Mungo Homes review: Delayed completion date

We selected a Lancaster model with mungo homes. The realtor and sales representative keeps showing us a Lancaster that’s not like ours. We have not seen a model home like the one we are planning to purchase. I wasn’t able to customize any selection, but later told it’s not a custom build. It’s been issues with this new site in Haynes Park. We were told our move in date was May 2025 and not it’s pushed back until August/September and we are out of state and expecting the May date. Now due to occupancy permit issues is causing the delay. First it was sewer, now this. This subdivision has been on hold for building back in 2024. INow on hold again. Yes, the sales representative works well with communication, but to tell me to terminate my contract because we can’t keep revisiting your dissatisfaction was inappropriate and offering me my earnest money back. I became even more hesitant about this build. Because it’s not a custom build, I can tell I don’t have quality base boards, hanging lights and the miscommunication about the ceiling fan in the family room was an issue. The builder is great about updates, but I want to know about the quality of our home. These complaints about poor quality grass, improper drainage, which I had a huge question about the side of my home, because they have to put a swale there. Possibly a wall. That’s scary, what kind of wall. I have looked at ever detail of this house, before returning to GA and not comfortable. If I knew the houses were going to be so close, all the slopes in the backyard and grounds unleveled, I would not have committed to this. Because of several complaints and what I’ve been through, I’m reconsidering this home. I want to be happy with my first house and relocating from GA to SC I’m so disappointed about the delayed completion and all you get is beyond my control. What is mungo going to do for inconveniencing my husband and I? I also hold my realtor responsible for some of this and reconsidering if he should get a commission for all of the miscommunication. Some photos said the home would have a walk in shower. Shown a model with a walk in shower and I have a garden tub with a shower and have to use a rod for a curtain in my primary bath. What! Who designed this house? Don’t show me a model with tray ceilings and I’m not getting that. Tell me exactly what this house is going to have and let me decide from there. I have been so disappointed and so unsettled about this house and location of this subdivision, because of the issues they kept having. HOA 520 annually and covers side walks and street lights I was told. No sidewalks on the opposite side of my house and no other amenities. A bland entry sign with no light to visibly see the subdivision at night. All the houses being built by Mungo, this company can do better. No, I’m not happy right now. I’m in another state and cannot see my home, that’s very scary. I was in SC for months and was hoping to move in May and another realtor with her client told me about the delay. I had to return to GA and now living with relatives. Disgusted really.
