My wife was admitted into observation room 110 on 6/21/26 at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands after being transferred from another location. While she was there the level of care she received was anything but 5 stars. The only thing that was managed while she was there is pain, by pumping her full of morphine and other pain management drugs. No doctor should come in and tell anyone what pain they should be feeling. To my understanding from multiple doctors that entered the room, a 10mm kidney stone cannot be passed naturally, then why was nothing done? We requested a consult from a urologist that had just done the same procedure for my wife's mom, and he refused multiple times at the requests of us and other doctors. Then we get told that a 5-billion-dollar revenue a year hospital doesn't have the equipment to do the procedure done a week or two before. The night staff were the only ones who helped in anyway and seemed to understand where her pain was at. She was told multiple times that the pain she claimed did not line up with the findings. Had multiple requests for a patient advocated, which was rude and didn't even try to help on her behalf. The whole reason she was there was for a 10mm kidney stone is what we were told from the location she was transferred from. While at The Woodlands location no other imaging was done, only "testing" done was blood draws daily. Requested multiple times to do more imaging to make sure nothing was being missed for the amount of pain she was in and might as well have been talking to a rock. She was released three days later only to have done what should have been done in the hospital. Which is the lithotripsy to break up the stone to give her relief she should have got while there. It has cost us money we didn't have, only to have to borrow it and time neither of us have off work and who knows how much more time after the procedure. This has been the worst care I have ever seen at a hospital and makes me question if I should change all of my doctors to someone different. This was blatant negligence of care for the time we were there. This is a malpractice case if I have ever seen one and is completely unacceptable.
Claimed loss: WagesTimeMonetary in multiple formsSleep
Desired outcome: The ideal outcome would be a refund for our losses incurred outside the facility. Followed by a response to this complaint, coupled with an apology for the less than stellar care. Also make sure it never happens again.
