company

I don't recommend this company. They're just a broker so once they have your money and you scheduled, they don't care about what happens with your move. We had a lot of issues with the movers and Shyft. The biggest one was they wanted to overcharge us for items we didn't move. After the movers picked up our stuff, Shyft gets a list of items the movers say they actually moved. We kept telling Shyft that many items in the list were not what we had the movers packed up. One was a giant kitchen table that would add a lot of weight, but we didn't move that. We threw it away. Shyft doesn't seem to want to work with the movers to address these discrepancies. We also had to often talk to the movers ourselves. Shyft also didn't accurately capture what we DID say we would move. They left out a lot of items so our estimate was apparently a lot lower. They wanted to charge us about $2000 more and originally quoted us about $3000. Such a huge SCAM! Avoid this company.
