Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] review: receptionist shamed me and vocalized my medical condition loudly so all in waiting room could hear.

THIS IS ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE.
PILAR, the receptionist at planned parenthood in Santa Cruz, Ca was extremely inconsiderate and emotionally damaging to me. I was sitting in a full waiting room with one of my co workers in it (who I did not want to know my medical information) when I arrived at the clinic. I didnt really expect short, rude service from her, because the other receptionists are all very very kind and compassionate. She seemed miffed, immediately, and frustrated I was standing in front of her. she told me to wait "back on the carpet" even though no one was there in line, The waiting room was quiet, and when she asked me to fill out a slip of paper regarding the reason for my visit, and I wrote it down, she blurted out (very) loudly, "YOU NEED STD TESTING AND YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF HERPES RIGHT NOW?!" I turned beet red and because I was so embarrassed ? to have everyone in that waiting room hear, I impulsively denied it and said no you have the wrong paper I'm here for a pregnancy test" This wasn't true, but I was mortified for my coworker to know, and perhaps become phobic of me, that I potentially had herpes. Pilar again out loud said, "you just gave me this, it has your name on it, and it says you have herpes and want an STD test, do you or not?" I could not believe that the receptionist would be so completely ignorant of the HIPAA laws and her obligations as a federally contracted employee to observe these laws.
I could not do anything but run out of the room and subsequently had to quit my job due to harassment and embarrassing comments from "rumors" that had origins in Pilars disclosing my medical information to complete strangers. I hope she does not continue to work in the medical field. Her decisions and lack of awesomeness entirely ruined that career for me and my reputation in my community.
