For years I have been shopping on line with confidence using my PayPal buying "shield" Yesterday I filled a dispute with paypal requesting my money back for a dvd I had ordered through www.ecrater. /jfsales51 What I recieved was a bootleg pirated copy. Paypal "investigated and closed" my claim within 90 min of me filling it. When I called Paypal I was informed that of the thousands and thousands of sites that use the PayPal option the only one I am protected one is Ebay. Unless I never recieve the item. So according to Paypal I did recieve it but who cares that it is a homemade illegal dvd... I lose. The more research I did the more I felt like a fool using PayPal. Even if you use your credit card to pay with paypal you waive your rights. So America please use caution when using paypal becuase you are NOT protected at all even for illegal activites and scams. I have closed my account and will now only use my charge charge so that I can have at least some recourse. Check this out paypalsucks.com it will really open your eyes beforethe holiday shopping season.

PayPal is all about SELLERS, not CONSUMERS.

I have used paypal since the late 1990s, and I have tens of thousands of dollars in transactions. However, in the span of a few weeks, they have royally scr*wed me, one of their long standing customers. Let me explain.

About a month ago, I noticed that I had charges on my AMEX card going through paypal. However, these charges were not in my paypal account - total $500. I did a bit of background checking, and I found that these charges were occurring off-shore in China and they appeared to be fraudulent. I called my credit card issuer and they put a fraud alert on my card, indicated they would follow-up with PayPal, and told me to report this directly to PayPal. That took 5 minutes. Easy peazy.

I next called PayPal, indicated that I had unauthorized PayPal charges on my CC and that these charges did not appear in my PayPal account connected to my CC. After waiting an excessive amount of time for a pick up, being on hold and waiting, being transferred and waiting, I was finding forwarded to an English native speaking rep who agreed that these charges appeared to be fraudulent and would be investigated. That took 45 painful minutes that I will never get back.

Fast forward two weeks. PayPal sends me a message that they have denied my claim and I would need to work directly with my CC. What? These are non-authorized charges.

In about the same amount of time, I receive an expired food item from an online website. After 30 days of ordering with no resolution in sight, I contact PayPal to file a claim. They decide that if I return the item that they will refund. They provide me with an address, which I use. I pay for a trackable form of shipping. Everything looks fine, until the tracking indicates that the address is undeliverable. PayPal IMMEDIATELY denies my claim stating that the did not return the item. PayPal did not follow-up to my 2 complaints that I shipped the package to the address they specified.

Bottom-line. PayPal is all about protect SELLERS, not CONSUMERS. I have decided that I can live without PayPal and Fleabay. I will use my CC for transaction online from this point forward since I am protected under federal law. I don't have these protections under PayPal.

I linked my bank account to paypal and sold some stuff on eBay. I added an alternative funding source and when I knew there was no money in my bank account I selected carefully and completely, my alternate funding source be used instead of my bank account. Pay pal, contrary to the functions of the settings on their own web page designs, after alternate funding source was selected, and with a balance positive in my paypal account, sent the charges to my bank, bouncing checks and resulting in numerous fees from my bank. So I called them and complained, and they sent a letter to me to forward to my bank that essentially said I didn't use their web page settings properly, but inviting my manager to refund the charges. Then they did it again! So NEVER CONNECT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT TO PAYPAL! Transferring funds into your account from paypal takes many days anyway. Don't trust paypal to not ruin your relationship with your bank and cost you vast amounts of money, in extra fees.

I am a merchant that uses PayPal's eCommerce (shopping cart) software and also use PayPal for processing the transactions.

I have a complaint against PayPal. I have lost $18.50 in a transaction due to a malfunction in PayPal's eCommerce software. I have an email from Billy, a supervisor in PayPal's call center, which acknowledges that there was a problem in PayPal's software which caused me to lose $18.50 in shipping and handling fee because it was added to the total amount invoice to the customer and not collected, even though the eCommerce software has worked properly for all other transactions over the past 7 years. I can provide the email from PayPal acknowledging the error in their software, yet they want to collect the unbilled shipping fee from the customer instead of taking responsibility and paying for the shipping fee from PayPal's coffers.

My complaint was escalated to a person at the corporate office whose name is Gabriele. My conversation with him did not go well. At first, he said he would prepare a ticket for tech support to investigate whether or not there was a temporary problem at PayPal on how a transaction was executed but when I requested him to speak with Billy, too, who is a supervisor at PayPal call center, Gabriele got irritated and said he will not do that. I asked him why? He replied because that's his wish. He then changed his mind about investigating the problem further and decided to close the case.

I called PayPal again and was told by a representative that the case had been closed and there is nothing further PayPal is prepared to do.

Thanks,
Jaffer

WORST COMPANY EVER! And the sad part is, you won't even see it coming. After nearly a decade with them and ZERO complaints or disputes in my account from customers, they claimed that I was a "security risk" and closed my account without any notice or explanation. On top of it, they froze my money for 6 MONTHS! When I asked what I had done, they said it was "proprietary information" and refused to even give me a reason. Imagine THAT! No bank on this side of the globe would ever have the audacity (or legal right) to freeze funds (AKA hold and use a customer's money to collect interest for their own profitable gain) for that long and without a valid reason! The very idea is prosperous and yet they do it day after day. They masquerade as a sort of bank and "merchant" but they are NOT a bank or merchant and do not have to adhere to the rules and regulations that banks and merchants do...rules and regulations that were set up to protect US the consumers. Think about THAT.

And the very best part is, when they finally do shut you down on that day you won't see coming, your entire financial future (and often times, the future of your online business) will be placed in the hands of some pimpled face, heartless support jerk who is straight out of high school and reading off some scripted paper. That's the courtesy Paypal gives you after a decade of your business.

So yeah, use them if you're desperate and stupid, and probably for a while, everything will be fine but just like that when you least expect it (and probably have the most amount of money in your account) they will shut you down without a warning or even the courtesy of giving you a damn reason. Do yourself a favor and FIND AN ALTERNATIVE!

On Saturday February 28, 2009, I mistakenly made an online credit card payment (in full, $3, 200) from the wrong bank account. In this day of electronic (instantaneous) payments, I then made a second payment from the correct account, in order to be sure there would be no bank charges. I attempted to contact GE Money, but was told I'd have to call back on Monday to straighten it out.

On Monday, I learned that it could not be reversed; in fact, they had not yet posted them! (This seemed incredible, as I had a confirmation that I had paid.) Later in the week, after a communication with the CSR's in India, I learned that because my amount was a "huge amount" (their wording), I could only let the balance ride on the books, or submit a formal request for reimbursement, which I did.

Two weeks later, I had not received a check, so I called them to learn that there is a 30 day holding period before the check can be processed! No kidding. I guess GE Money needed time to scrape together the $3200 ("huge amount") to cut a check. And any charges I had made along the way prior the check being cut, would be deducted, too.

So I called them today, March 15, to ask why I had not seen a check, but to learn that it was sent out on March 3, 2009. "Where's my check coming from?” I asked, "It's been 12 days!" They told me it was coming from Florida (I guess by slow boat), but that I should expect to receive it by Wednesday, March 18.

Is this the way all credit card companies treat their customers?

Paypal would be a wonderful service if they would stick to the money transfer business and stay out of dispute resolution. They are out of control and play by their own rules which they make up as they go along. They desperately need to be governed by a regulatory agency. Paypal is a necessary evil that has been shoved down our throats. As buyers and sellers we pray for the day they have a competent competitor.

I do actually like eBay but since you have to pay with paypal I'm not interested in. Paypal is so abusive the way they treat their customers. I found out paypal is an eBay company and that makes me lose all interest in eBay. The people at people need to learn some manners and quit freezing peoples accounts and then keeping the customers money. Since I know eBay is a part of paypal that ruins any positive thought I had for eBay. For a better experience, shop elsewhere where you do not have to use paypal.

To day morning i found an email at my spam folder, the mail is sent from "PayPal", some scammer has registered "Paypals.com" and ask every one to correct their account and grabs their username and password to dry our pockets.

these guys mailed me as " We noticed one or more login attempts from a foreign IP address . "

so you login from here " Log In now to resolve the problem."

Beware of such thieves and have a close look at the source of the email, you click and visit only if it is reliable, else delete it.

Yesterday I received 10 different SMS alerts, advising me for online transaction on favor of Skype via PayPal.
Somebody hacked into my PayPal account, buying almost €500, 00 apparently to Skype!
What scares me is the fact that I haven’t authorized any transaction neither to PayPal or Skype, that my SKype account shows €0 as remain credit without showing any transactions.
PayPal is investigating, I really hope for a positive resolution,
It is a terrible fraud!

I have several months worth of fake Paypal charges on my bank account both Paypal and my local bank basically are saying tough- Paypal won't even give me the courtesy of responding with more than a form letter and have no record supoosedly of our recent correspondence - I AM DISGUSTED
and out a few thousand dollars - thanks for nothing - I am sure I am not the only one who has been hacked you would think that such a wealthy company would help it's faithful customers who are being duped by an imposter of their company - OR AT LEAST SEND OUT A HEADS UP WARNING TO ITS CUSTOMERS TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT

Paypal sent me the incorrect ship to address for a buyer. I sent the product to the address that they sent me and it was confirmed delivered to that address. They claim they are not at fault and deducted the money from my acccount and then locked my account due to this issue. I am currently out $935 and the product is sitting at the address they provided me which I am unable to retrieve. I am very dissatisfied with this kind of poor customer service.

I had some funds on my Skrill account and needed to get it transferred to PayPal so I found this service called PayPal2SSkrill.com. I signed up and filled the form in order to get my funds transferred, they’ve charged my Skrill account but money never arrived to the PayPal account. Customer support didn’t answer to any of my emails so I can only suggest that this is scam company.

These guys are awful. I created an account with them and was using it to get payments from my customers. for 3 months everything was fine but then suddenly they Blocked (put a limitation) on it saying that I need to send some papers fpr proof. I did that but still they are not withdrawing the limitations. They even blocked my $200 which was there in my account. I don't know what to do as it has almost ruined my business..

I want to sue them, they are bloody scammers!

Paypal is the total worst! They closed my account and couldn't explain why. Tge reps are constantly rude and sound like they're young uneducated and a big call center with little knowledge or experience. When I got a supervisor, she was the most rude and ignorant person I have ever talked to. Rude is not the word, she was discusting to me. She closed my account when I got upset and now says she's holding my money for six months. This all happened because I argued about a dispute. AVOID PAYPAL IN EVERY WAY, PAYPAL IS THE WORST!

They still have my money. Just cause a customer disagrees and argues, they get to close their account AND keep the customers money for six months. I'll be surprised if they even give it back to me.

SHAPEN UP PAYPAL, I CAN'T WAIT FOR ANITHER COMPANY TO COME SO YOU STOP TRYING TO BULLY YOUR CUSTOMERS!

Paypal cancelled their VCC deals and one time one of those 1 time charge VCC i got a XXX company charging $50 after trial $5, paypal let it pass a 2nd time. Then Video Professor instead of charging 1 month 6.95$, they paypal let pass $150 for a years worth of charges. I complained they suspended my account so I used my duaghters ebay account and they were spying illegally on my family, they like a dictator deducted $150 from my daughters paypal account to charge me my insufficient account. and never posted a credit to my old account so when I oppened an account a year later they were again asking for $150, what a bunch of financial terrorist company...then one time a representative I told about the spying and she said paypal do no do that, YES THEY DO THAT A MORE HORRIBLE THINGS...ask why there are forums like PAYPALHELL.com, PAYPALSUCKS.com, etc and dozens...hope they go broke someday and close doors I HAVE LOST close to $1000+ in paypal...ugly site

Don't buy into Paypal's "Buyer Protection" BS! I purchased a 1500-minute Tracfone card from Retro Wireless (this place was so shady that it's already gone). It cost $200.00. I already have doubled minutes on my phone, so I was counting on 3000 minutes with this transaction. However, they mistakenly gave me the 400-minute card (800 doubled) instead. I contacted them about their mistake and they sent me 3 more codes: 2 200-minute codes & a Double Minutes code. They claim that this was justified, because it's 800 minutes and doubled to 1600 minutes total. I complained because I already have doubled minutes and you can't double doubled (quadrupling) minutes! I sent this complaint to Paypal, which I used for this purchase, and they said that this purchased was satisfied, too. UNLESS IT IS THE ONLY OPTION, I WILL NEVER USE PAYPAL OUTSIDE OF EBAY EVER AGAIN. PAYPAL'S BUYER PROTECTION IS AS GOOD AS COUNTERFEIT MONEY!
Furthermore, since I didn't need all of the codes at once, I left a code unused. At the end of this year, I needed it and when I tried to use it, it turns out that Retro Wireless GAVE THE SAME CARD CODE TO ANOTHER BUYER AND IT IS NOW COMPLETELY USELESS! Because it is outside of Paypal's 90-day policy, I'm out my money! F@@k YOU PAYPAL! I only got 1200 minutes for my $200.00! Rip-off-of-the-year!

I have tried desperately to pay my Pay Pal bill on-time. I received a call on a Sunday and told the woman I would pay it over the phone. She advised me it would cost $20 to make a $27 payment. I informed her I was unable to pull the account information up on-line. I told her it blocked me. She told me since I closed the account, I couldn't pay it on-line. I told her I don't get statements so why didn't they send me one when I closed the account. She said she would send the bill out, but it wouldn't arive before the due date of Dec. 5th. I told her I would pay $30 but didn't want to pay $20 to pay it. I was then disconnected. I am sure she hung up on me as I heard the phone disconnect. I called back, on the 2nd. and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I was at work and had to leave as the business closed at 9 p.m. I called back later that night and was put on hold for 27 minutes. Some guy from India took my information and kept asking me for my checking account number, . With a small hearing problem I told him he needed to speak clearly and loud enough for me to understand. He talked louder, but with his India accent, I still had a problem understanding him. I finally got through to him I wanted the fee waived this one time and wanted a paper statement from here on out. I got a conf.# but after repeating it several times I am not sure I have the correct number. He hung up on me before I could get the number confirmed. So glad I closed this account and GE can have their money, but it will be the last I ever get from GE or any company dealing with India or outside the United States. Too many barriers.

There was an account opened up under my name that I have no reference to. I HAD MY IDENTITY STOLEN. All Paypal and GEMB said was "sorry it is your account." I have disputed it on my credit report and still they say " sorry it is really you!" Now because of someone stealing my identity, I have to pay THEIR bill! This is not fair to me and to anyone else that has experienced this!

I fully agree with this post as I have personally been scammed out of USD883.60 by PayPal when withdrawing funds from my PayPal to my registered and verified bank account.
The transactions (2 in total - 1 for USD500 in February 2013 and the second for USD383.60 in January 2014) show completed however were never in my bank account.
I contacted PayPal more than 50 times via phone and sent over 100 emails. Their customer service staff does nothing to assist and simply do not care to help their customers trace missing funds.
PayPal advertise itself as trusted and reliable and I have found out the hard way - TWICE - that this is a blatant lie.

Ive been using Paypal for years and have never had any problems...so far.

There are certain things you do not want to do with online money transferring sites such as Paypal. The most important is do not ever link more than one account to it.

If you need to transfer money, do it between your other accounts, THEN transfer to Paypal.

These types of places arent set up for any kind of customer service, all they want you to do is use them for money transferring services. And regardless of the kind of money transferring site you use, they DO make them to confuse the average person so they can collect extra fees off of your ignorance.

I dont use Paypal often, but when I do, its just for the basics, nothing more.
