I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the recent rejection of my application with Mr Price, which was declined on the grounds that I am not legally married. I am currently in a customary marriage, which is regarded as a valid and legal marriage under South African law, specifically ACT 120 of 1998.

While I do not possess a marriage certificate from the Department of Home Affairs, I do have supporting documentation such as a Lobola negotiation letter and photographs as proof of my customary marriage. Additionally, I receive a monthly income from my husband, which I believe demonstrates my financial stability.

I kindly request that Mr Price considers customary marriages as valid for the purposes of your policies, as they are legally recognized in South Africa. The rejection has caused significant disappointment, especially as I was very eager to have this account, and I believe that my circumstances meet the legal criteria for a valid marriage.

I would appreciate your understanding and a reconsideration of my application, or guidance on how I can provide alternative proof of my marital status.
