I recently signed a lease with Riverbank Apartments, and I specifically requested that the carpet be changed due to the presence of cigarette burns from the previous tenant. Despite the property management being aware of the carpet's condition, they have refused to replace it. I have concerns about my health and do not want to be exposed to a carpet that has already been damaged by smoke. It is frustrating that the property management does not seem to care about this issue. Additionally, their lease clearly states that tenants are responsible for damages to the carpet, so it should have been replaced if the previous tenant was charged for the burns. This situation is both annoying and concerning for my well-being. I simply want the carpet replaced in both bedrooms, as it is a reasonable request and a matter of health. The management's handling of this matter has been extremely disappointing. Furthermore, the manager lied by claiming that I was informed about the decision not to change the carpet. No parent would want their child to be on a carpet with cigarette burns. I will escalate this issue to multiple parties until a resolution is reached.
