Ordered 13 replacement windows. When they were put in, they looked good(9/2024) had some issues with some screens, but Andrew ordered replacements. They within a week noticed the were gaps that seemed bigger than they should be on sliders and when closing and locking windows there was movement and you had to hold window to lock. Then wondered if the gap was allowing air to come in. It was and called for someone to come out and look at it. Oct 8, 2024 was the first of many attempts to fix windows. Spacers were tried first, then windows taken out and more insulation installed multiple times but nothing completely stopped air infiltration. I have to put socks, towels, napkins etc to try to keep as much air out as possible. I sent videos that showed 5-10 degree drop in the winter near locks on double hung windows and on the edge of track for sliders. One the last fix in March or April the spacer that was added to front slider caused air infiltration to also come in the side of window. After the third attempt I asked for all windows to be replaced because 12 out of 13 leak, the 13 th being a fan window and I never got up and checked that one or give me my money back so I can get non defective windows and I will return RBA windows. Home Depot representative that is licensed Anderson installer said he could box them up and send them back.
I have tried complaining to BBB and RBA said I wouldn’t allow them to fix problems. I sent a demand letter and response was the same. I agreed to RBA lawyer that I would allow them to come out again and that’s when again I heard that the windows were within spec ( the window fit the opening). I wasn’t doubting that. I was saying that I don’t need heat coming through in the summer and air conditioning in the winter. Completely ignored that and stuck to the windows are within spec. The 3 people in our household are in 60’s and 70’s one with dementia. Having windows taken out in the middle of winter is not fun but wanted to give RBA a chance to fix. Now I am being ignored when I send a complaint
Claimed loss: $41,964 just cost of windows installed
Desired outcome: Complete refund and will give back windows
