My husband and I hired Omni Financial to take care of our ongoing tax issues. My husband had his wages levied and we turned to them for help. They asked for a payment of $5000 in 2 installments of $2500. They sent us all the paperwork for us to sign and we were working with them on our issue. We were told the levy would be released in a week or so. Well we worked with them for about 2 months and come to find out from the IRS they did not hand things in on a timely mAtter so therfore our account was denied with the appeal and the levy remained on his pay. They are a scam and just want to take your money and not do anything about your tax issues. I do not recommened anyone to use this comapny as they will take your money and run. We have contacted the IRS ourselves and have made out better and found out that things we sent Omni in the past that they said they needed were not sent to the IRS. So basically I guess they kept all of it for their own records to make us believe they were working on it. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Hey, Is your name Tammy Strang ? ? If not, You must know her . . . she's an admin person, legal rep, customer service, etc. although when she's done with you the paperwork from the IRS is quite comical, seeing as everyone on her paperwork is "no longer employed". With people like her you need no one else. Tax Resolution from A to Z. Karma can be a beetch.
It is interesting how this person did not personalize the message by listing their name. What a joke this company & its hired employees are. From what I can see on the IRC Sheriffs website, they still have CRIMINALS employed there even as recent as a charge committed in October 2012 (Kristin Battle, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF). Wow!
I have worked for several of these companies over the past ten years and have the inside scoop on all the major tax resolution companies in Colorado.

LOL. ESQ's should not be in this business, either should CPAs. The only people who should be practicing in this industry are E.A.s. Attorneys in this industry are just as bad as the sales goons.
Can't put your name down cause your going to be replaced just like the revolving door up stairs and down.. Your EA's (Enrolled Agents), whom you only have a few of, are not esq like people think. The tele sales people are given different smoke breaks and lunch times cause you don't want the right hand to know what the left has promised... People wake up. You only need to be doing business with a tax advisor who looks at your case in depth before quoting a FLAT RATE.. I left here and did just that.. My biz is great...& Honest.. Find an old CPA in your area..Always file, even if you can't pay...And get current with your tax filings before hiring someone..
Fraudsters and cheaters
I hired Omni Financial
to work on abatement of penalties and/or interest with the IRS. My $3, 500 retainer was used up, but nothing was done for me as promised. I used to be a paralegal, and I know that nothing is ever a guarantee, but at the same time, I expected that some change to our financial situation with the IRS would have taken place as a result of Omni Financial working on our behalf. Omni has done nothing at all to change or help our situation with the IRS!
Nothing, neither positive or negative, nothing! I was promised by the initial Omni Rep. who contacted me that my $3, 500 retainer would be sufficient as a flat fee to complete our abatement issues with the IRS for our back tax debts. Even though I have been told that my entire retainer has been depleted (and I never was sent any billing statement until after the fact!), nothing has been done to either resolve or improve our financial situation at all, or even change it from the way it was before Omni was even in the picture!
IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME! I could have stood here and burned $3, 500 and been the better for it! Omni (Rachel Gillette, Esq.) has done nothing on our behalf at all, except a lot of 'padded' billing (which I just today received!) and wasted time not doing what I requested. Both myself and my CPA have done everything so far, and Omni has not helped at all, but yet has used up all of my $3, 500 retainer. Omni Financial is just another financial scam created to dupe unsuspecting consumers out of their money, and I have had to learn a very expensive lesson here.
No part of our initial request for abatement of penalties and/or interest for our back taxes with the IRS has been resolved at all. I have also had to re-explain quite a few times this same request a few times, as they were not always on track with what I needed them to do: the IRS abatement only, and not any State obligations. The only winner here has been Omni, because they got my $3, 500, money that I didn't have to just throw away. And I have nothing to show for that money, no change at all to our situation. I have really never been so taken advantage of before.

Here's a little secret with Omni. The sales people get paid on ADDITIONAL revenue. they do not get any commission from your original retainer so their goal is to burn through it and get more money from you.
Also, there is a very specific process with the IRS and if Omni cannot present specific letters/documents than you can fry them for lying to you. Make them send you the specific documents and you can find these documents and procedures online at the IRS site. My husband and I decided to tackle the tax issue ourselves (he ostensibly owed $60K - yikes!) and it's fairly straight forward and procedure driven process with the IRS. Within 1-2 months he had the issue resolved and all penalties abated and he ended up owing $6, 500.
Omni is a billing scam and if you look closely at their "contract" there is one important word. The contract states that they will "endeavor" to solve your problem. In legal language that means they will continue to bill you. So use their own language and force them to physically show you how they have "endeavored" to solve your problem.
I was going to pay the retainer to Omni Financial after I researched their history and I see all the scam reports, thank you for taking the time to write the above! i was cold called by omni in 2008, they said it would take $2500 to resolve my tax issues with the irs.after blowing thru that with no progress, they requested $2500 more which should complete the process.after that i got a phone call and a letter that those $ were used up and my case still had not been assigned to an irs case worker. after i was on the phone 1 time for 40 minutes with the irs i got my case assigned. i then called and faxed them a letter asking them to finish my case for the money i already gave them or refund it. i have never heard from them since.

My Company owed the IRS 30, 000 & State of Indiana 180, 000.00 paid omini Financial to help me in my tax problems all they did was drag there feet and take my money Then the State of Indiana passed a law in 2007 any bis owed back taxes they would'nt renew the bis. licence .Omini financial asked for more money and they would make arrangements with the state so I can stay open. Then Omni said the state will do payment arrangement. The payment arrangment was more than I could afford . Then they needed more money to continue my case .They told me the state wont negiotiate so I would have to close or pay it. Closed in 2008 Lost Everything. Waisted 2 years and a lot of money to solve tax dept and still owe to this day with no income to pay .Please Dont USE OMIN FINIANCIAL IT WILL BE THE WORST THING IN YOUR LIFE .
NEVER GO FOR AN OFFER IN COMPROMISE! ITS A SCAM! Okay, an offer in compromise is when you offer the IRS a certain amount of money, good amount, other than what you really owe. Omni also gets you on a payment plan to make sure that you can pay the offer in a period of time. If you default or are late with a payment the IRS will cancle everything, you get your ORIGINAL DEBT back PLUS all the intrest and penalties from when you were paying on it. IT is a SCAM!
I was also scammed by Omni Financial for over $10, 000.00. This past Spring 2009, Omni dropped us because we could not pay another $3, 000 retainer fee. This was the third company we hired trying to do the right thing and fix our IRS problems from when we were younger and dumber. We were with Omni for over two years doing exactly what was asked of us, and all we did was wait. As we waited the retainer fee's kept being asked of us, and the IRS interest and penalties kept growing. Finally, my husband was out of work because of the economy (he was a self-employed sub-contractor; that is how we got in dept in the first place), and I was out of work because I just had a baby in May. I wish I knew of someone who would get Omni Financial back without charging me up front. To this day I am still waiting on the IRS. To come to find out, Omni kept saying that they were waiting on a responce to a letter that was sent to the IRS, but after we were dropped by Omni and had to contact the IRS ourselves, we found out that there was no letter sent. I am broke, about to get forclosed on my house, and discusted about all the dishonest crooks out in the world taking an advantage on vulnerable people who made bad choices in their lives, but are trying to correct them! To: The lawyer above, please email me and make a obvious responce to who you are so I do not think you are junk mail. Thanks. I truly want to find away to make Omni Financial pay. I want my Money!

I have worked for Omni Financial and if you are dumb enough to hire ANYBODY to handle your tax resolution instead of reading and figuring out what is public information then you are dumb enough to fall for Omni's scam. Go to irs.gov do some reading, talk to the IRS-they will help. Oh, and when it comes down to it, you have to pay your taxes. Don't pay Omni, just pay the tax. You'll probably come out ahead. In my year of employment, I truly was able to help 1 person and that is because the IRS approved it before it went into review. Other than that I was baby-sitting clients and "burning through retainer". Save your money and don't hire any "tax resoltuion specialist". The requirements for Installment Plans, Offer in Compromise, Penalty Abatements are all at irs.gov and are the only tax resoltuions these agencies use. Also, file a CDP and you can postpone a levy notive for 30-60 days if not longer. For wage garnishments or any other issues that the IRS is not helping with call your local taxpayer advocate. They will help, oh and these agencies use them too. I really tried to help the clients while their resoltuion as an assistant, but Omni makes it hard to complete this task with any type of intergrity. I decided to try to keep mine and quit after realizing it would never change.

I urge anyone dealing with this company to run the other way. Larry Fischer general manager holds hour long meetings with mcdonalds applications explaining that we will all be fired if we dare ask to take a break from unpaid double shifts to see the children we have not seen. ( mine in a month) He explains that we will be fired because we have not stolen enough money from the consumer just as of yet and his paycheck looks bad when we dont steal enough. has anyone seen the boiler room? Larry Fischer. Thats the name you remember. LArry fischer. He is a thief.
Hi musicboxdancer-
The best way to hurt a company or practitioner is to file a complaint- its easy, put it in writing, email it, ask for a response within 30 days- They don't like the practice of a taxpayer hiring someone to help them and then not doing what they said they were going to do either- especially in your situation. You can contact me personally and I am that honest person that can help you figure out all of your paperwork- and because of your situation, I will do it a no charge- email me at taxresolutionspecialist@q.com and I will help you!
A complaint should be written in a letter format. The letter should include the tax practitioner's name, address, telephone number, designation (i.e., attorney, certified public accountant, enrolled agent, enrolled actuary, etc.), a detailed description of the allegations, and any documents that support those allegations. Please direct all questions and referrals to:

Took $14, 000 of my money to settle tax debt. Claimed they could write offer in compromise. Kept demanding more money. I was sick and in and out of hospital. Kept calling my cell phone and chatting about my health and calling talking to my relatives and charging me for it without my knowledge. Dropped in on them unannounced and they threatened to call the police on me when I demanded a detailed statement. What a bunch of crooks! I kept asking, "shouldn't the IRS be getting this money I'm giving you?" OH no "WE do this everyday, TRUST US"

I am an employee with Omni rip off financial and i can tell you how it works. Sales people a room full of women call up leads that are sold to the company. They get you on the phone and then transfer you to a closer. Now this closer is told by Larry Fischer thier general manager that they must work double shift, never see thier children ( I have not seen mine literally in a month.) I am required to be there at 7:45 and never get paid for this hour. and they want me to leave at 10 that night work sat and sometimes sundays now. Only to berate me, belittle me, degrade not only, myself, but my peers if we dare ask to a day with our childrne or to leave when the management does at the end of shift at 4:30/ we are told that we are not real men. My children wont talk to me, my wife is filing for divorce and LARRY FISCHER tells me that for my sacrices and troubles that this company has caused... i will be fired if i ask for A few hours off because i have not stolen enough money from you people. I suggest you run the other way without ever looking back. Sure i will make lots of money if you dont but you get to keep your money and not deal with the wrath of the IRS because they wont help you.
I was employed with Omni financial for several months. This company hires an expendable task force of employees that they berate, belittle and degrade when they do not keep the board lit up with your money that never really shows any results for the consumer. LARRY FISCHER the general manager is a ring leader of ### you might say. He hires these poor guys with promises of supporting thier families but then publically degrades them when they actually ask to not work one double shift to see that family. If the sales people do not stay these ridiculas hours that he would never work himself they are threatened, told that they will be "shot" and ridiculed in front of all of the other employees. These sales people are basically told to a number that this guy would never be able to hit himself and take away their freedom in order to do it. They destroy marraiges, keep fathers from thier children. My kids have not seen me in a month in the light of day. They are told to do whatever it takes to hit that number and it doesnt matter who they rip off. Please... do not use this firm
I too have been working with Omni Financial for over a year. My initial account rep was promoted a few months after I had signed up - I was told there were a team of folks working on my account and but my previous account rep would continue to overseeing my case and if I EVER had concerns that I was welcome to phone him directly - he even provided his cell number (at his hour rate I guess I don't blame him.).
I have had several folks assigned to my account, since then. Some lasting a few months some lasting a few weeks. No one really has seemed to be overly engaged and my case has received no progress, no closure. Instead the process seems to start over again and again.
After 9 month of working with this company and the changing voices on the phone, I left a message urging him (my initial account rep) to return my call - he did not. I had left 2 messages after that and still no response, from him directly. Finally, I got a hold of him the other day - I was belittled and berated by this individual. Basically, he told me I am unengaged in the goings on of my account. He said I need to review my paper work - and I should be glad to have the company’s representation - that the IRS is difficult to work with! To sum it up, he was not going to entertain any of my questions.
He completely shut me down, told me if I continued to ask questions - he would return my last payment and I could handle the IRS myself.
To say the least I have had a terrible experience with this company. Spending allot of money (that I don’t have) and gotten absolutely no results.
Instead, had my butt handed to me for expressing my concerns and asking for answers regarding my account.
Is there anyway to get the money I have paid to them back, due to lack of results and shabby treatment?
Am I misjudging or reacting?
Stay away!
Stay as far away from Omni as you can, after four long years and $20, 000.00 I was no better after letting Omni handle the IRS as i was when they started. My original Tax lien was only $27, 000. and after fours years, i paid as much to Omni as i am now paying the IRS. After this experience, I have learned the IRS is not as hard and scary to deal with as most people think.
Omni will make lots of calls and send lots of letters, but in the end, it is all about the money that they can get from you, your tax debt is a distant second concern of theirs. I'm sure not all tax services operate this way, but as someone who learned the hard way, stay as far away as you can.

This just has happened to me here in Florida with this company. Omni had me convince that they were working on my IRS problem for four year a total of $18, 000.00 paid to them. Just like everyone else here with their complaints this company was asking for more monies each year even to the point I had to borrow $3000.00 from my sister. I am sure this has happen with me( the LEVY ) because I no longer was willing to pay, for I did not have the money they decided to close my case. Omni knew what would happen to me if my case would be closed out, IRS would come after me, they washed their hands from my case. They closed my case this year and stated we had a Offer of Compromise with the IRS, claims that they have a form on their behalf 8821-Tax Information Authorization- that they will look into my case in 2019 and offer another Offer of Compromise-I took their advice on this -on July 26, 2018 I had a Levy by the IRS on my bank account-they IRS took every penny in my account. I am now working with the IRS on this matter and will not have anything to do with OMNI. They are avoiding my calls. I could of paid off my balance with the IRS in the four years I gave over $18, 000.00 to this company. I took their advice with rolling over my taxes each year to them, now I am in so much debt with the IRS it will take me several years to pay the IRS off. I am going to do everything in my power to go after this company to get my money back or get them out of business. I wrote the BBB and the letter from OMIN was full of false statements that I can back up.
The 'Omni Legal agent' who called me mentioned "Status 53". He said he would file that for me, for a $1, 500 fee. I went onto the IRS website to learn more about Status 53 and discovered that it refers to an IRS code pertaining to debt collection. It allows a delinquent tax-payer to DELAY debt collection based on financial hardship. It does not 'forgive' the delinquent taxes. The best you can hope for is an installment payment plan based on your financial situation.
I then downloaded form 433-F which is the form used to request the collection delay and payment plan. It can be filed out and filed on-line for no ($0.00) charge. Apparently, that is all that is required and all that Omni, or any other tax advisor. can do.
You either qualify, or you don't. No amount of additional phone calls or letter writing will be effective in getting the IRS to ignore or change the law and their collection activities. This is a D I Y project; the 'Tax Relief Advisors" depend on your ignorance and fear of the IRS to charge you exorbitant fees.
Omni has been taking 9.98 out of my checking via automatic withdraw and I have no idea why or what for. The bank entry does not have a phone number and the bank does not know how to get in touch with them. This has been going on for over a year and I would like my money back or in the worst case at least stop the withdraws

I found only good reviews (guess I was looking in the wrong places) about Omni Financial before I signed up. First of all they called me. My recommendation is that you should never trust anyone who has "sales people". I asked if there was any guarantee and was talked a ring around. I paid $1250.00 (notice how people paid various amounts to start). After I made the last payment I got a "conference call" with one other person, not an attorney. I said I wanted a plan of action report. Instead they filed paperwork with the IRS that commited me to $80.oo a month. By the way, I was an individual, not a business. My penalties were small, but the interest was high. The penalties were "forgiven" but they was LESS that OMNIs FEES! The interest is still accrueing. I was told that would not be a problem to get rid of because of my circumstances. I was told at one time that they could make an "offer in compromise" that would be accepted because I had lost my job & used my 401K to pay off my debts. Well it seems that isn't even a possibility now. Could it be that the IRS is finally on to these people? Probably won't help any of us, but I would be interrested in a class action suit.

The Omni Employee in this thread is likely their Customer Service Manager trying to save the company reputation. I was an employee there myself and all of your complaints are justified. Contacting the BBB will not help much as they are not a participating business and a check with the BBB has them flagged anyways. There is a class action investigation being conducted by the following. http://www.class-action-litigation.org/american-tax-relief-investigation.asp. I recommend that you go to the firm listed with your complaint. Only in mass will this company end, but contacting the FTC as well will be the only way these kinds of companies will ever get regulated. Many of the former employees from this place have splintered off into other businesses doing the same thing so the cycle will continue until the government is pushed to regulate them.
Omni Financial is totally rude and incosiderate. We asked them to stop calling nicely and they didn't get the picture. They called from there cell phones and other lines trying to get us to talk to them. Then they sent emails. Almost 8 phone calls in 15 minutes. Talk about harrassment! Why pay someone to do what you can do better and for free!
Hey bitter Omni employee...I am a real person and was scammed by omni. I left my email above. If they are so great why so many complaints all over the internet? I did file a complaint with the BBB and THEY NEVER RESPONDED GO FIGURED! They also just called out of the blue and offered us a settlement. No such luck. We intend on getting all of our money back and now have an attorney we working with. You have no idea what it was like to go through this mess. It nearly cost my my home and my marriage. Sorry you like working there but your working with crooks!
