So I went to Parts People (parts-people.com) to see if they could help me out. I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with their selection of parts. They had all kinds of stuff for all kinds of machines. And the prices were pretty reasonable too.

Anyway, I found the backlit keyboard I was after and ordered it. It arrived pretty quickly, which was nice. But when I installed it, I still had the same problem. No workie.

I was pretty frustrated at this point, but I decided to give Parts People a call and see if they could help me out. The guy I talked to was really friendly and helpful. He asked me a bunch of questions about my machine and the keyboard, and then he suggested a few things I could try.

Parts People is a pretty good website to get your laptop parts from. I ordered a lid hinge from them and it came in a timely manner. However, when I got it, one of the hinges wasn't working. But, I was able to replace it with one of my old hinges that was still functional. It was a bit of a bummer that I had to do that, but at least I had a spare hinge laying around.
