I am writing about the real incident that happened with me and 35 other passengers who were cheated by the private travel called paulo tours and travels.

I had gone to goa with my friends during the long weekend (28th apr '07 to 1st may '07). We had planned our journey very well. For ongoing journey we took kf flight. While returning we thought we will take a volvo and book from bangalore itself as we may not get tickets being long holiday. So we did our research in the internet and found that paulo travels the exclusive tour operators for goa has volvo. So we booked our tickets well in advance. We were contented that we had everything taken care of. After reaching goa, we confirmed the tickets again and also inquired about the boarding point. We had everything in place. We had booked our ticket for 30th monday 8.30 pm.

We had made staying arrangements in one of the resorts in calagunte. The bus would start only from panaji, its about 16 kms from calagunte.. We had to travel from calagunte to panaji using the paulo travels pick up bus.

On monday, 7.00 pm we started our journey from calagunte to panaji in their pickup bus and we reached there around 7.30 pm. The real shock we got after reaching there. The volvo bus supposed start at 8.30 is not in place.

It was informed that the volvo bus had encountered a engine failure on the way from b'lore. It was surprising to note that goa being their hq they do not have even a decent bus as back up. How many of you have heard a volvo bus having an engine snag rather 'it was fuming "that's what was heard from some of the unlucky passengers in that.

However after a long hue and cry they informed us that a non a/c bus was arranged. The travels people new this issue previous day itself even then they didn't inform us nor did they do anything about it.

We got totally stuck as these people told us at the nick of time. They were least bothered to apologize to us. We were 36 to 50 passengers trying to get some justification from the paulo the end, we didn't have any choice but to take the non a/c bus which was in a pathetic condition and not at all fit for a long journey, it was evident from the way it was started by pushing it manually.

After 1 hour of battle with the bus people, all of us soaked in sweat started our journey to bangalore. After completing 1/12 hour of journey, in that ill fated bus started catching fire on the front side. There was sparks coming out, the driver was least bothered to do anything about. He was saying"kuch nahi hoga".

[in the meantime I got to know that other passengers had taken the same travel while coming from bangalore to goa (paulo) volvo and it broke down 4.00 am in the morning. There were supposed reached goa around 8 am and it reached at 4.00 pm in the afternoon.

We somehow stopped the bus, to our shock we were stranded in a place there was no network and no access to phone. Somehow one of the phones got connected. We shouted at the travels and we got the number of md of paulo travels. This so-called md was of no help to us. It was 10.30 pm in the night. Everyone was hungry driver had told us he would stop for dinner. But now doesn't look like we ll reach anywhere. Many woman and children were traveling in the bus.

We waited there for about 1 hour until the driver and cleaner repaired the bus, then we left in the same ill fated bus. All along the journey my heart was in my mouth... The bus took 24 hours to reach bangalore instead of the usual 12 hours. This is the kind of experience we get from the private travels. Who is responsible for our time and money.

Beware!!! So I would request all of you to send this to each and everyone so that we create awareness than getting fooled by these kind of cheaters.

And also don't ever book ticket in paulo and also jabbar travels. Please beware of such cheaters!!

    Your bus with number AR-11-A-5557 Pune to Goa has break down near Satara.. No body is telling us when it vl start or whether they have arrange any other option. I have urgent work and need to reach in morning before 10AM at my destination

    We had same Exp while traveling from goa to ahmedabad, The bus driver, cleaner even operator on call didnt give proper answer, they are cheaters. The bus was late by 2.30 hrs, the agent, travel staff, driver, cleaner even operator they all give diff answers on phone, they dont pick phones. We have to change the bus middle of night, some other persons were allocated over seats, pls dont buy tickets of Paulo travels, they are cheaters

    This is Vinod Kumar Gujjula. I have travelled to Goa to Hyderabad recently.

    I really had a terrible experience while coming back to Hyderabad from Goa. None of Paulo travels staff had addressed my concerns in a proper way. Before boarding bus I made numerous calls to the allotted bus driver and informed that I will reach the boarding Pick up point in 5 minutes time.

    Irrespective of my request Bus left from the boarding point. Even after that I made a call to Paulo executive, they have asked me to go to the other pick up point, and informed the right time is 6.45 PM. I caught a cab and rushed there at 6.40 PM, though I reached on time bus left at 6.30 PM. I was little panic and again called the executives, this time none answered my call. I chased the bus upto belgaum and catch the bus. This time Paulo travel staff told, seats are allocated to some other guys. This is really terrible. After spending extra 2000 rupees and caught the bus, to my surprise staff told the above thing.

    How come you are handling service provider like Paulo Travels. With my bitter experience I am requesting you, please do not encourage Paulo Travels. If possible please take necessary disciplinary steps against them.

    I completely agree with Praveen.K.H 's opiniion about Jabbar travels. They are the most illbehaved people in this business. They allocate more than one person for one seat(specially for late night busses when u r not left with any other choice) and they ask customer to sit on plastic chair or in the driver's cabin.

    Jabbar travels guys doest not even know how to talk to customers ... they think they are taking us for free ... they dont even have the courtesy to inform customers about cancelled buss inturn they start shouting as if its our fault... best option to travell from bangalore to Hyd is KSRTC ..jai KSRTC...

    Basic lesson learnt during driver training is 1. Dont drink & drive & 2. Reduce speed when Speed breaker or bumper ahead. But this was ignored by the driver driving PAULO
    Sleeper volvo which started at 7p.m. on december 11, 2010. Drunken driver within Panjim city was speeding the car ignoring speed bumbers, but at 10.30p.m. finally bus Axle broke and bus was stranded near Goa-Maharashtra border for 2 hours. A lot of passengers agitated to driver to ask for a new bus but both the drivers ignored and started with the same bus. The driver on the seat was drunken one again, who even was couldn’t stand on his feat.

    At 3.30a.m. when most of us fast asleep, bus again bumped with axle down, back left tyre separated and bus crawling like a snake dashed to most of the trees. Good luck was there wasn’t a valley otherwise 60 of the passengers, out of which 15-20 foreign tourists, have lost their life. Bang was so severe that lot of people got injured and when they came out just to know that driver have ran away. Paulo Travels neither had any alternative arrangement nor thier complaint line was working to report this. Even at 7p.m. when the owner Mr. Mario Periere was called to report about this incident, he avoided call. He was smsed and mailed about this incident but no reply from him. Forget about compensating passengers for their trip, thier travel agency is not even taking calls. Signs of a leader in Travel & transport to Goa. Paulo Travels, though this is not happening for 1st time becuase earlier twice our group faced with tyre puncture or drunken driver case, third time we took Paulo because this time Neeta bus was completely booked and we have least option to choose then Paulo.

    Just imagine the situation at 3.30 a.m. caught in the ghats with no public transport available, a family with 2 year old child, 15-20 foreign tourists who had to catch other day flight from Mumbai, there’s no one from Paulo travel to help. When it was the reponsibility of Paulo to make arrangement for the stranded passengers, safe to their

    I too was traveling in the same bus from Goa to Bangalore on the same date given by Savitha. It was a disgusting journey i ever had in my life.When the driver was told that u have 35 life's in u r hand u should check the bus before starting the journey he carelessly replied"i am not bothered about 35 life in the bus if any thing happens i will jump out of the bus and save my life". So i request commutators not to take PAULO bus for their journey. IT IS THE WORST .
