Seeff rented us a property, starting February 2024, ending in January 2025, contract was signed by us as well as Seeff and the lessor.

They insisted that we pay a two month deposit, which was 22k, service fee of 2k, and even neglected to inform us about the electricity and water activation fee also 2k after we already moved in. Which we paid, as requested, without hesitation, we are good renters, we paid our first month rent before due date.

One month goes by, we receive a notice on 29 February 2024, from Seeff, that we need to move out of the property by April 2024, because the house is sold by the owner.

Seeff is taking no responsibility to protect us in this matter. Even though, we are not at fault in this situation.

Lease comes before buy, right?

So, now, Seeff is expecting us, to move into another place, different rent amount, and deposits, and also, that we should carry the costs on our own.

We did not break contract, Seeff did. And we need a resolution to this situation, ASAP.

Our rental agent is doing nothing to uphold our contract with Seeff and directed the matter to us and the owner to resolve, even though we do not have a contract with the owner, but with Seeff.

We feel that Seeff should carry all moving, administration, water & Electricity activation, deposit, including legal fees, and get us a place valued the same amount as our current rental agreement and living expectations.

This should not be a problem that we need to solve, on behalf of Seeff.

Should Seeff pursue to break the contract by termination, Seeff will be held liable for the following cost, but not limited to;

Settlement of total lease fees for the remainder of the contract

Deposits

Activation fees for water, electricity and sanitation at the new premises

All moving costs involved

All and any legal costs that occurs from here on forward

Claimed loss: R22,400.00 DepositR2,104.50 Service feeR8,500.00 Moving feeR2,450.00 Water and electricity activation fee.And whichever fees that will come from this whole unfair situation.

Desired outcome: All expenses paid including remainder of the lease agreement rental amounts, which is R12,200.00 for remainder months which is up until January 2025.
