I ordered a trial sample of acaia-slim diet pills. I was instructed to give the usual information-name, address, credit card#. When I clicked on 'submit order' it indicated that my credit card would be charged $4.99 to cover the shipping & handling. There was not any information on the website about how to order more if needed, a phone number of the company or how to contact the company.
I tried the product and found that it did nothing for me. I threw the remainder of the bottle away. After a month or so, another bottle arrived in the mail. I was certain that they had changed my credit card so I went back on the website to try to find a way to contact the company. After a lengthy search of the website, I found the word 'terms' in very small letters at the very bottom of the page! Way past the 'click here to submit'
After reading the terms, I was alarmed to find that they were going to send me bottle every month & change my credit card a whopping $79.95 plus shipping. In addition to that they also signed me up with a company by the name of Fit Factory that was going to be charging my credit card $19.95. Unbelievable. None of this information was noted anywhere on the website that any normal person could see.
I immediately called my credit card company only to find that not only had they charged me $79.95 for the second bottle but also for the first bottle that was supposed to be $4.99. I have filed a dispute.
I will never make this mistake again. I only hope that others do not fall victim to this company. They are very mis leading!
Individual selling magazines, asked to come into our home. Wrote check on the spot, googled company name and found this to be a fraudulent or scam. Has access to our checking account.
Today I received a letter in the mail, a final notice, that said I won the Consumer's Reward Program Lottery held on September 25th, 2008. It said that my name was attached to ticket number 975130 and won in the 2nd category with the numbers 3, 7, 9, 11, 23, 28, 31 and 39.
It went on to state that I had been approved for a lump sum payment of $39, 000, drawn from a total prize of $480, 000 shared among North American Winners. I was informed that they had tried to contact me on October 8th, 2008 and failed.
The letter said that for security reasons, I was advised to keep this award from public notice until the claim had been finalized, to help prevent fraud and double claims. I was also given a phone number to call, [protected] and a check for $3, 900 to cover the applicable tax.
When I read to keep this from public notice, I didn't even call the number. I got online and entered the company name in Google, and reached a report filed by someone else, which had the exact same wording as my letter.
I would advise anyone who gets this letter to just put it in the garbage, like I am with mine.
I placed an order with company for a Microsoft product on October 16th that was shipped out on Monday, October 20th. In my Invoice, the company specifically stated to expect my order to arrive in three to seven business days. When it didn't and I sent email after email and even tried calling them (they would just hang up within seconds every time!), I asked them to honor their 30-day guarantee and cancel my order to issue me a full refund of $63.48 USD.
Well, the company called my request for my order to canceled and refund to be given to me 'nasty.' That's a good one, especially when I received an additional email after my Invoice stating now that it could take up to 14 business days to arrive.
I told the company that they were operating like a fraud or scam to me and ripping me off for my money. They still refused to cooperate, cancel my order, and give me my money back. Their claim of '30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR ANY REASON' (I copied and pasted it exactly how it is stated on their site, excuse the caps) doesn't mean anything.
This company should be avoided at all costs, in my opinion. As of this date, I still don't have my refund. Don't let them rip you off, too.
This company is swindling the consumer. Our family uses 5 phones, we were charged on 2 different phones in one month $9.99 each for this rip-off service! It was never ordered, never authorized, never wanted AND we are forced to pay it on our bill. The company refused to refund the money stating that it clearly stated a charge would be imposed if the service was used (via a txt message to my children, all they had to do was respond). My children remembered seeing the txt but didn't know what it was. This is ridiculous! I have put a block on our phones so that it won't happen again.
Someone, take this company out business, start a class action. Even if I get $.01 back, it would be better than having a company like this around. Scam.
I ordered 2 magazine subscriptions from Magazania via the Internet in March of 2008. It is now mid-November 2008. I have been receiving one of the magazines with no problem.
I have not received the other magazine in spite of speaking with 3 of their phone reps and sending two emails via the form on their website (I got no response at all from the forms).
The 2nd two people told me I could get a free magazine subscription for the inconvenience. The 3rd person told me she would send me an email by the end of the day with ths solution. I received nothing.
The magazines take months to start coming, so you pay for them with your credit card before you know you're not going to receive the magazines. This leaves you with no recourse. This is probably enough time for many people to forget and just go away.
I Googled the Internet for scams at Magazania and found another site where multiple people complained about not receiving their magazines. This is obviously a scam.
Hollywood profiles is a fake casting company who lures people to their site with false information. They ask for your credit card to charge a trial fee of $1.95. But then they start charging your card $49.95 (which shows up under hollywdtal on your card statement) without your permission whether or not you are using their site. They are lying and cheating people out of their money and then try to refuse a refund. This company needs to be stopped. If you have been cheated please report them. Together we can help prevent this from happening to other unsuspecting victims. So please, help us stop them.
This company took my money for a trial 1 month membership, let me log on once, then 4 days later when I tried to log in again they told me they didn't recognize my username and password. The 'e-mail me my username and password' function on their site was non-responsive. They have no voice customer service (that should have been my first clue), only fax, e-mail (which they do not answer, after repeated attempts) and snail mail. I've now paid for a service I can't access and customer service I can't reach. I've filed a report with the Iowa BBB, hoping that results in something. I now stand wondering whether or not that trial membership I can't exercise or cancel is going to go permanent and I'm going to see 10 bucks a month disappear from my bank account.
Don't do business with these guys. They are amateurs. Stick with the big geneoalogy pros on the web. They are professional and are responsive and committed to customer service.
A1books would not pay us (Merchant) for item sold thru their website. Even after Buyer confirmed receipt & sent copies of canceled check which they cashed. Multiple e-mails, faxes, & phone messages over 1 month without resolution. Don't sell your stuff thru this site unless you're willing to not get paid.
These people send an e-mail for a free sample of Hoodia Fusion diet pill. Shipping is suppose to be billed to your credit card of 4.97, It was the charged the shipping and I agreed to that. I was then charged 74.45 for a month supply of the pills that I did not order.
Filled out a form for a loan received a email thanking me for becoming a member I did not join I wrote to stop it but was still charged.
Incredimail fraudulently billed my card for a renewal and was not authorized to do so. Beware people!
Do not trust what this company says. They have a very nice customer service line and appear to have great prices but when they come to pick up your property they lose things, they do not deliver in the time period that they tell you, they break and lose property, and the prices are not what they tell you over the phone. I wished I would of just paid the extra to get a better moving company from the beginning or drove a moving truck my self. They created a mess of problems for my family as we reloked from Arizona to Michigan. They were nearly 2 weeks later than what they told us. They lost some of our boxes and broke other things. When I called them on the phone to find out how long it would be until our things arrived. I was told a different story almost everytime. We ended up paying extra to stay in a hotel while we waited for our things to arrive at our new home. Movers beware of this company!
Ordered a set of DVD's, my credit card was charged. Nothing delivered. Follow up email to bestboxset customer service stated their system had been corrupted. No option given to cancel order and request credit. Subsequent emails all get a standard response. This looks to be a total scam!
Erroneous $11.99 credit charge on my Visa statement posted for Oct. 6, 2008. I was in Florida from Oct. 3 thru Oct. 11 and was not even connected to the internet. I don't know how they did it. My credit card company will make it right. I'll call them tomorrow.
I received a check in the mail for the amount of $4, 890.00 and was told that it was part of $250, 000 that I had won. The first check is to pay the taxes on the winnings but I need to call them before I can cash the check. I am sure that they will want my account information so that they can get money from it and that the check I received is no good. The letter came in a envelope with no return address on it and just a sticker for my address like they would get from some company selling information.
I received this teeth whitening product, but after using the trial product and having it burn my mouth so badly I could not bear to keep it on for the recommended time, I decided relatively quickly this product was not for me. Unfortunately the first shipment came before I had a chance to cancel, so I promptly returned the package. Well come to find out, according to the representative I spoke with, I can not get a refund because I did not get an 'RMA' number before I sent the package back. Apparently you have to schedule a return with this company. HOWEVER, the kind representative did tell me that they received my package. HUH? Okay then everything is okay right- nope. She offered, for a mere fee of 4.95 to send the same package back to me, but it now can not be returned for a refund. Now, mind you, the package is intact, absolutely no product was used or opened or touched for that matter. So, now they have their product and my money. Doesn't seem quite fair to me. It is not even a matter of 84.00 at this point, it is the principle. I will fight to the bitter end to see that this company gets exposed for the rip off operation they are.
Ameriloan, have continue to take money out of my account every pay period. The loan have been paid they will not give a number to get in touch with someone, to stop this.
The only thing good from this web site, was finding an old class mate from third grade. I was looking a my bank statement back in Oct 08 and saw a transaction that looked fishy. I called the 800 number to see who they where and they said that they got my card number when I signed up with classmates.com. I told them to return the $13.00 or I'd report them to the Oregon attorney generals office. I then canceled my bank card.
AT&T Are actively stealing, lying, make a contract deal and then they go back and change it, and claim the customer is lying hmmm! Get You to buy there phone thats just crap, and give you one for free, thats means 2 ### phones. I paid for x amount of minutes, they took my money and claim I am wrong, a week has passed, have not used the phone, they claim I already owe 195.00. Thats 2 ### phones, 2 lies!
Do yourself a favor and don't deal with them!
I ordered a product, 'Mole Control, ' to repel gophers and moles. They never sent the item or responded to any inquiries, but they took their payment. I gave them a month to respond. I filed a claim through PayPal and got a refund. This is clearly a scam.
I did a trial with emusic, that was being promoted by wal-mart with the purchase of electronic equipment. the trial period was for 7 days. on the second day I canceled my trial membership. I come to discover around 18 days latter that emusic had taken $19.99 out of my bank account. I logged on to emusic.com and filed a complaint and prompted them to refund my money, that it was wrongfully taken for services not rendered on 10/28/08, claim #[protected]. emusic.com will not respond to the claim, and say that if I file anything else it will only allow them to drag out their effortless response. I believe that wal mart should also be aware of this kind of activity which is being promoted by them.
They took 50.00 off my direct express card but didn't give me credit. Beware people!
I ordered three juicy sweatsuits from denimjeanz.com. They promised me my order. I emailed them five times. no response. I tried to call, the mailbox is full. That was a month ago on october 17th. Thy charged m account. now I am fighting with my bank to get the funds back. out 248.00. What a scam.
I have been a Sprint customer since 1995 and have 2 other members of my family on the same contract. Until lately, the service and support have been more than I ever needed and the cost has been acceptable. That has all changed within the last 4 month. I purchased a new phone in June of 2008 after having ridden my last phone down 30 yards of payment in a motorcycle accident. When I got the new phone there were lots of new icon I never had on my old one. When I would push the button to see what it did a window would pop up and tell me I was entering the internet or accessing some e-mail. I didn't need the service or knew how it worked so I quickly disconnected.
When I got my first bill I noticed a $75 charge for 'date service' so I called and got the line 'that is internet data download at $.03/Kb'. Now first of all there is a huge difference between Kb and Mb and most data today is so large, they don't even bother measuring it in killobites. I could not have been on the service for more than 2 minutes and racked up $75.00 in charges which makes sense since at a 1.5M baud rate I had [protected] bit) blocks of date sent to me or 2, 425, 000 bits (2.425 meg) When I contested the charges I was asked if I would take the Internet service for only $15.00/month, they would waive the $75.00. I said I didn't need it and wanted the service blocked. They agreed (after speaking with a supervisor) to waive the fee and disconnect the internet access service. Keep in mind, I never requested this service in the first place.
Now, this month I get another data service charge for another $75.00. and when I call to ask what the deal was I'm told that I used the service again after been 'educated' as to just what the service was and how much it cost and if I would sign up for the internet access service for only $15.00/month, they could reduce the $75.00 charge to $37.50. So... if you try to see if the service is disconnected after 5 days of notifying them to disconnect it, and it isn't disconnected yet, you get billed with the access charge. This is clear rip-off designed to force you into accepting internet service you neither want or need. I will be looking for another phone service provider soon. Apparently it is easier for Spint to go out and get new customers than it is for them to hold onto the ones they have.
