On November 6th 2025 we received a letter from Quadient which stated "This letter is to confirm that Quadient Leasing USA, Inc. is willing to accept the return of your mailing equipment under lease # per your request". The staff using Quadient's machine retired months ago and the lease was no longer valid. In accordance with Quadient's letter, the mailing equipment was shipped to Quadient's address in Milford CT, and received with signature confirmation on November 17th by an F. Frank. We considered the matter closed, but in January 2026 we received a $3556.88 invoice for the machine that no longer existed. The invoice recited an "INSTALL ADDRESS" that no longer exists since the machine was shipped back. The invoice also billed six months in the future which was inappropriate and unfounded. Quadient needs to abide by its own statements, and Pennsylvania law. In Pennsylvania “Unfair methods of competition” and “unfair or deceptive acts or practices” means "Causing likelihood of confusion or of misunderstanding as to the source, sponsorship, approval or certification of goods or services"). By sending invoices on dead accounts, Quadient caused extreme confusion and misunderstanding regarding the goods that were returned. Quadient's insistence that its contracts cannot be cancelled is another huge problem. Every single contract in the United States can be cancelled for breach (at least). Quadient is running some sort of scam on its customers and we request a statement from them that this account is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Claimed loss: $4727.04
Desired outcome: Confirmation from Quadient that this account has been closed.
