My parents were in town visiting and wanted to go to Red Lobster because the one near their home had closed. The Pine Bluff, Arkansas, location (which is usually pretty good) is where I took them. They seated us in the farthest table possible, and it was FREEZING. The waiter did turn the air down a little for us. We got our biscuits and order taken pretty timely. An hour later my husband gets up to find the waiter and asks about the food and could at least the one of us that ordered a salad get that. Waiter delivers that and almost throws it on the table. He was not happy. Another 30 minutes later, we asked where our food was. The waiter says they only have one cook and it will be another 15. At that point it was really too late to eat so we chose to leave. When we round the corner, there were several tables that were not there when we came in who were eating. The waiter was checking to see if our one salad and three teas would be comped, but never came and told us so we left. How embarrassed I was taking out-of-state company there.
Recommendation: Beware..
That is so mortifying, and I feel for you. You wanted a nice dinner with your parents, and they failed you completely. Here is what you can do: call the Pine Bluff location and ask for the general manager, not a shift lead. Tell them exactly what happened with the wait and the waiter's attitude, and ask for a full refund or a gift card for a future visit. If they refuse, email Red Lobster corporate through their website. They usually respond quickly to complaints about bad service. And do not feel bad, this was not your fault. You tried to do something nice, and the restaurant let you down.
