Rite Aid Pharmacy Department

Over the past several years the Rite Aid Pharmacy has been my pharmacy. the last few years when I try to refill my prescription of Pregabalin (Lyrica), they will tell me it is too early. There have been other times where they don't have enough medications in store to fully fill it. When this started happening, I always had enough days extra medication to get me by. However, over the times of this happening my count has dwindled which doesn't work for my job (Firefighter/Paramedic- working 48 hour shifts). Now the pharmacy isn't open on the weekends. Because of these factors, My prescription will run out tomorrow. I am supposed to be able to pick it up on Monday but I will be at work. Besides, my dose will be at @ 6 in the morning. Your store won't even be open yet. This is not a medication that a person is supposed to stop cold turkey. It is also a prescription I need every day to perform my job duties. I am not pleased by these events.

Desired outcome: I need to get back to having some extra medications for my job/work schedule. Especially now, since you aren't even open on the weekends.

Rite Aid Customer service in the pharmacy dept

As a long time customer of Rite Aid, I have had my prescriptions sent to 4055 Market St pharmacy dept, Just as lately within the last 2 and 3 years has the service been vile, The staff has been rude, demeaning and short tempered with the customers, I witnessed just today, a man waiting in line for his medicine, and when he got to the front, the meds weren't available, (back order) frustrated he asked for his script back, the clerk was so rude, She said "Say No More" and handed him his script, they exchanged words, HE WAS NOT THE AGGRESSOR, THE CLERK WAS, he called her a bad name, The clerk and another associate started hollering "Your mother, which was so unprofessional. What happen to integrity on your job and not promoting frustration with the customers by engaging in their frustration, because they may be sick and as always Rite aid's meds are always on back order. Please give them some customer service training, We don't deserve this when one is sick.

Desired outcome: training

Rite Aid - Clobazam & lorazepam

I have been a client of the Rite Aid store located in Menifee, CA for 11 years. I have never experienced the current nightmare of not being able to get my daughter's life or death medications as I have in the previous 11 years. The Lorazepam was held for several days with the newly installed disturbing and unnaceptable red tape induced process at Rite Aid...

Rite Aid prescription for Novolog

I am 79 years old and a 53 year type one diabetic. I usually got insulin in the mail but it was often late and warm. I decided to try RiteAid. I got my first 5 bottles there. No problem. Next time I renewed, they were on it. How ever I got a call when I didn't pick it up that day. (I never said I would). A few days later they said they were putting it back in the fridge since I didn't come right away. I never said I was picking it up that day or when I would. So the insulin was NOT in the fridge for at least 3 days. (a weekend).

Using the vials now they don't seem to work as well. I am giving myself more shots to keep my blood sugar in line. But it still is high. Could it be the insulin which was NOT refrigerated for 3 to 4 days? I got a call the 3 days after I ordered it saying since I didn't pick up the vials, it was going BACK to the refridge. WHAT? It sat out for 3 to 4 days? I would like an apology and 4 vials of good insulin.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology and 4 vials that HAVE been in the fridge.

Rite Aid Pharmacist. Refills

My name is Javier Centeno and i have been a Rite aide customer for over 25 years. On Friday my Tresiba and Novolog Insulin was to be refilled. The young lady at the counter issued my wife who is the Individual that usually picks them up a print out that said "not approved" by the Insurance carrier. I placed a call to Aetna and was informed that that was not correct info given due to the fact that i was covered. We went back to Rite aide store# 04856 located @ 122-02 Liberty avenue queens, NY 11419 and now we were told they had to order and ran out of that Particular Medicine / Insulin. Now the story changes and so does my health as i was out of insulin for 3 days and the pharmacy was informed. This Particular location has gotten so careless and sloppy and Tarnishing the Rite Aide name brand and Pharmacy. My monthly co-pays are pretty hefty as i used more medications.

1. If my insurance did not cover why all of the sudden they gave me the Tresiba but had to order the Novolog. Note: i received the Tresiba insulin today 10/04/2023 but refill was due on 09/29/2023.

2. What can i do to transfer my medicine over to a Pharmacy that would give me great customer service and care about my health and life. Sounds like your Pharmacy employees need more training and take peoples health serious. i also called that particular Pharmacy [protected] and its a joke no one picked up the call for 20 minutes.

Javier Centeno

Desired outcome: I lost total confidence in your pharmacy department which would highly downgrade your products. I appreciate a response.

Rite Aid Prescription Pick-up

On Saturday 09/16/2023 at 4:44 p.m. I called Rite Aid on W. 21st Street, Norfolk VA to have a prescription refilled. At the time I was told that it would be ready for pickup on Sunday, 09/17/2023 after 11:00 a.m. When I went to pick it up on 09/17/2023 after 4:00 p.m. I was told that it was not ready and they had been really backed up. I find this totally unacceptable and as a result will not have the prescription that I needed to use today. Granted it is not a life or death situation but the prescription is for a very aggravating rash. I have tried to patronize the pharmacy because all of my prescriptions from my independent pharmacy were transferred there. No more. I will be having all of my prescriptions transferred to another pharmacy that will hopefully provide much better customer service. Big Pharma seriously is a huge disappointment to me and many others.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and hope that the pharmacy will get more than a 'slap on the wrist'.

Hah! Where I live the Rite Aid does this to me EVERY single time, I come in to get my prescriptions which is bi-monthly and for over 15 years now! I live in a small town and there is only one pharmacy here and none nearby out of town either. And I have a lot of pain so it's hard to wait in a very long line to get nothing or to have to wait for 45 minutes for it. Again, every time! And you can't call ahead of time to try and save you a trip because the Rite Aid here doesn't answer their phones. So, consider yourself lucky that this only happened once to you. I wish this only happened once to me. If it was only once, well, everybody including businesses have a bad day once in a while. What isn't acceptable is the Rite Aids in some of these small towns. You would think it would be better because its small. But it seems the opposite is true. This has been a huge source of stress for me for a very long time!

Rite Aid Pharmacy getting my prescriptions

I have been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. So I found me a doctor start going to the doctor in May of 2023 the doctor prescribed me amlodpine 5mg and Losartan potassium 50mg. And seem to be a mishap between my insurance company in Rite Aid because at first I didn't get none of my medication cuz Rite Aid claim that the insurance company would not pay for it I called the insurance company and they claim nothing went through I double that back and forth for a week and a half until my insurance company got fed up and call Rite Aid on the three way and stayed on the phone until Rite Aid said they was going to take care of it. After all of that I only end up with amlodpine 5mg. I go back to the doctor and my blood pressure is up doctor asked me as I take my medicine I tell her yeah she asked me if I'm taking both pills I said no because I only got one because her mind I never got the prescription the prescription went from the doctor office straight to Rite Aid. I go to the doctor again for something else doctor said are you taking your medicine I said yes she said are you taking both pills I said no because I only got one I go to Rite Aid and antibiotics and pain pills but not the l potassium 50mg. When asking the pharmacy about it they claim they have no other pills from the doctor office and only pills they got is the one they giving me doctor office and saying no that's not true you should have it write a saying it's not there so there's a back and forth between Rite Aid and a doctor office and I'm stuck in the middle. So may June July August I haven't had all my medication September I go to the emergency room due till I'm not feeling right my blood pressure was high they asked me do I take my medication I tell them yes I leave the emergency room the doctor insure me I just pick up my prescription at the pharmacy that they have on file and that was Rite Aid on Martin Luther King Boulevard Pontiac Michigan I did not get the medicine the day I left the ER due to the ER was already closed. Normally I get a text from Rite Aid saying my medicine is ready I didn't get a text I called right and ask them about the medicine from the ER they asked me what it was I told him I'll call him back because I forgot the name. As I said I thought about a they do have a website going to website make you an account and then that way you can figure out the name of the medication so that's what I did and as I'm looking at the medication I see the l potassium pills. I'll call Rite Aid and the lady answer the phone as totally to have a question to ask and I'm telling her about the whole ordeal and I said why when I start the account online I see the medication that y'all claim that was never there from the beginning the lady told me to hold on she was going to put me with the person that handles things like that and then the gentleman answer the phone. When I talk to the gentleman I'm telling him the whole situation he asked me what was the name of the medication and I told him l.potassium. he did says no I don't see that and then I tell him how because I'm looking at the RX number he asked me what was the RX number I give it to him and then he proceeds to say the reason why I never got it because if I would have said a full name then they would have gave it to me but because I did not say the full name he didn't know what type of potassium pills I was talking about. I told him that didn't make sense I said the reason why I don't make sense because the prescription went from the doctor office straight to the pharmacy so even though I abbreviated yeah I have the prescription you should have just gave me what the doctor gave y'all then he kept on going and said that I would have said losartan potassium then I would have got the medication but since I didn't say the full name he didn't know what type of potassium I was talking about it. And proceeded to go on and on on the reason why I didn't get the medication that my doctor assigned me to have to the point I told him you got it hun and I had to repeat that four times for him to finally say we're going to get your medication I didn't ask what's the estimate time or do I just wait for the text he told me I can wait for the text he then asked me that I have insurance and I told him don't worry about it I just pay for it I asked him did he take RX and he said yeah. But the point is they could have killed me because I'm sitting here wondering why I feel funny wonder why my blood pressure won't go down cuz I'm taking my medicine right I'm doing everything right and because they refuse to give me my proper medication could have messed me up for life I have eight kids and I was taking care of my mother who is bed bound I had to put my mother in a group home because I was unable to take care of her due to my hypertension. And the crazy thing about it because I have gotten other medications for other things like I had a cyst underneath my arm but I couldn't get the most important medication that can save my life

Rite Aid - Pharmacy

How can you take over week to fill a lifesaving prescription? Being told I have to call the Doctor because they are not returning a fax is not an acceptable answer? This is not the first time this store has had trouble nor is this my first complaint. How come you don't offer your customers some medications to get past this problem? Or try to problem solve...

Rite Aid Zolpidem tartrate (generic ambien) effectiveness is inconsistent

The quality control of whatever manufacturer you're currently getting Zolpidem Tartrate (generic Ambien) from stinks! I know for a fact that the source changed recently because the pharmacist explained why my 30-dose refill consisted of 29 from one company and one from another. Some of the ones in my last two refills have been complete duds. They did absolutely nothing. Others have seemed extra-strong.

When you start taking Ambien, you immediately become addicted, not because you would have withdrawal symptoms if it were unavailable, but because it's almost impossible to sleep without it. Lying awake at night, getting angrier and angrier because you can't sleep and need to be alert the following day is an awful thing. It's easy to think to yourself, "aw, that's too bad" and set the problem aside because it's not important to you. It's very important to others.

Desired outcome: Please change vendors!!! Prescription drug refills with inconsistent quality are unacceptable.

Rite Aid General service at a particular store

The Rite Aide on 2412 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405 is a disgrace. They are poorly stocked, unfriendly, and claim that they are always understaffed. A lot of products are locked under the glass shelves, and it takes more than 10-15 minutes to get anybody to come out and open the shelf. They simply ignore all requests to come out. It has happened not once but already more than three times, Literally, every time I need to get a locked product, it's an ordeal.

The pharmacy is also taking forever to fill prescriptions. Never did I come at the time when it was supposed to be ready for pick up and it was ready.

The look of the store inside is pretty sad even though it's located in a nice neighborhood - Sunset Park. Where does the management look at?

Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1815 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles

Obtaining service from the Rite Aid Pharmacy has been difficult. For awhile we had at least two very responsive Pharmacists, but they were either transferred or let go. As of this moment, I have been On Hold with the Pharmacy for over ten minutes. I would like to check whether a prescription for a class 2 drug will be available today or not. While I receive multiple notices about picking up my other drugs, this one drug has this year been filled only when I take my identification to the Pharmacy. I need to know if that will happened now, or When?

Desired outcome: Better Pharmacy service at our Rite Aid store.

Rite Aid Pharmacy

This is the 2nd month I renewed my prescription with Rite Aid and both months they are shorting me pills. After I called to question them, they said to come in and they will give me the pills they shorted me? They did not change the pill count on my bottle when picking up the prescriptions. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? So, if I don't re-check the count of my pills at each refill, I will be short for the month. LEADS TO THE QUESTIONS OF WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THE PILLS THEY ARE SHORTING ME? The pill count would have to be off of what they have.

This is why I left the first time, when they messed up my daughter's medicine when she was a baby.

Desired outcome: That they communicate when picking up medicine and if they don't have enough pills to let you know.

Rite Aid Pharmacy staff /employees

On 7/27/2023 after waiting a week for a prior authorization. I came in to see if they had handled it. I also called my doctors office to hopefully get it resolved. I was still suffering from symptoms. And one of the pharmacy employees the one the one that explains how to take medicine. Asks me out loud if I had a vaginal infection? I do not know why I would have to disclose that out loud. Still I did. Because I felt that was my only option to hopefully receiving my medication.

I was left with embarrassment and truly felt humiliated. And left with no medication because the same lady had to just make some phone calls to fix the misunderstanding that the doctor had wrote in making the prescription. Mind you all done electronically. On 7/28/2023 I called ahead of time before arriving to pick up medication over the phone I explained the issue I was having on them getting prior authorization and then proceeded to give my birth date out loud the tech on the phone says my name first and then loudly expresses the medication that was now ready to pick up. She said "the vaginal cream" yeah its ready. Im not sure what I personally did for the whole staff to make me a joke. Or felt they needed to put my information so blatantly out there but I am not getting much sleep tonight and I am very insecure about picking up my medicine. I really feel like I need to be compensated. Im embarrassed.

Desired outcome: 200.00 cash for the emotional anguish and the amount of times i visited the the store commuting cost me money. the embarrassment and the fact that i have to change pharmacies.

I don’t understand why I bother calling in my refills because when I do they’re never ready when I go to pick them up.

They don’t fill them until you are there to pick them up and you have to wait anywhere from 20minutes-1hour for them anyway

Why bother with a refill line?

I can be confusing so I really hope I was understood, thank you so much for your time

Desired outcome: For scripts to be filled when called in, for store to stop wasting my time

Rite Aid Customer service store 02591

On Friday, July 7, I visited this location to pick up medication. The pharmacist who was at the register treated me unprofessionally, it was very unsettling, but I did walk out with the medication.

When I got into my vehicle, I started filling out an online complaint form, when a text message appeared stating “ Rite Aid: Your selected prescriptions have been removed from the Automated Courtesy Refill Program. Questions? Call [protected]. Txt STOP to stop.”

I re-entered the store and asked to talk to the manager. Amber spoke to me, advised me to not submit the complaint because she herself would get this issue resolved herself.

As of July 17, I hadn’t heard from Amber or anyone else from Rite Aid. I called and spoke to Amber, who said that her superior had not done their due diligence and her (Amber’s) hands are tied.

I hadn’t had one single issue with Rite Aid stores, pharmacies, or staff in the decades I’ve been a customer.

Desired outcome: Have the employee undo the malicious and inexplicable removal from the refill program, with an apology.

Rite Aid Rite Aid Pharmacy in Mariposa, California on Joe Howard Street

I called in my Prescription for my diabetic Metformin and my husband went to pick up the prescription on Tuesday, 4 days after I called it in and was told it was not authorized by my Doctor and they would call him and have it ready by Friday. My husband was not able to pick it up until Saturday and when he did they had filled my inhaler for a $50 copay after I had just picked my inhaler up two weeks prior to this. They did not have my Metformin ready! They said they called my Doctor but evidently did not check to see if the Metformin Rx was filled. They instead just filled the Rx for what they say was a computer automatic refill for the inhaler - evidentally my Doctor was never called! I was angry having to shell out another $50 copay for a RX that I would not need for a couple more weeks and still did not have my metformin! Of course my Doctor's office was closed today and it was impossible to get my Metformin filled today even though they told me to take it up with my Doctor if the refill was wrong. The head Pharmacist, Michael, implied I must be senile and maybe forgot how many doses I had used of my inhaler since I still had two weeks worth and by his account I should have been out. He said I picked up the Rx a month ago. Which I did not do since I still had two weeks puffs left in my inhaler. Anyway he is suppose to give me 8 pills emergency since my Doctor office was closed. He promised I could pick up the Metformin tomorrow on Sunday at any register. Hopefully this is true. Once they even gave me someone else's pills. Yes they are going to kill someone since they are so busy they are not following up or double checking with the client when they fill Rx's. Michael said they are too busy to do that. I have decided to dump them as my pharmacy of choice. They are incompetent! Someone will die and then they will admit how bad their service is.

Desired outcome: I would like a full apology from the Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Rite Aid Pharmacy

The last year this store has gone from having Pharmacist who were professional, kind, compassionate listened to the customers. Often recognizing those customers as they approach the desk - even the pharmacist would look up call you by name and ask how you are doing today. As well answered the phones - even if they were busy - would politely say - I have to put you on hold - but I will be right back to help you. For the last year - over and over I have called the pharmacy for hours - with no answer - to then call the front of the store - who would call over to the pharmacy to again nothing no answer. Hours of frustration to see if a script is ready to be picked up! Long lines and attitudes with your customers. Multiple times I have arrived home - to see that I have prescription in my bag alongside my real scripts I do not even have prescribed for me! In the last year I have received text stating a script I did not request has been filled. Would be interested in who picked up those scripts. Perhaps it is an in-house fraud happening.

I have been filling scripts at this location for approx. 20 years. The TOXIC & unprofessional customer service that I have received myself as well have witnessed complete disrespect to other customers who are waiting in long lines - to be spoken down to-unwilling to resolve the customers questions or lack of filled scripts. To hearing several employees - basically say - I don't know what to tell you - if you don't like it - you can take your script to another pharmacy!

I am not sure why all of the sudden - all those amazing employees vanished around the same time. The previous employees as well as the old pharmacist that had been there for years - treated customers with RESPECT & COMPASSION. GARY is the only employee left that has all those qualities that should be the standard. This store has had loyal customers who have been coming to this store for well over 20 years. If they did not have your script available, they would let you know and would also take the time find the manufacturer of a script that worked best for you. No attitude - belittlement - kindly letting you know they would be glad to order said script for you & should only take a couple of days. Often the pharmacist in such cases - would call the customer direct letting you know it has arrived and ready for pickup. Now you are told you with an attitude call back at this hour - which is a joke - it is obviously that employee just wants to pass of the issue to the employee working the next day.

It now will take up to 7 or 8 business days once the script is called in and someone finally answers the phone. In the last year I have been told - We cannot not get said manufacturer just because it works for you. Abrupt rude - that's it like our policy or go somewhere else! Often being told Rite-Aid policy has never been allowed to order a certain manufacture that works for you! I don't know what to tell that's the policy period!

I have also watch complete disrespect in how your employees speak to those asking questions. If you have chosen to work in the field of filling prescriptions-you certainly should be educated enough to realize you will have elders or those very sick and in need of compassion instead of screaming or speaking down to. As I have witnessed as well am aware of many customers who have been traumatized with the experience to get medication. People who are coming to a pharmacy - to have medication filled may not be feeling well, may have major medical issues, may have loved ones who they have been trying to manage along with their own health!

Desired outcome: Without customers Rite-Aid will not have a need for your pharmacy and it is very clear that this has continued for the last year.

RE: PHARMACY STAFF RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

On 6/29/23 I phoned Rite Aid ahead of time to verify closing time. Due to my work schedule I had to take time off work to get there by closing. I have received several text messages indicating my prescriptions were ready for pick up until June 30th. As has happened multiple times before I encountered rude staff, the same ones as before. After a short wait I got to the counter at approx five minutes before 7 (close). To my chagrin only one was filled and ready. They are very much aware that I require a certain stomach medicine and they always seem to never have it ready. So I asked very kindly why it wasn’t ready when I have it on auto-refill and received a text confirmation that it was ready. The assistant says she doesn’t know but I will have to come back another day because they are closing soon. So I asked the pharmacist why and she replied “Rite Aide has decided not to due auto-refills on that”. So I asked why that was and if they could take a moment to refill it for me since it was not my mistake and that I have to take time off and go out of my way to pick up medicine that I have been notified is ready, and she replied “We know you’ve complained about us and if you aren't happy with our service you are free to go to another pharmacy”. And I asked again why I received the messages saying it was ready, and I was given no response so I said can you not just fill it now since there was a mistake made, nobody from Rite Aid contacted me to say it wouldn't be filled. At this point the assistant said “ It is not our job to contact you about that. Look, if you don’t like it why don’t you just go to another pharmacy instead?” I then asked the pharmacist if I could speak to the manager, and she said “I am the manager”. And I said I mean I would like to speak to the store manager, and instead of calling the manager on duty she said “I am the pharmacy manager and the store manager has no authority over me”. I then said very calmly I will be contacting the store manager and relay everything you said. She replies “We’ve already talked to him about you”. Also I need to point out that I had to once again spend over $20 of my money out of pocket to pay for over the counter medicine that my insurance is supposed to cover, that I had been told was ready, and I took my personal time to pick up before closing. Also I find it VERY hard to believe the store suddenly decided they have a policy against auto-refilling my stomach medicine. Based on their response I believe they are doing this as a reprisal for my previous complaint, which is inexcusable. I have never once arrived near closing expecting them to fill a medicine that I had not already been notified would be ready. Also, given the mistake was theirs it is my belief they could have and should have taken a few minutes to fill it. I know from past experience it only takes them about 5 or 6 minutes to fill it because it is just a factory enclosed container .

Lets go back to my previous complaint, just a few months ago. I had made half a dozen trips to pick up my stomach medicine and the assistant every time told me they didn’t have the prescription for my stomach medicine. Which I knew wasn’t true because I had been getting it auto-filled for several years. So I even made a special trip to Walla Walla Clinic and the nurse called to talk to them and right away they tell her they have it no problem. The same day I got there ten minutes to close and the first thing that happened was the assistant says “YOU HAVE TWO MINUTES”. No Hi, hello, how van I help you, just plain rudeness. Then she briefly looks at her computer and says they don’t have it. I explained the whole thing about the nurse calling etc, and she gets annoyed and says okay I’ll check again and taps real fast on her computer, like almost fake tapping. Then says its not ready and that I’d have to come back another day. I tried to explain to the pharmacist now, the circumstances and multiple trips and talking to the nurse and how they said it would be ready and the assistant ignores me like im not even there and slams they card reader on my hand (ostensibly to get it out of the way of the rolling cage door), but hurts my hand in the process, then she walks around and slams the rolling door down right while I’m trying to talk to the pharmacist. That is when I went to speak to the manager on duty and he said he was extremely sorry and that he saw the entire thing and would report it to the store manager. After speaking to the store manager (Scott Simkins) on the phone he said he would make sure it never happened again and was very apologetic. I explained that (at that time) I would not like to get anyone fired but that I felt strongly this was serious and unprofessional misconduct that needed to be addressed. The very next day though, they suddenly told me they were out of stock, and when I pointed out it was on the store shelf they said that I was trying to fill it too soon, which I double checked with my doctor AND my insurance and that turned out to be a lie, or just plain incompetence. Also, it turned out they DID have the prescription the whole time and just couldn’t find it on their computer. In addition the last time I was there to pick it up they tried telling me AGAIN they didn’t have it and tried to say the prescription was canceled by my doctor (which I knew was not true) but I was able to insist they take more time to figure it out, and low and behold they found the prescription, but I still had to wait for it to be filled when it was supposed to be ready, and I received no apology.

I have always been a good, loyal customer and I realize mistakes happen but nobody deserves to be treated this way. And it happens repeatedly and the response that no one is in charge of them and that I should just take my business elsewhere is COMPLETELY UNNACEPTABLE. At this point it is my extreme hope that in the future I do not have to endure such extreme misconduct from your pharmacy staff.

Sincerely,

Richard Prentice

Desired outcome: At this point it is my extreme hope that in the future I do not have to endure such extreme misconduct from your pharmacy staff.
