I just received a bill stating I owe 34.95 for a shipment of a product that when I called they called it an "Installment Payment Plan". BS, I said. I never received any after I canceled the last shipment. They said you only made a payment and I need to pay for 2 more payments. The Visa they had on file actually went missing on a trip to NYC. The card was canceled, but they still want to dupe me into paying for the product that I thought I was paying the Membership price, only to find they were going to debit me every 90 days.
What a scam! I will never recommend this product and I will warn others as well.
Unauthorized payment
THE MORE COMPLAINTS SENT TO THESE AGENCIES THE BETTER

GO TO YOUR BANK AND FILE FOR FRAUDULENT AND AUTHORIZED PAYMENT REFUND
I too went to murad.com to purchase a 30 day lightening kit as a guest, i did not make a customer profile I was automatically charged. In my first phone call Patrick went to his manager after i threatened to complain to FTC for not wanting to give me a full refund and admitted i didn't auto enroll. I thought i was done. i went to send the package off and had to pay 10 for shipping and handling. Well, not that $10 is going to break me, but i sure do not work to fill the pockets of filthy greedy corporate pigs by means of unethical business practices. I have gone through and recorded the ordering process. The site i bought from does not give an option for auto enroll. My receipts have no proof of auto enroll either. I called a second time to request a reimbursement of the postage and handling(it's the principle) Sergio, tried really hard to convince me that I was wrong, while they were giving me numbers and information on a completely different order. At one point he the said i was getting a $128 refund. the honest person that i am i corrected him, I just wanted what i deserved. Sergio then decides hes tired of trying to keep his lies strait and then tells me policy is so strict that i will not get my full refund and i can forget about the postage they are charging me for that(approx $20 lost) WTF? I DO NOT recommend purchasing from this site. contact the agencies above. FTC IS most aggressive.
Murad should be ashamed of itself
I ordered this product and as other users I was charged repeatedly for auto shipments. When I tried to cancel on numerous attempts the customer service reps were useless. I had to cancel my card and report the transactions as fraudulent. Now they have hired a collection agency to harass me for a charge of $39 and threatened to report this negatively with the credit bureaus. I've legally recorded all conversations with their knowledge and will take this up in court if need be. Please save yourself the frustration and waste of time. This is definitely a scam and you can purchase other cosmetic products that will work exactly the same. This is certainly not a miracle skin potion.
Fraudulent and Unauthorized Charges to my credit card
I had the same experience as everyone on this forum. I specifically told the representative that I just want it to be charge for a 30 day trial period. He told me to call in and cancel once I get my first order which I did. I called and canceled on the same day that my order was delivered to me. I got a confirmation number and an agent's name confirming my cancellation, however they sent me a 90 day supply the following month and have been billing my card each month for $39.95 I called their customer service department to request for a refund since I had a confirmation number and agent name from months before when I cancelled. The agent stated that the confirmation number is not in their system and there was no agent named Gabriel that cancelled my order when I originally called. He than tried to talk me into keeping the product and told me he would waive the third month charge at this point. I was completely disgusted and could see that this was definitely a scam through a foreign third-party call center that worked with Murad. I knew that the confirmation number that he was giving me and the fact that he did not have an agent number or could not provide a last name was very suspicious. I knew that I would run into the same problem the following month ahead with billing so I told him to cancel the product and I called my bank fraud department and had them cancel my debit card/cc and I got a full refund from my bank for the two months that they charged my account fraudulently without my authorization. I believe this is the most efficient way to get your money back otherwise you will be very frustrated and stressed out dealing with Murad's Ponzi Scheme operation.

BEWARE OF MURAD!
I called to order a trial set of Murad Resurgance. I made it extremely clear to the operator that I only wanted the trial set; I would see if I liked it and then I would contact them if I wanted more of the Product. Lo and behold, a few weeks later a box of full-sized products arrived (that I did Not order) and my credit card was already charged for the first installment of three! The total was $119.85. I never agreed to this purchase! I called to cancel and Murad refused to send me a confirming e-mail! I asked for a supervisor to call me back. I am not holding my breath. This should be illegal to do business this way.
Ridiculous Wait Time & Product Refund Delay
I ordered Murad skin care products by telephone, received a one month's supply and upon receipt of the second month, promptly called to find out how to cancel my order and return the product so as not to incur a cost for that second month's supply. My initial call to Murad to order the first round of product was answered immediately. When I called the second time to find out about returning the product, I was on hold for 40 minutes before a human being answered the phone to provide me with mailing instructions and information on my order cancellation. This was late August when I called to return the unopened product parcel and cancel my account. I JUST received an email from their customer care department notifying me of my refund back to my credit card. This is over two months since they received the unopened product back to their warehouse. I find this delay to be totally unacceptable. But more inane was the hold time I experienced during my call to their customer service department.
Automatic charges scam
Do not buy anything from Murad company, it is a serious scam. My wife bought a $30 acne set from them on their site murad.com. There was nothing on the site, in the cart, or in the email receipt from the first purchase to indicate there would be additional automatic charges or any kind of automatic membership. But about 3 weeks later she gets an email about the second charge and shipment, $38.00 for that and it will be followed by a third charge in a few more weeks for $34.00. We went back to the site and found the fine print which is only visible if the mouse cursor is hovering over the add to cart button. This is not obvious at all. It is deceptive trickery at best. It should be obvious in the cart and product page. The scam is simple: you buy the first package for $30 and think it is a one time payment. Then about 3-4 weeks later they send you a second package supposedly its worth $60.00 + shipping and charge you $38.00 for that (first installment). Then 4 more weeks later you will get another (third) charge for about $35.00 (second installment). they will keep doing this forever unless you call to cancel it.
If you call and cancel it, they will say it is cancelled but who knows if it really is, and in any case you will at least get a second shipment and the second two charges totaling $73 or so, and they do not tell you about the additional charges at all unless you ask for a written cancellation notice. Because guess what, in writing it becomes legal, then they have to tell you about the money they will still take from you.
When you play the phone game the best they can do is refund your money if you send the 2nd package back. If you do this, send it certified return receipt so you can take this lying company to court when they say they never got the package and try to give you a bad credit score.
The whole idea is to milk the victim for about $100 before they get wise and cancel it and follow through. There is certainly some corporate formula for the percentage of people who will lose patience calling in to cancel it, who will fail to send the package back certified return receipt, and who will fail to get an official cancellation in writing.
Run, do not walk, away from this company. Call to cancel, get the cancellation in writing as an email and read it before you hang up so you can see what they will still charge you in the future and you can protest it.

Yes, Murad.com is a scam! I got a deal on livingsocial.com and it linked me to Murad.com to redeem the voucher, Once you get anything from Murad.com, you enroll in its membership automatically. You have to call and cancel it otherwise they keep shipping you products every quarter. You should ask for an email or written letter as a proof which I didnt. Btw, they dont refund shipping which make sense in e-commerce but doesnt make sense in this concealing unilateral agreement!
Be Aware of Murad.com!
I ordered they sample introductory special offer. I got an extra package 6 weeks later. A big sticker said FREE GIFT INSIDE ! What I got was a bill that spreads out 3 payments totaling $147.90! I called customer service right away, I got the run around

Bad customer service
I'm really upset with this companies advertising and more over there customer service. I called, ordered cause yes, I have some blemishes.
Any way so I get the product and get charged an advertised $30, I decide the product is not worthy and call to cancel. I get another charge for $60 after I do so. I called back and listened to their annoying hold music which interrupts every 30 seconds when you're on the cancel line. They said, oh we shipped you out another box. I said fine, I'll keep it & let my wife try it for her little blemishes but I don't want any more and no more surprise charges! "I apologize Sir, we work for a company that works for Murad, we're not directly employeed by Murad". Today a month later I get another $32 charge! So I call again to listen to that stupid annoying operator sound again! They do that on purpose so that people will want to hang up and delay the cancelation of the "product". This annoying mono tone jerk pics up after 10 minutes of hold and says, "Sir, I cannot help you with a billing problem, if you have cancelled already I can not pull up your info. You called the wrong dept." O.K. Please transfer me, "Sir, I cannot transfer you, we don't have that capability". F&$# Murad, U S*$K! This is rediculous! Cheap companies outsourcing! Clinton and his gr8t ideas!
Murad took away the blemishes some what, Gr8t! But this is high way robbery that no one is monitoring businesses like these who do every thing to scam $$ out of there customers! I will be calling these jerks again when I calmer. I'm in the customer phone support field myself and this is just pathetic service they have going on!

I have read all the comments on this site and came to conclusions that person whose psoriasis is chronic, takes time. One needs to keep patience and follow the prescribe Diet instructions.
Only Ayurveda has solutions to your psoriasis but for this you should be strict on your daily diet. Avoid all fast food stuffs, spicy foods, sugary items, fried and salty items, non-veg, container pack foods with full of preservatives which are highly toxic in nature and bakery products.
Maida use in bakery product is poison for you. It sticks inside guts lining and decreases nutrition absorption capacity.
There are lot of ayurvedic medicines available in around which may help you. Psoriasis will not get cured over night it takes time provided u should take your medicine religiously and should follow control diet.
I was having chronic plaque psoriasis from last 15 years and friends I too spend more than 4 -5 lakhs rs on Allopathy and Homeopathy treatment but it all went in vain. With my bad experience you can save your time and money by taking right decision. And amazing fact that I got cured in 4 months and from more than 3 years I am helping Psoriasis people around.
More than 50 men/women got cured by the antioxidant medicines which I recommended them which are at very reasonable cost.
I have really burnt my fingers and learnt this all. If my knowledge helps Psoriasis sufferer through rich antioxidant medicines, which starts working from the first day and give me blessings then I would be the happiest person in the world.

Murad had the worst customer service ever, I have tried almost all their customer service care numbers but they do not answer, now how do I cancel my automatic shipping
This is the worst, most unorganized company I have ever dealt with. I signed up with Murad a couple of years ago, received products and liked them. However, the cost and the method of payments became problems for me. I spoke with representatives on 4 different occasions to cancel my membership. The first time I called, I decided to remain a member after the rep explained other options. But I decided about 6 months after to go ahead and cancel. I called to express this and was told that my account was cancelled and no payments were pending. My account was debited again, and when I called, I was told that the payment was for a previous order. I was also told that I had two accounts - which I wasn't aware of. I expressed my wish to cancel that one as well. Again, I was told no payments were pending. I received another package, called again and was told again that my account(s) was closed. Today, my account was debited again! Just got off the phone, same conversation that I've had on three different occasions - this was the last payment for a package previously received. How do I get away from this crooked company?!
Worst customer service I have ever received from any online shop.
I was charged for an item that I ordered but did not receive. A week later, after having several conversations with customer service, I am still waiting for approval to get a refund. They call it "protocol". I call it poor customer service and a good way to lose customers. The company can and should launch an investigation to find out why this item is missing but in the meantime, they should care for their customer who did not receive an item they paid for. Regardless of who is to blame for the item not getting to me, the item did not get to me and my claim should be processed. I will never shop on Murad / Bally Direct ever again nor will I recommend them to anyone. I'm not even sure I will purchase Murad products through Sephora again because customer service was THAT BAD and the thought of Murad being affiliated with Balley Direct leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.
If Balley Direct's "protocol" is to make customers unhappy and make them wait as long as possible for any kind of service, they are doing a great job of it and will lose many customers while they figure out how to run a business. They should look at how Sephora treats their customers, they could learn a thing or two.
Do not order from Murad‼️ They will continue to charge your card on a monthly basis once they get your information. Even if you cancel your "subscription". It' a scam, comparable to identity theft, because they will rob you and say that they can only refund a portion of what was paid, even when the product was not received. I hate the fact that they are preying on people so that they can be wealthier! STAY AWAY FROM MURAD‼️‼️‼️
I'm so glad I came to this site and read the complaints before ordering. I believe the reviews listed because I tried to order a kit on their website and as soon as you hit "add to cart" a box pops up stating that you are being enrolled in a membership. I wanted the "rapid dark spot corrector kit" and after doing some research, found out that it is also called the" environmental shield kit" (minus a bottle of some sort of peel/mask). Ulta, QVC and Sephora also carry their "starter kits" . My suggestion, pay a little extra and order from one of these places and save your self the headache.
I ordered Murad Resurgence Starter kit off a TV commercial as a 30 day trial product for $30 over six months ago. I did not order anything else and I told them right during the order call sales pitch that I did not want to be a member in any "'club" to receive future discounts, that I did not want to receive any further products from them at all unless I called in again to place an order (which I never did), and that they were authorized to charge my credit card for ONLY this one time 30 day trial offer. I don't like the produce! I have received a box with a "free gift' enclosed 3 times now. I call every time to tell them I didn't order it, credit my credit card, do not send me any more, I don't want it! I have been given a run around every call. I am always given the same story. We're so sorry, ma'am, the last person didn't cancel your account correctly. But you can TRUST ME. Your account is now closed (after waiting 30 minutes on the phone with lots of hold periods), your credit card has been credited, you will not receive any more bills or product. I get the persons name and ID (each time, that person doesn't work there anymore!) This has gone on 3 separat times. I now receive yet another box of product! They charged my credit card $58.68 and then note that they will be charging me the balance once a month until the balance if paid $168! THIS IS CRAZY.
Every phone call I get a person's name and ID number and every one of them give me the same excust...the last person didn't cancel your order correctly but YOU CAN TRUST ME, because i am cancelling it correcly now. Then I ask for a return authorization numer which they promise I'll have in 7 days. Can you guess? I never receive one! So i call again because they send, yes, you guessed it...MORE PRODUCT for which they charge all over again. I just got another one with another bill. Murad also reported me to a collection agency! for not paying their bogus bill once i cancelled the credit card they were using! UNBELIEVABLE! If anyone out there knows how and to whom this abuse can be reported, please let me know ... joantoohey10@gmail.com.
The same thing happened to me. I ordered a 30 day product and no where on my order did it say I was signing up for a membership. Murad took it upon themselves to send me a 90 day supply of product I didn't order and charged my card without my authorization. I loved the product but will never do business with them again as this is shady and illegal. I'm putting a complaint in with my credit card company now.
Which is untrue, because customer service is available to order MEMBER pricing, Monday through Saturday.
I like the products ok, and I am ok with the automatic shipping, what makes me frustrated is that once you purchase the kit you automatically become a member! As a MEMBER, the catalog lists membership prices, but when you order other products online you cannot get those prices, but the full price! I spoke twice to their live chat persons, both of whom gave me an address of murad.com/membershiponly as the spot to order with membership prices. The site is bogus! I opened a new window and went to the site, then copied and pasted the response immediately back into the live chat so the person could see that the site did NOT work! They said "Oh, I'm sorry... the site is temporarily not functioning"! Sure... I didn't tell them I had already tried it two weeks before. Bottom line, apparently if you want the product, you pay full price regardless.
predatory service
Murad Inc has predatory business practices where the company will ship you the product and keep shipping it and charging your credit card. Even if you refuse to accept the package, never open it and return the whole thing for the full refund, they will still charge your credit card and then you have to fight for the refund. Ultimately, they won't refund you the shipping and that is $9 each time. Just avoid doing any kind of business with companies like this.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I’ve have purchased 3 bottles now and everytime I purchase I open the box when I get home and th bottl is visibly smaller but the price remains the same😡purchased at cosmoprof in Muncie Indiana for 55.99 I am a cosmologists how can you promote a product that is so dishonest in their packaging? I have included a picture.
Something if very 'off' about ordering from Murad.com. Monday I placed my first order, and did not receive an emailed confirmation. When I placed a second order Wednesday, I did receive a confirmation for my second order, and initiated an online chat session to inquire about my Monday order's missing confirmation. It seemed like I was chatting with a 'bot', which stated that my Monday order had shipped Monday and provided me with an invalid UPS tracking number. Thursday I received the Monday orders shipping confirmation, and I was charged. I then received BOTH orders through the post office on Friday! Today, Sunday, I have finally received the shipping confirmation for the Wednesday order, for which I have yet to be charged, and it does not appear on my Murad account. This is very bizarre and I am not confident in ordering from this site again, especially after reading these experiences!
2017 and this company is still using shady business practices. I ordered from Murad and received my first package for $97. I then ordered again and received my package for $47. I noticed that they were going to ship again, so I called. They said they removed me from the "membership" program and the auto shipments (that I did not sign up for). Four months went by and I received no products and no more communications. Today I receive a notice from a collection agency for $29.95! I called Murad and they sad it was due from the second shipment, but I received no products. I have absolutely no idea why I owe the money. or why they would send me information to a collection agency with no prior communication. They have my name, address, phone number, and email address in their files. Seems like if they think I owe them money that maybe they should have tried to contact me prior to sending me to collections and ruining my credit. Do not buy from this company. They have good products but terrible business practices.
I ordered skincare products from Murad for $180 bucks. I declined any enrollment in auto ship programs. Exactly three months later, I received products from Murad shipped to my house. I did not authorized this shipment or order anything. I then checked my credit card statement and was shocked to see a $70 charge from Murad. Their invoice also stated this was a 3-part monthly shipment and I had two more future shipments of $70 upcoming the next two months. I checked my online Murad account and it said I was not in any auto ship program. So then I called Murad, they said although they have no proof to support I authorized an auto ship program, they said "you must have clicked something to do this and there's nothing we can do now". They said if I wanted to cancel the other two upcoming $70 charges (a total of $140) then I had to keep the one shipment I already had ($70). If I returned the products I already received, then they had no choice but to bill and ship me the remaining $140 for the other two months. Little did they know I already cancelled the credit card they have on file because of this. I argued for a half hour, then gave up talking to this idiot customer service rep at Murad.
Luckily, I always use credit cards that go on credit and never debit cards that take directly out of my bank. I called my credit card company and explained the fraudulently practices going on by Murad and how the internet showed hundred of other cases of Murad ripping them off with unwanted/unauthorized auto ships. The credit card company ruled in my favor and I received a credit of $70! I am now keeping $70 worth of Murad's products out of spite, plus I got my $70 credit :) Now who got screwed Murad? I refuse to pay shipping to return them anyways, out of principle of the thing. I'm happy to say I won this battle but there are many others out there falling to prey to the predatory company known as Murad.
Dear Emily from Murad,
I just got $300 taken out of my bank account by your company today for product I did not order.
Your product is fantastic - so why can't you sell it ethically?
Why can't people choose to sign up for your refill service if they want it or just order skin care when they need it instead of you tricking them into it?
Doesn't that seem rational to you?
I always order my skincare from your company online, but apparently the limited time "free offer" that was offered signed me up for refills I did not want. I am now on a medical leave from work after major surgery. I have a smaller wage than usual and I now have bill payments coming out and now I don't have enough money to cover them because of this random charge from your company.
My car payment is going to bounce because of the amazing service you offer. I guess I am not one of those other "happy women".
I did not approve nor order this product and now have to refuse it and wait for your company to refund me.
Regardless how you would like to spin this, as it is you job to make your company seem that is it doing this on the up and up - it is not.
Otherwise this message board would not exist.
I know that online complaining won't get me anywhere, so I guess I can just go to the better business bureau.
Thanks for your time.
Hi! I'm Emily from Murad. Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. I wanted to provide you with a little more information. Enrollment in our Murad Membership program is strictly voluntary and we do our absolute best to provide full disclosure several times in several formats to ensure that each customer is completely aware of the details before voluntarily enrolling. These posts span a period of more than 3 years, during which time Murad has provided products and services for millions of very happy women. I ordered this product on February 10. I was planning on making 3 payments of 39.95 for the trial. I received 2 packages 1 trial size set and another full size set (the one I thought I ordered) . I thought they charged me all at once because my first payment was $96.38. I let that go assuming that was it. NOPE - Over the next few weeks I was charged $43.23, 59.53, 43.23, and today $77.24! $320 for 6 tubes of ### lotion that I could have picked up a Walgreens. I don't recall joining a membership I never join stuff like that. Pretty tricky "sales" technique! I should have paid better attention to my bank statement. I haven't gotten anywhere so I'm having my bank prevent any more payments.
I have been purchasing Murad products for many years from their website being careful to avoid the introductory kits because I definitely did not want to get any automatic shipments. Apparently with my last order I inadvertently order a kit that signed me up for auto ship. They used to have a pop-up box that told you when you were ordering something that caused auto-ship so they must have removed that warning making it hard for even for a longtime customers like me to be aware of what they are buying. I just got off the phone with "customer service". It was frightening. They give you a huge run-around, their jobs (or lives) must depend on keeping auto-ship customers even at the cost of totally alienating loyal customers like me who prefer to buy on an as needed basis. While he finally said (after what seemed like forever of me trying to get a straight answer about what I would need to do to make auto-ship stop) he would remove me from auto-ship. I don't have any confidence that will happen so I will need to call them again before 90 days to stop any shipments as well as take the advice of the other reviewer and ask my credit card co. to block payments. A shame because I really like their products.
Every time I call to cancel my auto ship account I'm told 'it's cancelled, you'll not receive anything else from us.' Then I get more product and get billed again. When you call to complain they act surprised, 'Well you thought you cancelled it but I don't show that.' Then they tell you just refuse the package. Then you don't get your refund. Then they tell you that you should have been given a return authorization number. They lie, lie, lie. Don't subscribe. Just buy over the counter at Ulta or JC Penney or Massage Envy.
Thank you all for your write ins. I just saw this on TV and considered trying the product. After reading your reviews I definitely will not even try the product. Also...when they put you on auto ship...maybe you should just call your credit card company and get a new card with a new number on it? I have done this with my debit card before because of companies like this. You can bet when they try to charge the old card and it doesn't go through someone will call you and then you can cancel.
If any company tries to negatively impact your credit...you can go on line and dispute it. It's very simple to do and most times they side with the consumer and make the repair to your credit. After enough of these complaints happen...the credit agency will black mark the company doing it. I know it's a pain but there are many ways to deal with this type of thing. Hope this helps a bit. Thanks again for the heads up on this company!
