And there's another born every minute. I actually can't believe that anyone takes this seriously anymore. Nigerian Scams are all over the internet. Am I to really believe that you think a someone who doesn't know is just going to send you a check for 2 million dollars? I don't know how to break this to you but this is not true the only person sending money is going to be you to them if you reply.

I' m so thankful that I checked this scam out before I did anything else...It's ironic that it showed up when it did because I was considering applying for a grant to start up a new business.
Beware anything coming from Nigeria, right?

I think they do something to track who is looking up grants because I am doing grants as well to start up a new business and got this. Do they really think that people will send them money? Frankly you may as well say if this is real then pull the insurance and shipping fees (shipping fees for a check?) out of the 2 million and send it to me. If they say no then obviously its a scam. I mean really, if they were serious about sending you 2 million bucks, they would do it that way. But then I'm a bit cynical regarding things like that, especially when you notice that "50 other recipients will recieve 2 million dollars." So they expect us to believe that Shell is giving out 100 million dollars yearly? Yeah right, Shell would be broke with a quickness. How silly.

I knew this was a scam. I should have known it! I was also online looking for grants to start my own business when I got this e-mail. These people definitely had me fooled until the final e-mail requesting the 360.00 in insurance money. I feel like everyone else, If they are sending me 2 million dollars why not just take the insurance money out of the grant reward money. I SHOULD HAVE KNOW THIS WAS JUST ANOTHER SCAM!

Today, I received the exact email Starr received two days ago. I too watch out for emails from Nigeria. I have not sent any information, but I am curious as to what reply I will receive if I sent my information. Would it be the same as Tiffany's ? I agree with all of you.
I especially agree with 8 days ago by Lisa:

These people really do prey on those who are in dire need of money for survival or a business.

I found some people have lots of time or a computer that does it for them but they type in email addresses that they are not sure go to anyone incase one of the 100 they send to makes it.

saw a bunch that were for [protected]@y.com [protected]@y.com and so on just trying to find someone out of thin air.
like when we were kids and we used to dial a number with same area code as a late night prank.

I am in toutch with The Shell Foundation. Hopefully we will all have our answer soon enough. My excitment overcame me when I first noticed this offer! This has never happened to me before. Now I'm hell bent on either: 1.) Establishing the credibility of this offer. Or: 2.) Discovering and unveiling the identity of these scammers, and filing suit, as mentioned above. Apparently this has been happening for some time now! I say enough!

I got this email just as you all did. I recently went on line in search of different grant options so that I could start a business. A few wks later I got this message. I was excited about the possibility and then I started think about all of the lies that I've heard before when people say they'll help with n e thing and do whatever they can to help and then they don't. So at that time I started thinking why in the hell would a BILLION DOLLAR oil company help little old me instead of somone else. Among futher researching to see If there is n e truth to this, I ran across this site. If there is n e truth to this --I WANT (NEED) MY MONEY- witout having to pay out of pocket, the ins. cost... I'm with everyone who's willing to get together and sue.

Ok well Here is your answers. To all who actually replied to this stupid email: This is the original and let me just say I can't believe that anyone would reply to this: The places where you are looking for grants are giving your information out! They are skeeming off people who need money and are willing to take a chance to get it. So they dont' care if they take the last dollar you have why: BECAUSE THEY ARE GETTING IT!

And as far as a Lawsuite goes you can forget it! This company probably has nothing to do with this scam at all infact they probably don't even know it's happening. They put the name of a trillion dollar company that is legit so people will be more gulable and then instead of contacting the UK your cantacting AFRICA!!! HELLO! Come on people smarten up please! Don;t respond to this crap! Atleast LOOK it up before you go sending information about yourself! ANY INFO! I am happy to inform you that I made the effort to contact "Royal Dutch Shell of UK" and notify them of this email and inquire on it's reliability for everyone and it is false and you should see national reports early next week notifying the public of this scam, furthermore Your welcome and if I had two mill to give to each of you I would not hesitate because the needy are where these scam artists prey and I'm truely sorry this is a scam because I sure could use 2 million as well!

I have also received a similar e-mail few days back and since I am a student and teacher and had been applying for assistance and grants actually got excited that I have been given the grant. This is an emotional and disturbing thing and the culprits should be caught and the victims like us be given justice and compensated by the government of Nigeria for their citizens misusing my name as my name was even printed on the cheque inthe amount of U.S $2 Million. Coudl you please clear this and compensate me for your citizen using my name without my knowledge.

I want to be legally compensated by Shell International Grant Award committee for some one from their company misusing my name using on the Shell International Grant check.

If this award is real I would love to have it as I am a student and a teacher who would like a little monetary assistance, why say no to a good offer if it is a real Grant from Royal Dutch Shell International Grant Award.

I too, lit up a bit with the same notification of being selected as a recepient of two million dollars just for having an email address. The grant from, you guessed it...Royal Dutch Shell International Grant Award...If they can offer to send me that much money, they could surely deduct the cost of sending me the grant...If fact, they could keep a couple of thousand just for their time and trouble. Its a shame that people like that are allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us.
good luck to all of you, and one day the tide may turn and your ship may come in.

I also received this award notification, and the Royal Dutch Shell Corporation does have an award, but it is not chosen by e-mails. It is chosen at random by a charitable organization in the U.K. I also believe that they should find who is doing this and stop them from ruining the award. This is just my personal belief on this matter.

Just to let everyone out there know I am a mother of two who has a disabled child. I was looking for a grant to start a non-profit organization to raise awareness about the blood disorder crippling my child. A few days ago I received the same e-mail. Money isn't just going to fall into our laps we have to work hard for it. Writing grant letters and appeals to those grant letters. People are struggling and everyone knows it...Don't take this the wrong way but if your tough you'll get going right about now. 95% of offers sent to you are scams believe it!

I rec'd the same email about a week ago. I was about to send the $360.00 when I was advise by a friend that when she rec'd grant money she did not have to pay a dime for it. The person ssending you the funds is responsible for all the insurance and whatever else needs to take place so that you can rec;d the funds that are going to be given to you. She has rec'd grant money before and said that it does not come easy to get and they usually phone you over the phone or send you something in the mail first to notify you and it is not in the millions but more like $5, 000. Just wanted to pass this information on. Thanks you have save me from SCAMMED

I have the same story. I did reply with alligations that they were a scam and how sad I was that they played such creul jokes on people hoping to get something from people that are honestly working and struggling.
Same notification Same Mr.Chris Duke Probably the same Nigerian Insurance Ministry.
Someone should make them pay something to all those they try to deceive.

I also was searching for grants and not even 2 days later I recieved the same e-mail. I agree something has to be done to stop fraud e-mails like this one. In today economy getting to be a struggle from paycheck to paycheck we all were hoping for a break I guess.
