ScoreSense.com took money, never heard of them!

I was directed to annualcreditreport.com, to check on my disabled daughters credit report, to
Make sure she wasn't scammed. I found after entering my info that I had to do this in writing,
Which is fine...
However this company score sense that I have never seen and never heard of, hits my account for 19.95.
Out of the blue.
I finally got a "rep" on the line (in ohio) and he hemmed and hawed, and I told him that I would make a police report and submit a complaint to the ftc. Check out google "complaints score sense" there are dozens of complaints on this very company for this reason. They did send me a cancellation email, and said they would refund my money (that they never should have had, because I never gave them info).
This also makes me wonder how secure the "annualcreditreport.com" site really is? Or are they a scam too?
Stealing from honest people, trying to safeguard credit...

ScoreSense.com fraud charges

This is a sad day in america when a company can pretend to help you recieve your three free credit reports from the credit companies, but actually set you up to be ripped off by them. This company has a fraudulent set-up adverstising on the internet to help you get your free credit reports, and only charge you a process fee of $1. However, three days later you are charged $29.95 out of your account and when you call them for a refund, you are given bs after bs. I say some of us consumers should rally together and go after them.

I definitely agree. I just called to question this charge and got a lot of "run around" questions. You'd think I had been charging them. This is a crime - or at least it should be. Can't the Federal Consumer Assistance Programs help? How can they continue to rip off unsuspecting individuals with no repercussions? I am a widow - retired and on a fixed budget. It's crooks like this that make my life a challenge.

ScoreSense.com scoring service inaccurate

While repairing my credit I wanted to refinance my mortgage and take advantage of the low rates. I logged on with scoresense to track my scores to know when I should apply for a refinance. The scoring logic they use does not align with the fico standard. The scores they provided me were 70 points different than what the mortgage company pulled. So now I have a hard inquiry and was unable to refinance and stuck with a $29.95 fee that they refuse to refund. They are providing a worthless service and taking advantage of consumers. They should be shut down.

ScoreSense.com unauthorized credit card deduction

On approxiametly sept.?, 2011, I was on computer and saw an ad for a credit score that was free, but after I put in information I realized it was not free. I proceeded to back out of application as I did not want to purchase. I thought it had been cancelled it out. A week later on sept.11, 2011 I found out my credit card account was charged $39.99, upon investigation into what this deduction was I was informed that the company score sense was the company that deducted my account. I immediately contacted your company as soon as I found out how to reach you. I called the #[protected] and talked to a gentleman for at least 20 mins, he kept offering me lower prices to keep the acct. I told him no that I did not want it or need it. He even offered to pay it for a month free if I kept it. I still refused. He then informed me he would cancel the acct. And I would get a reply back in my email acct, which I never did receive. Called again after the money was not put back in my acct. Called 1-8oo-679-5283 and talked to a women and explained to her what happened. She informed me that they have no record of my previous call. I don't under stand why. He even gave me a i. D. # which was 1589252. The lady informed me she would cancel it again and I would get a reply in a couple of days in my e-mail. I did finally receive an e-mail that I was denied my refund. I immediately called score sense. This time I asked to speak to a supervisor and she gave me customer care score sense.com whom I believe I have contacted here.

I was on computer in December 2012 and saw an ad for a free credit score but after I put in my information I realized it was not free and proceeded to cancel the application because I didn't want to purchase anything. I thought it was cancelled. Then you started deducting $29.95 a month from my credit card account, this went on for 4-months. When I found out where the charges were coming from, I immediately contacted Score Sense and talked to your representative, Mike Vargas, who informed me that he would cancel the account and gave me a confirmation #5802757 and said I would have to go on line to see if I could recover any of my money. This is the second time I have attempted to contact you to settle this dispute. I have not received any e-mail from you about this to date. I never even received the "FREE" credit score that has cost me $110.80 to date. I have closed my account to prevent you from further damages to our account and I'm demanding full restitution for the illegal charges you made to my card. You took money from my account without my consent, and I want it back...all of it! I'm posting this with scoresense.com. whom I believe I have contacted here. James K Smith

Score Sense stole $110.80 from my credit card account over a 3-month period and I want it back. You are a scam company, you lure people in with an advertisement of a free credit score, only to get information to rip off their credit card or bank accounts. Last time I looked, this was illegal ! I have contacted you several times without any response and I am prepared to take further action if this is not resolved. Please give this matter your complete attention...Now! I'm sure you have the information to contact me, you sure did know how to steal my money! James K Smith

Score Sense took money from my husbands account without authorization six times and then when we complained and asked for a refund they conjured up some dates saying that we had been in business with them longer that we have, they are some serious crooks. We signed up through another company Jan. 2012 that required to have your credit score and we were not informed that this was a free trial and would have to pay. They tried to say that we signed up in Sept. of 2011. that means they were taking money like every two weeks and my husbands bank finally called and said there were unusual transactions. They are seriously into fraud.

This just happened to me! Damn small print! I thought I was signing up for a free month with a refundable 1.00 charge to my credit card. They were jerks when I canceled and they promised I will get a letter from their corporate about refunding the charges. They denied my refund on 3 months of service ( I never logged into the account)
Oh and to top it off they proceded to charge me again this month after canceling last month! SCAMMERS!

ScoreSense.com unauthorized charges from my account

When my bank updated their system they offered a one time free credit score from the 3 credit score companies. Going through my account I discovered a withdrawal of $1.00 on 09/27/2011 and on 10/o4/2011 an additional withdrawal for $29.95. I did not authorize these withdrawals and am seeking ot have my account credited with above amounts. I did not expect this to happen and am very angry about it, it makes me not trust anything or anybody on this internet.

Applied for a credit report through annual credit report.com - AKA: Score Sense. I would be charged a $1.00, refundable at cancellation. To cancel, you need to call them EXCEPT you cannot find a phone number or account number. Finally found it by calling my credit card company. My first call ended with talking with someone that I could not understand, static and a disconnect as soon as I said, "I wanted to cancel". Second phone call I talked with a representative with a foreign accent, (what a surprise!) that did not understand the word "CANCEL". I accused them of scamming me, hiding their phone number, spending two days trying to contact them, hanging up on me. They have not credited my credit card as yet - working on that - principal you know. During this time he continued to try to sell me other choices and continued to ignore what I was saying. They are out and out scammers!

ScoreSense.com unauthorized credit card charges

Since february, of 2011 score sense has charged my credit card $29.95 monthly for a service of monitoring my credit cards against fraudulent activiity. I have never contracted for this service, and do not recognize this company. The credit card involved is discover card and filing a complaint against score sense's charges with discover card resulted in their launching an investigation of these charges. I have since received a letter from discover card that I am indeed responsible for these charges and they will not acknowledge that I never did subscribe for services with score sense. Given this from discover card, I am forced to close my account with them to prevent these monthly charges continuing ad infinitum.

Score sense appears to have my e mail address, home address, and obviously my discover card number. How this occurred is baffling to me and I can only conjecture that I am the victim of some form of computer fraud.

I plan to file a police report and also a complaint with the federal government, the office of the comptroller of currency.

This is all too real! We had the exact thing happen to us but this dated back almost a decade. Scoresense got a hold of our Chase card after our card was paid off and closed and continued to charge the card $29.95 a month for 6 yrs, and we had no idea because we thought the card was closed and paid off.. In July of 2019 it was discovered that Scoresense had placed 6 yrs of payments to this card. We got on a 3 way call with Chase and Scoresense and it was very scary they had our card information, address, email, etc. Chase found these as non-fraud because Scoresense had so much person information on us.. We just had to write a check to Chase for $1, 000. Makes me sick! What this company is doing should be illegal. The customer service rep on the phone from Scoresense (Leah) sounds like like she was 16 and reading off a script and was zero help.. I wish there was a way to escalate !

I signed up thinking the $1 was all that had to pay for the the free credit score. I was charged $29.95 within a week of the $1 charge, I immediately called Score Sense and requested my $29.95 back. The customer service rep kept trying to talk me into this monthly fee that I never agreed to in the first place! After sternly telling her no several times - she finally agreed to refund me. The refund was for the $1 only, which she never was clear about. You can keep the $1 - I wanted my $29.95 back! I had to call back to request my $29.95 back. I received an email rejecting the request for an refund. I am now on the phone with my bank - this is fraud. DO NOT QUOTE ONE DOLLAR AMOUNT and then charge another. That is deceptive marketing! You can get your credit score for free on Credit Karma anyway! What fraudulent, scam!

Signed up to view free credit. Canceled my subscription within 1 week. Yet I was quietly billed for 17months at the rate of $39.95 for a total of $680. They refused to give me back my money. At the end only gave me $120. Very difficult customer service. Scammers that I did not request their service. They don't provide any significant service except being good at quietly billing consumers.

I have been using my ScoreSense since February 2013. My agreement with them $9.95 per month which I've paid 63 months of that price.

They have recently changed their credit reporting interface/website and I am not able to see the "Account ALERTS" anymore. I wait for 3 days then gave them a call this morning.

They said in order to see my Alerts I have to pay $12.99. It is a stupid thing. I had an agreement and I should be able to see my Alerts in my membership. But the representative canceled my membership right away because they want more money! There are many free credit reporting systems and they are honest I am sure.

Don't trust SCORESENSE at all.

Please stay away...

ScoreSense.com unauthorized permission to take money out of my bank account

For several days during the beginning of this month, I had been monitoring my activity and balance on my bank website. Each time I would sign into my account, I wasn’t allowed to view my statements because a message alerted me, which appeared to keep coming from my bank site, that there had been a breach with account holder’s personal information. It stated that the bank was offering all customers a free credit report because of this reason. It also stated for security reasons, customers had to enter in there credit card number and the card was going to be billed $1.00 for verification purposes but refunded back immediately. I had no reason to believe that this information was not coming from my credit union because I do not get pop up’s and this information somehow appeared as if it was on the banks website, after which I had also completely signed in to view my balance/activity. After the third time seeing this message, I was concerned and took it seriously because of the august 11 or 15 deadline that was posted for all account holders. (I also didn’t know how long the bank was posting this message without my knowledge)
However, I checked my account a week later and saw that the $1.00 had not yet been refunded so I decided to wait a few more days before contacting my bank to inform them that I had not received my $1.00 credit. But when I looked at my account with only $53.00 in it and no gas in my car, I also noticed that there was another fee for $29.95 and the $1.00 had not been refunded. On saturday evening, my bank was closed but sometimes they will provide telephone numbers for most card transactions. I called scoresense on late saturday august 14, 2011, but the office was closed. I called back again on sunday august 14, 2011 at 1:10pm, which is closer to there central standard time sunday hours 12-6pm. I spoke to a young lady representative, who stated I was charged for being a member. I then stated to her and to the company by way of other phone calls and emails, I wouldn’t have a reason to pay for services that my bank already provide for a low monthly fee to all of account holders. She stated that if I wanted my $1.00 refund all I had to do was call them….. But daaaaaa! How would l know to call & ask for a refund if I thought it was coming from my bank? She also stated that a refund request would be put in for the $29.95 sunday but it will take the company two days to get back to me. What the company fell to realize is that most of us now get emails on our phone so they tried to send me an email about 7:40pm and I feel when they thought I wouldn’t be able to respond right away. I called and spoke to another customer service rep. And I replied to customer service email twice. I spoke to my bank and my attorney and I will speak to the both of them first thing in the morning. I know that we have turned into a cashless society but we really need to get back to using cash. Also i’m heading out of time for 10 days and I will not have any way to withdraw money from my account because my bank do not have a branch where i’m heading…shdm, this is ridiculous but I will not let up on them. I’m determined I will get every penny back. Can you imagine if they took $29.95 from a million people and get away with it.. Hymmmmm. However, I plan to keep you all posted with the outcome of this tragedy.

I submitted a request on scoresence for my credit report. I read all the information and I was told that I would be change $1. 7 days later i'm reviewing my bank statement and there is a 29.95 charge from them as well as the 1 charge. I'm okay with paying for a service but they do not provide all needed information on the enrollment website. This information should have been clearly stated. They are now refusing to refund the amount but they did ccept my cancelation request... If I have to pay for this month... I should also have full use of the services that i'm paying for. ScoreSense.com will not refund the money you pay a month in advanced

You pay a month in advanced for this so when you call to cancel you expect to get your refund or the use of the site till your moneys worth is gone well guess what they dont do either wont refund my money I have done the free trial paid last month and wanted to cancel this month and they said they are going to submit for my refund, well they did here is the email response
Dear deborah,

After careful review of your scoresense account, we have determined that we're unable to approve your request for a refund for the charge of $29.95 that occurred on 7/23/2011. Your request was denied because you requested the refund after your initial free trial period expired or because there is not enough information to substantiate a fraud claim.

If you have any further questions, please call us at 1- (monday through friday 8 am – 8 pm cst, saturday 8 am – 5 pm cst or sunday 12 pm – 6 pm cst).

I am so pissed at Scoresense. I signed up for the free trial, $1.00 was taken off my card then $29.95 was taken off. I called customer service, the young lady was very nice, she said she would submit my cancellation and request for a refund. 3 days later I recieved the same email as debby090. I called customer service again, this time I got a smart mouthed guy, he said " well the company doesnt sit around looking to take money from (he said my name). Then he said he will submit another request. I already know what the next email will say. SAME THING. If anyone has a solution or even if there is a class action suit, please contact tmw7322@yahoo.com

Yeah, I got the same email. How do we protect ourselves against these thieves? Surely with such a scam someone is doing something to protect us? Or is this another case of lining the upper official pocket's with gold and turning a blind eye?

ScoreSense.com unauthorized charges to my card

I signed up for this service online to obtain my credit report once only! They have been charging my card for $30 for the past 3 months without my permission. Their call center was out of the u. S ad they would not give me their contact information!

This type of marketing and sign up process is very deceptive and they know it!

Please beware!

I just had the same situation occur. I signed up for the 1.00 report, but once I got it, I realized they were talking all these "services" which likely would mean MORE MONEY?. Then ten minutes later, I recieved this email:

Me Again... Notice that they say NOTHING about the actual cost. So I immediately called the number (my membership existed for all of 30 minutes) and spoke with a rep there. I told her that this was ridiculous and that the fact they are dealing with peoples credit AND being shady about the use of MY credit at the same time was a major RED FLAG. I also informed them that I know they are in Texas and I have an attorney on file IN TEXAS and will certainly be monitoring THEM. If they so much as charge me ONE DIME I will be pursuing them legally. Companies like this one should be shut down as soon as possible.

I have gotten the same letter and there was no mention of a monthly fee of 29.95 but they took it anyway. They need to be put out of business and I am going to go out of my way to try and make that possible. First I had them blocked from my bank account, now I'm calling the better business b., and I blog for a living so I'm going after any new costumers they may of gotten and let them know that this site is a scam. By the time I'm done with them I'll cost them way more then 30 bucks. It just isn't right and evil needs to put in their place with evil. They picked the wrong guy to rip off.

having the same problem here is the letter they sent me after my account was canceled!

Sincerely,

ScoreSense Customer Care

I too was scammed like all the others. It seems to me that the BBB needs to look into all these complaints. I too was told ther was no charge except for one dollar and that I would get it back. There was never any mention of a membership or fee for such. The peron on the phoneI spoke with said I would have to file a police report for fraud to get my money back! I beleve our Police Dept has beter things to do than this when the company could take care of it with a simple refund to my account! All I want is my money and me "MEMBERSHIP" closed. How hard can that be? susand48

This company should be fined by who ever can fine them. They tell you $1.00 for your credit scores and then u find out they withdrew $29.95 from your account, this is considered fraud in my book. plan and simple, I've told all my friends and family members to look out for this shameless company. It's FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD, I authorized $1.00 not $29.95. And i want it returned to my account. Shame on Scoresense.

Yes i too was scamed by this site..I agreed to the refundable $1 charge to my debit card and it wasnt until i checked my balance, did i realize that they had set me up for a free 7 day trial and then afterwards a membership for $29.95...I called and they made this excuse of the membership agreement being located in the billing information section/ and terms and conditions. They said the email i was supposed to receieve may have been located in my spam mail...well hell i dont check spam mail, r u serious! Ok so the customer service agent agreed to refund my money back and specifically told me it would take 4 days... But why the hell did he refund $1 back? And how the hell would i be waiting 4 business days for a dollar to be returned..But guess what! when i called back the customer service agent told me that it goes to corporate and their the ones who denied me my refund..not to mention if i did pay for this membership, where is this exceptional service you promised me? I could probably eat the $29.95 lose if u at least gave me what i didnt agree to pay for! But in the end, i received absolutely nothing from you! My mother always said that corporate would f*** u raw with no vaseline, bt dam i was expecting to take it in the a**..Im not here to pay your house notes, car notes, put your kids through college, or send you on vacation, and get nothing in return..THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!

They got my info. then charged me the $1.00-said it was totally free will refund $1.00. Then I check my account to find out they took out $29.95 . I don't remember seeing any where it said that after 7 days that I would be charged for a month for $29.95 . When I called I clearly stated that I wanted to cancel the account, and that I wanted a full refund for everything. The girl said that she would refund everything and close the account. Then I get a letter today-saying that I get my $1.00 back in 3-5 days but it doesn't state that the account is closed.
It did state that I would not get my $29.95 back. I want my money back-had I known there would be a charge other than the $1.00 I wouldnot have gone through with it because I don't have much $$$ to start with. I want it back this is a rip off !

ScoreSense.com unauthorized fee charged account

I entered information online to obtain a "free credit score" from the company scoresense... Now there is a $29.95 charge pending on my bank account without my authorization - or any indication that there would be such a fee when dealing with scoresense. I will dispute this charge! And vigorously. I hate getting scammed online - and something has to be done about such companies.

Watch out - scoresense is a scam for free credit score.

ScoreSense.com fraudulent withdrawal from banking account

When checking my account to my online bank. Scoresense popup came up and said that all m&I customers our computers were recently hacked into and today you can get a free credit report to be sure nothing on your credit report has changed. It went something like that. So stupid me did it. I really thought the bank had been hacked. Scoresense took out $1.00 and then took out $29.95 a few days later. I called the company and they said they would return my $1.00, which takes 3 to 5 business days but would not return my $29.95. I got the run around, this company is a fraud, scam, etc., do not trust this company.

I am on the phone now with Wells Fargo: it is a big scam and score sense is taking advantage of thousands of people by stealing money out of their account without permission. I don't know who at Wells Fargo can file a legal claim against this company but they need to do that ASAP. If this is a marketing promotion that Wells [censored]o knowingly coordinated with this company then they are to blame as well.
I suggest that someone at wells fargo stop using a secure on line banking site where people go into look at their mortgages and account balances or transactions, as a way to promote a service that is clearly a dis-honest company that takes advantage of consumers. Score-sense must be run by an unethical group of people who profit off of others illegally. Perhaps the federal government and consumer protection agency should dive into this company. I am sick of people that take advantage of others to profit, and hope they find a special place in HELL.

READ IF U WANT YOUR MONEY BACK!
I WAS WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY FIRST OF ALL THEY ARE NOT LOCATED IN DALLAS TX, THEY ARE IN COSTA RICA... THEY ARE A REAL SCAM, THEY CHARGE THE $1 SUPPOSEDLY FOR A FREE CHECKING OR 7 DAY TRIAL, WITH REALLY SMALL LETTERS SAYING THAT AFTER THE 7TH DAY TRIAL IT WILL BE A CHARGE OF $29.95 THAT OF-COURSE CITIZEN PEOPLE ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE, THE LETTERS ARE TOO SMALL.

ITS AN AUTOMATIC CHARGE AFTER THE 7TH DAY, AND THE MEMBERSHIP ITS AUTOMATICALLY CREATED WITHOUT ANY AUTHORIZATION, AND THE PEOPLE CALLED TO GET THEIR MONEY BACK AND ITS DENIED BECAUSE OF ILLOGICAL REASONS, WE USED TO SENT A REFUND REQUEST TO CORPORATE OFFICE IN DALLAS TX, AND THE ONLY WAY TO REFUND THE MONEY ITS IF THE CUSTOMER SAYS THE TRIGGER WORDS [BBB] [FRAUD] [ATTORNEY] [BANK] [CHARGE BACK] [GRAIG LIST]... THAT'S THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK! SO GOOD LUCK, IM GLAD IM NOT WORKING FOR THEM ANY MORE CAUSE THEY JUST PAY $5 PER HOUR AND FOR RETAIN CLIENTS OTHER WISE THEY FIRE U... I'M NOT THE KIND OF PEOPLE I LIKE TO LIE... SO CALL THEM AND COMPLAIN AND GET YOUR MONEY CAUSE ITS A REAL SCAM

ScoreSense.com account draft

This company is really pissing me off because they have fraudently taken money out of my moms account for my credit report and they keep taking money out every month when I cancelled their services 2 weeks after using them. Its been 4 months now and they are still drafting the acct and won't refund anything. They need their # chewed about the scams they are pulling because this is getting ridiculous. The customer service is poor and it makes no sense that they don't have a corporate office number.

After reading other complaints about score sense, mine is about identical to all the others. I paid 1.00 for a free trail, really I just needed a credit report, and about a week later I was charged 29 dollars with no warning, and no authorization of this activated service. I called to cancel the service, explained the situation, and requested a refund. My request was dined because the refund was "requested after the communicated billing date", I find if was impossible to comply for that fact that I was not aware of the charge, I did not sign up for the monthly service, and I was not given this "date of communication billing date". I find it very suspicious that it is this easy to "sign" up for this service. 29 dollars might not seem like a lot of money but it is to me, especially a week before pay day ( I easily could have over drafted if I did not catch this charge).

Back in April I must have signed up with Score sense for what I thought was $1.00. The next three months, not knowing, my account was over drawn May and June.
Score sense took out $29.95. I finally found out this month because I started asking questions. I wish I would have asked sooner.
I live on $860.00 a month.
I would have never knowingly signed up with a company who would take out 29.95. For me that's more than a weeks worth of groceries.
I'm extremely disappointed.

Score Sense withdraw the total amount of $ 59.90 from my banking account without my authorization. Someone got a hold of my online login in information and activated the account. I called up Score Sense and made a compliant regarding this matter. I did not go online and activate an account with Score sense and authorized them to with draw anything from my account. Someone took my information and was able to sign on and subscribe to Score Sense. I have reported this fraud action to www.ic3.gov . I want my credit card to be refunded the amount taken out of my account. I cancelled this account last year and did not want this so I do not know how this happened but I want it fixed and the amount of $59.90 credit back to my account. This company has been charging my credit card $29.95 A MONTH since July of 2017 without my permission. I have never approved, nor given any of my information to this company, yet they have it all and charging me every month! They say it could be that somebody entered my information to see if my credit is any good before they commit fraud on my name to see how much credit that somebody could get! This is outrageous! I am filing a complaint with the Oklahoma City Police Depsartment as well as the FBI fraud department. I demand a refund for the past 3 months I have been charged and my "supposed" account with Score Sense has been cancelled.

Look - All be aware! This company score sense is directly attached to FREE CREDIT SCORE AGENCIES. The $1.00 asked for quickly turns into monthly charges of $29.00 on the same credit card used. They insist you sign up for the service and quickly explains the exact time and date you visited their sight which in fact is the same date and time you request your FREE CREDIT SCORE!

Please consumers, find another way to retrieve your annual free credit report OR you will subject yourself to this business mis-conduct from Score Sense.

I am going to contact my Credit Card company and shift the responsibility to them. Score sense managed to take $29.00 from my Credit card 4 times in 2 months. BE AWARE!

I paid off the balance on my credit card, or so I thought I did, until I notice I was charged $29.99 from OTL AKA Score Sense. I immediately called my credit card company and they had informed me I was being automatically charged $29.99 to my credit card every month since October, and it is now April. I don't ever recall even being on their website or signing up for anything, and if I did, it was only a free trial. This company is a bunch of crooks! I just disputed the charges through my credit card company and they are going to investigate this. They owe me over $200! If anyone has a class action lawsuit going on them, let me know because I'm in on getting these crooks!

I received an e-mail that for 1 dollar i could see my credit scores.I did this and 1 dollar was deducted from my checking account.I then looked online and an e-mail was there for a 29.95 dollar deduction for a membership.I did not authorize this and i'm very upset it was deducted.I spoke to someone that answers the phone at your company and they said it would be sent to customer care.It was and the reply was a form letter that there was nothing that they could do because it wasn't a fraud case.I will take this even further if its not refunded to my account .I see that there are quite a few other complaints about the same problem.
