I went there for blonde highlights on February 14, 2026. What she gave me was red orange stripes.
My hair lifted to a yellow blonde BEFORE any toner was applied. She used a toner that made the blonde pieces RED ORANGE. She tried to tell me, "wash it, it will get lighter".
What it did was get MORE RED. In my opinion, The woman, Amanda does not know how to do highlights. I have stripes of color (not fine highlights), the color is totally wrong and she dried my hair out. Instead of weaving the color into my bangs, she pulled pieces into the side foils!
A total botched job! And now, after communicating with Regis (their corporate office) for 6 plus weeks via email, they are still giving me the runaround for either a fix or refund! Allegedly, there is an "owner" of the Surfside Beach, SC and Myrtle Beach, SC (Seaboard Street) salons (both in Walmart), but I have not heard boo from them either.
They even charged me EXTRA for toner (toner is supposed to be included in the price)! Regis CS claims they have reached out to the franchisee but I've heard NOTHING from that person.
I called their Myrtle Beach salon and finally spoke to Shelby, the manager there, who was nice enough to take my info. She supposedly passed it on to the "owner". Still waiting for a call since two days ago.
There are HUNDREDS of poor reviews on Smartstyle across the board.
THE WORST PART IS THEY GIVE YOU A HARD TIME WHEN YOU REQUEST THAT THEY MAKE IT RIGHT!
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SAVE YOURSELF A WHOLE BARREL FULL OF AGGRAVATION and go to a reputable place instead of Smartstyle.
These salons seem to hire people who don't know what they're doing, then try to skirt you when you ask for your money back or to have it corrected!
I'd give them zero stars but no option for that.
