Mungo Homes review: Delay in Hynes Park.

My husband and I relocated to Columbia SC in November 2024 from GA and signed a contract with Mungo. The home was in its building stages in February. We were told our home would be ready in May. Perfect because we are living back and forth with relatives. Out visiting the property in April before going back to GA, we were approached by another realtor about our home. I was skeptical, and excited new area. I said we move in May. She said no there’s a delay. We were not informed by anyone from Mungo, especially Shanika from that site. I’ve been just experiencing issues after issues with things with them. The land erosion, the sales assistant not communicating effectively with us, because Shanika was out. Our contract was written incorrectly and he had to redo that. Said we would get a ceiling fan in family room and no ceiling fan. Now this delay with water and sewage. Just giving all kinds of excuses. The builder super said we will close in July. We are now basically homeless. We are with a third family home since November. It’s been so stressful. Shanika tells me to mentally prepare myself to close in August or September. After July if we don’t close I don’t know where we will go. I heard so many complaints about this company. I don’t like a lot of things about our home. Nails already popping out from the walls. This was a semi walk through we did to see how the house was coming along. Railing to stairs poorly painted. Poor design on the land and the houses are too close. This subdivision was not well thought out and foresee many issues. Already…. A delay. Not fair and what about us and others. Shanika appears nice, but can be rude. Said she helped me. How? They are not on the same page at all. Yes, offering me my earnest money back is easy, Then we are told July move in I was ok. Now August or September. They cannot give a definitive date. I’m flying by the seat of my pants with them. Dissatisfied disappointed and heartbroken. It’s like I’m at there mercy, I now have to start all over with searching for a home. Not fair. They don’t even care.
