Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] review: misleading information on cost of services

I was in need of affordable birth control. I was previously going to Naples Health Department to receive my depo shot, but since their hours of operation was conflicting with my Monday through Friday work schedule i was in search of an alternative place to get it. Before i scheduled my appointment online i called the planned parenthood office closest to me and informed them that i did not have health insurance but i was looking to get back on my birth control (depo) and asked how much it would cost me so i could plan and budget accordingly. The woman from that office told me $80.00, after the phone call i went online and scheduled my appointment for 11/30/2019. I arrived to my appointment, checked in and waited for my services. After i received my shot i was at the window to check out, the woman there told me that my office visit now cost $170.00. Taken back i asked her why my visit cost $170 and that i was originally told that it would only be $80. She explained that yes it does cost $80 for the depo shot but we also charge for the office visit and a pregnancy test. I cannot begin to explain how extremely frustrating and upsetting this was. I planned and budgeted my expenses to pay $80 not $170 - this is why i called prior to booking my appointment. In my belief this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If a patient calls prior inquiring about costs your facility needs to explain the total amount. Had i been told that i was going to be charged $170 i would not had made the appointment. I am a single mother of 2 and simply cannot afford $170 birth control. I will never return and i will also never recommend your services to anybody just for the fact that i was completely mislead. This is extremely disappointing as i have used your services before but never again will I. If it is at all possible it would be nice to receive a refund of the difference that i was not informed of.
