Reserve Bank of India [RBI] review: Complaint regarding harassment, defamation, and unauthorized recovery calls to my contacts

Respected Sir/Madam,

I would like to lodge a complaint regarding continuous harassment by individuals claiming to be recovery agents.

These persons are calling my relatives, friends, and professional contacts and falsely informing them that I have a dispute with a bank and an outstanding loan amount of approximately Rs. 3.5 lakh.

The callers are not disclosing the name of the bank or financial institution they represent.

They are using abusive and slang language while speaking with my contacts, causing severe mental stress, reputational damage, and embarrassment to me and my family.

The calls have been received from the following mobile numbers:

I believe such conduct is unethical and violates RBI guidelines governing recovery practices.

Recovery agents should not contact unrelated third parties, disclose alleged loan information, or use threatening or abusive language.

I am willing to resolve any genuine outstanding dues through the proper legal and banking process if any in the past.

However, the ongoing harassment of my relatives and contacts is causing immense mental pressure and distress.
