Roomster Mixed Feelings About Roomster - A Review of the Roommate-Finding App

I've been trying out Roomster for a while now and I have mixed feelings about it. While the layout is nice and easy to navigate, the quality of potential roommates leaves a lot to be desired. It seems like everyone I've talked to so far is either a sociopath, liar, narcissist, or thief (with a record of burglary or assault, no less!). And don't get me started on the ones who can't even pay their rent for more than a month before sneaking out in the middle of the night, leaving me high and dry.

There was even one guy who locked himself in his bedroom and refused to come out until the police showed up! Thankfully, I work on a project for the Pentagon with top-secret clearance, so all of my electronics have GPS enabled on them. Not that these delinquents even realize that.

I know it's not like the good old days of the 1980s when you could find a roommate with actual references and a good income to cover the rent. Back in San Francisco, you couldn't even dream of finding a two-bedroom apartment for less than $2000 a month. But here in Fort Worth in 2021, it seems like only the deadbeats can't qualify for an apartment.

Anyway, I'm going to give Roomster one more shot before I head back to Florida. Hopefully, I can find someone who's not a complete flake.

Roomster Beware of Roomster: A Shady Website with Scammers Galore

This website ain't all that, to be honest. I decided to take the plunge and sign up for a 5 day trial 'cuz, ya know, I thought I'd give it a try. But unbeknownst to me, they didn't just charge me the $7.95 for those 5 days - they automatically renewed my account with a $24.95 monthly subscription fee. And guess what? They didn't even tell me! No notifications, no emails, nothin'! For a website that claims to be all legit and stuff, that's pretty darn SHADY if ya ask me.

Anyways, I only found out that they charged me twice for this nonsense, 5 days after my trial ended and then again on October 18th, two months later. And when I tried to get in touch with their customer service, lemme tell ya, it was a joke. Most places that do online subscriptions will usually refund ya if ya didn't know about the charges, or even if ya cancelled after the billing period. But not this place. The guy I spoke to was useless, and didn't help me at all.

And if that wasn't bad enough, most of the profiles on this website are straight up SCAMMERS. Like, what kind of legit business lets this kinda thing happen? And the fact that they'd save my credit card information online? Honestly, that's just plain SHADY.

So if ya ask me, I'd give Roomster a hard pass. Ain't worth the headache or the heartache.

Roomster Roomster Review: Beware of Scams and Sketchy "Landlords

I recently signed up for Roomster to find myself a cozy place to stay in. After throwing some money their way to activate my account, I was instantly blasted with calls and texts from at least 5 different people. They all promised me beautiful rooms for me to rent, complete with fancy pictures to up the ante. However, alarm bells started ringing in my head when I noticed some of those pictures looked like they were snagged off legitimate real estate websites.

But that's not all folks! When I enquired about seeing the houses in person, these scammers would make up all sorts of cock-and-bull stories just to keep me interested. "Oh, I'm not actually in town right now", "You can't see it unless you pay a month's rent and deposit first", "You need to pay the application fees now, then you'll get access to the house", you name it, they said it.

When I insisted on visiting the rooms before committing to anything, they would palm me off with sketchy addresses and tell me to drive past just to take a peek. "If you don't like it, we'll refund your money no problem", they'd say. Well, that's all fine and dandy, but why do I have to pay first to see something that might not even exist the way they've described it?

I will say that the one bright spot in all this was the staff at Roomster. They were patient and understanding with me as I sifted through all the potential scams, and they were quick to offer solutions to any issues I brought up. However, their website doesn't seem to be doing a good job of filtering out the fakes from the real deals, which can be frustrating and even lead to monetary loss for someone just trying to find a decent place to live.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Roomster for those seeking a reliable source for housing. The potential scourge of scams and money-grabbing "landlords" could very easily end up costing you more than just a few bucks.

Roomster Improvements Needed: Glitches and Missed Opportunities on Roomster

There's been a lot of glitches in this website that I think could be improved. Namely, I always expect potential roommates to have a profile picture, and I always ask anyone who messages me to have a completed profile with a picture attached. Sometimes I am shown a screenshot of their profiles with pictures, but they will not show up on their actual accounts. This is frustrating because I want to see who I'll be possibly living with.

Another issue is that the website doesn't provide a broad range of lifestyle questions to determine if a potential roommate is a match. For example, there is no option to indicate whether I prefer to live with a male or female, if I want to live with someone who has pets or no pets, if I'm okay with kids or not, or if I prefer a shared bathroom or a private bathroom. These should be basic preferences that the website should ask so that potential roommates can find the best possible match.

A big frustration for me with Roomster is that as long as I have used it, they haven't updated any of these preferences, yet they continue to increase their prices. This strikes me as unfair because if they're going to charge more, they should be improving the website. Adding more preferences would be a simple and easy way to make the website more user-friendly.

Lastly, I had issues verifying my phone number because it turned out I had another account connected to that number. I have no idea how this happened, but when I tried to reach out to support, they weren't much help. This was disappointing because good customer service is important for maintaining loyal customers.

Overall, while Roomster has potential to be a great website, there are a lot of glitches and missed opportunities that detract from the overall experience. I hope they will take some of these issues into consideration and improve the site.

Roomster Avoid Roomster: Terrible Interface, Limited Filters, Spam Messages, and Overpriced Service

I wouldn't even wish this website on my worst enemy. The interface is pure garbage. As if that wasn't enough, their customer service is just plain terrible. The services provided are false. I am extremely disappointed in it. It's just an overpriced Craiglist.

I had to override the social media requirement before I could access my account. I was also required to authorize my ID before I could even think about getting into my account. It was an absolute nightmare. Finally getting into the account, I discovered that the filter options are extremely limited and my inbox was full of spam messages.

To top it all off, the map feature didn't allow me to zoom in. The majority of the ads were spam and didn't even have any pictures. I was trying to search for an entire unit, but I kept being shown room shares. Each time I clicked something, I would have to reload the previous page and it seemed like all the results would randomly change. It didn't matter if I was using my desktop or my cell phone, the website was just as bad on both.

In the first few minutes of using Roomster, I had already received five spam messages. I was super disappointed with the whole experience. I would really like a refund for both my membership and ID verification.

As a Californian, I would like to have all my data deleted from their system. Unfortunately, the company refused to correct the situation. They claimed that I agreed to their unfair terms and conditions when I signed up, which is a complete violation of the Privacy Act.

Roomster Mixed Bag of Experiences with Roomster: A Review of the Apartment-Hunting Platform

So I signed up for Roomster and at first everything was smooth sailing. I found a room that I was interested in and started chatting with the landlord. But before I knew it, my account was closed and they were only accepting phone numbers. This was a major bummer because I had some important conversations going on that I can no longer access.

However, I have to say that one of my experiences with Roomster was quite eventful. I found a room with a lovely family and moved in. At first, I loved it there. The house was always bustling with activity and there was never a dull moment. But things started to take a turn when the landlord didn't approve of another woman who was around her age in the house with her husband. I can't say I didn't understand where she was coming from, but it still made things awkward.

Then there was an issue with the noise level in the house. The family was great, but they had friends and relatives over all the time and it was getting to be too much. They even had a holiday party every week! I really loved the energy in the house, but it was just too loud for me to handle. Plus, my stay was abruptly cut short when a cousin of theirs came to live with them and I was asked to leave earlier than I thought I would. It was a bit of a mess, but I can't say I didn't enjoy my time with the people there.

All in all, Roomster can be a bit of a mixed bag. I did have some unfortunate experiences with it, but I also had some positive ones. It's certainly worth checking out if you're in the market for a new living situation, just be prepared for a few bumps in the road.

Roomster Roomster Review: Say Goodbye to Apartment Hunting Woes!

It was a heck of a ride trying to find an apartment that suits my needs. Working from Monday to Friday, I had very little time to check out properties on the weekdays. So, I had to rely on weekends to find good deals but often it ended up being a painful and lengthy process. Most ads I saw were either already taken or didn’t match my criteria. Even those who responded would either reject me instantly or keep me hanging with no clear answer if the place was still on the market.

Desperate to find a solution, I scoured through the internet trying to find an easier way to look for apartments. I landed on Roomster and decided to go with their paid assistant option. To my surprise, I was given numerous options almost immediately after paying. Then, a manager reached out and suggested tweaking the search criteria, which resulted in even more options to choose from.

One of the best things about Roomster is their verification process. Once I found a place that caught my eye, I could send it for verification and, in return, receive a report from specialists on whether it was worth considering or not. This definitely saved me a lot of time, effort, and heartache.

If I could recommend anything, it would be to specify search criteria as broadly as possible. By doing so, you could end up finding many more options that you never even thought existed. All in all, I am pleased with my experience with Roomster and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment. So, if you’re in search of an apartment, give Roomster a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Roomster Roomster Review: Scam Alert! Hidden Fees and Creepy Messages

So, I decided to give Roomster a try by signing up for their 7-day pass, as I was looking for an apartment for rent. Little did I know that it was going to be a complete waste of money and time. The messages I received on the website were not from potential renters but from creepy and older men asking me irrelevant questions about my personal life- big red flag!

That was not all; I got a double whammy when I looked at my bank statement and saw a charge of $24.95 from Roomster and two charges of $9.95 each, for the two 7-day weekly passes, for the whole month of May, which I didn't sign up for. That was my second red flag, and I knew something was up.

I quickly looked for Roomster's customer service number and got a voice recording without any real people or an automated response system- no one to talk to. I decided to send an email to their customer service team hoping they would help me understand the charges.

To my shock, they informed me that hidden in the fine print, when one signs up for a 7-day pass, an additional $24.95 fee is charged for a month subscription. I felt cheated and tricked since I was never prompted about this additional fee when I purchased the 7-day pass. Roomster is not worth the money, and the website is anything but legitimate.

Now I am also receiving calls from complete strangers asking for a roommate, and I cannot help but wonder what other information Roomster is disclosing without my consent. It is high time this website be shut down before it causes any more financial harm to unsuspecting people.

Roomster Avoid Roomster: A Total Scam for Finding a Place to Live

This site, Roomster, is not good at all, it's a total scam. I've been using it for almost three months, trying to find a nice place to live in many different cities and I have had zero luck. Only thing that happened was that some random person suddenly contacted me through the site, telling me to call or text them because they were the owners of the site. At first I thought this was great, but then they started acting strange.

They even sent me a picture of myself with my home address and that posting was never supposed to be seen on the site. They told me one name and then changed it when we had an extended conversation. They showed pictures of an apartment that didn't even exist at my complex. They wanted a security deposit right away and would send the keys later. It was so stupid because they weren't even in town, yet they were asking for money.

When I asked to see their picture, it didn't match the one on the site at all. The person on the site hadn't even been verified. It was just a total disaster. They were even asking me for my ID, which is really sketchy. When I realized what was happening, I started asking questions and they just never responded again.

I should have read the reviews before giving them my money. I ended up being so upset about it. Honestly, don't waste your time with Roomster if you want to find a place to live. It's not worth it.

Roomster Roomster Review: Great for Affordable Housing & ID Verification, but Refund Process Needs Improvement

Roomster is a fantastic app that I thought was really well put together. It's like ziprecruiter in terms of format, where you can easily scroll from left to right and get quick descriptions of the applicants. What really sets Roomster apart, though, is that you can submit a background and ID verification check for only $14.99.

Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to help me find the perfect room in my local area. It seems like this app would be great for areas where room sharing is more common - but where I'm from, that's just not the case.

The one major issue I had with Roomster was trying to get a refund. It was quite frustrating, honestly. I kept receiving spam messages asking me to log back into the app and had some trouble with the payments. It turns out there were three additional payments made after I deleted the app.

Ultimately, I had to contact the help center to get a resolution. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Max Fine, who was able to refund me not only the membership payments but also my ID verification fees. It feels great to know that there are still companies out there who understand the importance of treating individuals well, rather than focusing solely on profit.

Overall, I think Roomster is a great app for anyone looking for affordable housing in areas where room sharing is more common. While I had some issues with the refund process, I ultimately had a positive experience thanks to the kind help of Max Fine and the Roomster team.

Roomster Roomster Review: Decent Site for Finding Roommates, But Needs Longer Trial Period

Yo, so I gotta say, Roomster ain't too bad of a site. They do ask for money upfront, which kinda sucks, but I get it. They gotta make their dough somehow, right? But lemme tell you, if they gave us a longer free trial, that'd be sick. 'Cause if I ain't finding a renter in the first week, I ain't gonna keep paying for it, ya know?

But I did give Roomster a chance and paid for the 7 days. And I gotta say, I got some peeps hittin' up my inbox. If someone ends up rentin' my room for April, then I'll stick around. But if not, I'm outta here.

Overall, I think Roomster's worth checking out if you're tryna rent out a room or lookin' for a spot to crash. Just wish they gave us a bit more time to test things out before coughin' up the cash. Peace out.

Roomster Beware of Roomster: Not Legit and a Scam - My Personal Experience

This website Roomster, let me tell you, it ain't legit at all. I was looking for a roommate and messaged like a ton of people, but not even one dinged me back. I sat there day after day just refreshing, waiting, hoping that someone would hit me up. I mean like, why they even post an ad out there if they ain't going to come do anyting about it, you know? And then, to make things even weirder, I started getting these really bizarre messages from random people. They was saying stuff like, "I spoil my roommates." What even is that supposed to mean? I was thinking maybe some kind of freaky stuff or something.

Anyway, I then looked at my bank account a month later and saw they had taken off $30. I was like, "what the heck, man?" That's a lot of cash to throw around without getting anything back. I mean, yikes. So, I thought maybe I would reach out and see what's going on. I spoke to this person from the customer service team a bunch of times, and they said they would give my money back if I deleted my review. I mean, come on, I ain't no dummy. I was like, "how about you give me my money first and then I'll see if I feel like changing my mind, ya know?"

But that was three months ago, and I still ain't seen no cash back in my bank account. Like, seriously, how hard can it be to just transfer some money? I've been emailing them back and forth, but it's real confusing- I think they even forgot some of our messages. So, for real, I'm just leaving my review up here. And honestly, I ain't even sure why they would say I never responded...I've been sending them emails for days! I'm happy to show you the logs if you wanna see for yourself. Anyway, don't waste your cash on this site- ain't nobody gonna hit you back and you ain't gonna get your cash back neither.

Roomster Roomster website needs serious revamping, lost prime rental opportunity

Yo, peeps! Let me tell you about my experience with Roomster. So, I'm on the hunt for a new crib to call my own, right? And I stumbled upon Roomster's website. At first, it seems like aight. But then, the problems started happening.

So, I used my email to look for rooms in two different areas. But then, Roomster wouldn't let me create another account with another email. What's up with that, Roomster? And y'all don't make it easy to delete my original email either.

But anyways, I found a sweet rental opportunity and was ready to pay up. But then, Roomster redirected me to a search parameter instead of sending me directly to the renter's page. Like, what the heck?! And when I tried to click on the link again, same thing happened. I was sent to search again and couldn't find the rental opportunity I wanted.

So, yeah. I lost out on a prime rental at the location I needed. And all because of Roomster's janky website. They need to do some serious revamping, if you ask me.

Roomster Roomster Review: An Unimpressed User's Thoughts on Using the App

So, I gotta say, I'm not super impressed with Roomster. It's supposed to help you find a roommate or a place to live, but there are a few issues that make it a bit of a pain to use. For one thing, there's no option to search for places that don't allow pets - which is definitely a dealbreaker for me. And when it comes to searching for people, there's just not a lot to go on. I wish there were more filters or ways to really drill down and find exactly what you're looking for.

But the real kicker was when I tried to set up my account. I had some trouble with my email address, and there's no way to reset your password if you're having issues like me. Apparently someone else had registered my email before, but I couldn't figure out how to get it back in my own hands. So, I had to create a second account with a different email, and it's just been a bit of a headache ever since.

Even adding pictures to my profile was a bit of a weird experience - if you click the little + sign on a photo, it messes with the primary photo label. And if a photo was taken in portrait orientation instead of landscape, it shows up sideways on your profile. It's just little things like that that make me wonder if this whole thing is really worth it.

I'm definitely willing to give it a shot and see if it helps me find a great place to live, but based on my experience so far, I'm not super confident that it will. Fingers crossed that things improve, though!

Roomster Roomster: Not Impressed with this Strange Housing Site

I gotta say, Roomster is kinda strange. All them house listings seem too perfect, like they're from a 3D modeling program or something. Ain't no real humans on the site neither. Instead, there are tons of scammers on Craigslist posing as landlords using the same ol' line - "I'm the landlord, fill out this form for more info." But if you bust out Incognito mode and a VPN (you know, for safety), you'll see that it just links you to the Roomster search page. So what's their deal?

And let me tell ya, their filter ain't much better. They got range, age, gender... and even zodiac signs. Like, WHAT? Who thought that would be helpful or funny? Probably some fancy-pants executive who needs to go live in the first listing they find on Roomster for a month. Hahahaha.

Honestly, I ain't impressed with Roomster. I need a site that's real, with real people and real listings. Maybe they need to step up their game or somethin'.

Roomster Roomster review: Avoid like the plague! Deceptive "premium" service & unresponsive customer service. Accounts deleted without warning

I give Roomster a big fat thumbs down. I paid for a few months of their so-called "premium" service (I mean, come on, how premium can it be when they can't even spellcheck their own emails?) and guess what? They went ahead and deleted my account without any warning and without telling me what I did wrong (which, spoiler alert, was nothing).

And get this: when I tried to contact them about it, I got nada. Zilch. Zippo. Because apparently everything is automated on that site and you can't talk to an actual human being. Oh, and in case you were wondering, I only sent out a few inquiries to people who might be interested in my room, or answered inquiries from others.

So not only am I out the rest of my subscription period (which, by the way, they don't give refunds for, so thanks for nothing), but I can't even follow up with the people who might have been actual leads. I mean, for all I know, they were as bogus as the rest of the inquiries I got.

Bottom line: avoid Roomster like the plague. And if you're insane enough to use it, make sure you cancel your subscription right after you pay, because they seem to have a real knack for randomly deleting accounts. I've seen plenty of other people with similar issues, so trust me, you don't want to deal with this headache.

Roomster Roomster.com Review: Disappointing Experience Searching for a Room

Looking for a room can be a real hassle, right? You might be wondering where to start. Well, I gave Roomster.com a try not long ago. Let me tell you about my recent experience with them.

So, I was on the hunt for a room and that was my main priority. On May 29th, I decided to give Roomster.com a shot. After paying $7.95 for the trial period, I received a receipt. But things started to get complicated when I tried to access the room list. A pop-up window appeared, asking me to download additional Google extensions. That's where I got stuck. I tried to reach out to the customer service, but got no help. It was frustrating, to say the least. I regret not cancelling straight away, but I thought that they would eventually help me.

However, on June 4th, I noticed my credit card being charged with $24.95. I found out that it was Roomster.com charging me again for their monthly service. The thing is, they never sent me a receipt for that transaction. It just appeared out of the blue. I was confused and annoyed. They told me that if I didn't cancel during the trial period, I would automatically be charged for the following months. I couldn't help but wonder, what's the point of a trial period if you're already expected to pay the full amount?

Overall, I don't feel like Roomster.com showed any effort in helping me out with my room search. Instead, it seemed like they were more interested in raking in money from their customers. It was frustrating and I can't recommend them. If you're looking for a room, put your money on an online service that delivers on their promises.

I hope this review helps others in their search for a reliable room hunting service.

Roomster Roomster Review: Not Worth the Money or Time

So, I tried Roomster for a bit and I gotta say, it wasn't the best experience I've had. I signed up for just 5 days, but man, did I regret it. I thought I could find some cool people and apartments with it, but none of my messages got answered. Zero, zip, nada. Even worse, the places that Roomster showed me were not even close to where I wanted to live.

After those torturous 5 days, I was charged $7.95 for what I thought would be the end of my membership. But nope, they charged me another $24.95 for a recurring monthly subscription and I was not a happy camper. I tried to get a refund, but was turned away with the cold, final words: "All sales are final". Like, what? I didn't agree to another month! I was so frustrated and felt like I was scammed.

I wanna help y'all out and suggest some better options that don't burn a hole in your wallet. I had a pretty decent experience with roomies.com, it's free and the people there seemed pretty cool. I'm sure there's other sites out there like roomies that you can try out and actually have some luck with them.

So, in conclusion, Roomster is a no-go in my book. Save your money and try out some free options instead.

Roomster Roomster: The Legit and Dope Website for Finding Your Next Crib or Roomie

Yo, let me tell you about Roomster. It's straight up a dope website for finding a new crib or roomie. And I ain't just saying that cause I got lucky and found the perfect spot through it. Nah, man, it's a legit site.

First off, their customer service is on point. Like, I had a couple questions about some listings and they got back to me hella quick. And they were actually helpful, not some robot response. Plus, they got good communication skills. Ain't no confusion or misunderstandings when you deal with them.

Now, let's talk about the listings themselves. They got all sorts of options. You can search by location, price range, and even preferred roomie characteristics. I'm talking like if you only want to live with fellow bibliophiles or pet lovers, they got you covered. And the pictures and descriptions are legit. None of that misleading crap that some other sites pull.

But what sets them apart is the Roomster Verification process. It's like they screen the listings and the users to make sure they ain't sketchy or scammy. And you can even get verified yourself. It's like a seal of approval, ya know?

And for all you job seekers out there, they even got a Career section. Like, you can search for jobs or internships and they got career advice and stuff. I ain't used it yet, but it seems pretty helpful.

So yeah, if you need a new place to crash or some new roomies, check out Roomster. It's legit and all that jazz.

Roomster Roomster Review: A Frustrating Experience with Lack of Screening and Shady Emails

So, I tried using Roomster (roomster.com) a while back but it didn't work out for me. The lack of screening meant that I kept getting offers for rooms that were less than what I was willing to pay. I mean, I love people and all that jazz, but I don't have time to waste shucking for clams and trying to guess people's personalities just to rent a room.

Anyway, a couple of years went by and I thought, maybe it's improved now. So I gave it another shot. But no, I found myself in the same rabbit hole of frustration and annoyance. Every day, I get emails from Roomster telling me that they miss me and I should come back and list with them. And then there's the emails from people who somehow managed to send me a message even though I removed my listing. It all seems a bit shady to me, or maybe I just prefer the feeling of getting a good deal and not being ripped off.

And to top it all off, I noticed that the cost of using the service has increased by a whopping 20%. I mean, seriously? Follow your instincts, folks. If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Or maybe it's just bad indigestion. Who knows? But I won't be using Roomster again, that's for sure.
