We requested to channel all payment confirmation SMSes to be sent to our second (overseas) cellular
phone number we used while not in Namibia (April-November 2024) on business trip.
Necessary forms and application were signed in Nedbank with Windhoek Independence Avenue branch manager Cloete Denillo in March 2024.
Up to November 2024 bank account SMS messages for EFT payments have not been sent to
correct cell number, making it impossible for us to execute own account payments. Problem was reported to Nedbank several times from end of March 2024 till October 2024.
Similar problem existed in 2023 but was solved by manual payments made
on our behalf and at our request by Schoonbee Fanie, manager of Nedbank, free of charge.
Request to make manual transfer free of charge was made and Coetzee Alicia undertook
to do it but payment was not made.
She replied instead:
"We have investigated the below and were informed that eft payments done on the 31/10/2024, were not processed b the system due to a system upgrade.
We were not aware of this and extend our sincere apologies on behalf of Nedbank Namibia."
While Coetzee Alicia was extending sincere apologies our account was charged 105 N$ fee for Nedbank's inability to provide payment service, in addition to monthly maintenance/service fees.
Coetzee Alicia ignored our questions sent to her in numerous messages.
Request to change phone number back to Namibian cell sent in November 2024 is also not fulfilled by
Nedbank Namibia - debit card SMS confirmations are still sent to overseas number.
