How responsive is Meijer's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Meijer handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Meijer and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Meijer customer service

Cynthia was my cashier..
The store is a complete mess, they're doing a remodel if that's not frustrating enough you reach the checkout lines & they have 3 lines open other then uscan (which is a 20 limit)... Cynthia desires she's gonna give everyone in line dirty looks as she takes 15 minutes to check out a person with gift cards! I finally reach my turn and she's RUDE as [censored] then puts my $3.99 donuts (not the cheep ones) in a bag and piles all my Cats food on top! This Broad NEEDS to be reminded that WE the customer pay her wages!

Meijer deli

went into Meijers yesterday and purchased a slice of "hot" pizza from the deli area along with 3 pieces of chicken wings. As the cashier told me my total I handed him my credit card to pay and picked up my pizza that was boxed. I immediately noticed that it wasn't hot at all. It was lukewarm. I asked the cashier, "Is this hot?" (Politely informing him that it wasn't nonchalantly). His response was, "Yeah, we've been having problems with that thing. We keep turning it up and down. It never seems to work right". ( He was referring to the lamplight, that keeps the pizzas warm). I in turn opened the the box and touched the pizza (he had completed the payment transaction then). It was cold, which made the cheese really stiff. Of course he knew it was. He just pointed and said, "Theres a microwave over there." I stupidly used the microwave and warmed the pizza. When I got to the car I thought about what happened. And thought to myself.."Why should I have to warm up pizza thats made fresh, sits under a light and on top of a warmer to keep it hot for paying customers?" It makes no sense! I didnt eat it. Then I tried to eat the chicken I purchased. I t was undercooked and very slimy. What a horrible experience!

Meijer manager

My sister and I were shopping today Sunday March 31th, when she informed me that some of the Lean Cuisines were marked down to 2/$2.65. All the others were marked 5/$10.00. So I put some in my cart. My sister checked out first and discovered that the 2/$2.65 ones rung up $2.99 each. She got a adjustment and came to where I was checking out to let me know that the Lean Cuisines were ringing up at the higher price. The manager heard my sister and came to the register to say that we were wrong they were 5 for $10.00. Nothing we could say could make her believe we were telling the truth. So I said we dont want to argue we just want the lower price since it was marked lower. She moved the cashier over and gave me the lower price . The nice cashier continued to ring me up when the manager came back again to tell me those Lean Cuisines were not supposed to be sold at the lower price. At this point I asked her if we could go back and look together and she said no she saw it and knows she is right. Well on my way out of the store my sistef watched my groceries and I looked again and they were marked 2/$2.65, and the supervisor was communicating with a staff member to change the price. Worse day at Meijers ever. I have been a loyal customer since this store opened. I believe the supervisors name is Roselyn. The cashiers name is Toinetta. Time of day 2:15 pm. And yes I would like a response.

Meijer unethical behavior

This Meijer store is awful. The service is terrible, The cashier's are rude or to busy talking to each other to wait on the customer's that pay their salary's The last two weeks I went there their are no carts inside. I had to go out to the parking lot and find my own. One of your employee's I told said quote { I am sorry and I know we have lazy employee's that hang out in the back and don't want to work and their supervisors do nothing
Two weeks ago on a Monday at 10:00AM their was only once check out lane open. Not self scan. Their were at least 11 people in line. When you have a lot of items you don't want to use self scan. One of your associates directed me to get out of line and go to the 12 and under check out. I asked her twice if that was ok she said yes. I went over and cashier did not great me just gave me a dirty look. I explained that I was directed to come over she asked me who told me to do that I did not know her name. I told her I wasn't telling her a lie and she got snotty and said I didn't call you a liar and started yelling across the aisle to verify I was telling the truth. Not once did she smile or even look at me. When I was all done no Thank You nothing she just looked at me and asked is there something else?
Then this Monday I went to the same store which I will not again shelves empty place is a mess. I was checking out and my cashier was to busy chit chatting with three of her co-workers which they do their a lot. Once of her co-workers was talking very loud about a customer that was not happy and how she told her. Whom ever is the manager of that store needs to go to class on customer service. I felt a bit discriminated against as I am not African American. As the cahier's were all chummy with each other. You need to quality help or send them to training. This store has really gone down hill in last 6 months or so.

Meijer prescription

Pharmacy
Your store policy does not make sense. I went to a Redi-Care on Sunday 2-17-19 and receive a prescription for a controlled substance for 3 days as that is the law. I had it filled at your Charlotte pharmacy. I went to my physician on 2-20-19 to get an additional prescription for the same medication as I needed more than 3 days of medication. Mid-Michigan Physicians made the prescription, and the pharmacist would not fill the prescription without first checking with my doctor (authentication). They called my doctors office and left a message...god knows when they would call back since that office is large and extremely busy, notorios for not responding timely. I live 35 miles away from Lansing and come into town for professional services. It was quite a inconvenience to wait the allotted time to get my prescription, only to have it not filled. My compaint indicating that I had just had it filled on 2-17-19 fell on deaf ears and the cashier & pharmacist acted like I was wasting their time even asking simple questions.
None of the staff acted kind to me since I was then required to "Take" my prescription and go some where else. Going back to the drop off window to get my prescription was also greeted with contempt. The young cashier, pharmacist (middle aged woman with shoulder length blond/grey hair) and black woman who worked the "drop off window" could not give a "rat's [censored]" about me. I can appreciate legislation regarding controlled substances, but as a senior citizen I do not appreciate such scrutiny. My pain is substantial, I walked into the store as bending and leaning at a drive up pharmacy window does not work for me, stood in line (painfully), all of which exhaborated my medical condition. My experience at your store was nothing more than being treated like a Mexican drug lord. I was only trying to get my prescription filled after going to the doctor, then to go home and rest. I was not anticipating the wait, poor customer service, and having to get out of the house again tomorrow to get medication. Maybe some day your staff will experience great pain and need a opioid, and then realize that perhaps a simple phone call to the customer could mean a world of kindness. Just because the opioid was prescribed to me, does not mean I am an prescription abuser.
Regards,
Patrick Long

Meijer checkout lanes

I was at the store on February 15th. I realize I was checking out late (10:45pm), but the only lanes open were for self check out. This is fine, except when you have a large order (I had over 40 items). There is no room to put this many items, and the system won't allow you to bag and put them in your cart until you are completely finished with checking out. Overriding or solving this issue would have eliminated much of my disappointment. I had to carefully stuff all of my items on a very small table which only included 2 bag holders anyway. When I was finally finished, I was continually taking bags from the checkout in front of me to bag my items all the while the computer is constantly and annoyingly telling me to remove all of my items from the bagging area. Mind you, this a while when you have many items. The most frustrating and angering part of all of this was the fact that there were 2 cashiers (or checkout helpers-I'm unsure of their title) who were standing there just talking to each other. The store was not busy, and there were few, if any, other customers also checking out. Neither of them offered to help in any way to make my checkout experience easier. I would have liked to see them offer to open a regular lane, or at least offer to help me bag my items at the end or figure out a way to more easily self checkout with so many items. The table is not big enough for a large order. Not everyone who is shopping later in the evening is buying only a small number of items. I normally enjoy shopping at Meijer, but I was very disappointed in my experience there last night.

Meijer lied to in a interview.

Good afternoon,
Rencently I was interviewed for a new position at one of your new stores opening in Sheboygan WI. My first interview went smoothly and we both were very satisfied. Now my second interview I feel the man who interviewed me was very rude. He asked me why I wanted to leave my job I am at now to come to Meijers after 8 months.. My answer was because 1. I am looking for a company I can grow with. 2. I want more interaction than what I am getting now with customers/coworkers.. As of right now I go to work do my 8 hours of work solo don't see anyone and go home. I told him I am very much a people person and I want my customers to leave beyond satisfied and feeling great. He responded I see you prefer 3rd shift which yes I do but 3rd shift isn't a deal breaker at all. He replied well I don't think you would get anymore interaction with others at Miejers. And again I said politely I do understand 3rd shift can be much slower but I am open to all shifts. Right after I said that he said well all my questions are done do you have any for me I said no sir none at the moment. He said well I don't think your going to find what your looking for here but we are interviewing today and we all get together afterwards and pick who we chose and we will be back in touch either way. I shook his hand and we parted. I was lied to because they are hiring on the spot as my husband was hired from that same man. I don't understand why a man as a director of the west bend store couldn't just say I am not interested in you what so ever for this reason. I have solid strong work history. I was a military family for 11 yrs so my jobs I had different ones. I guess maybe I should ve happy that I didn't get hired as I wouldn't want to work for a company who lies to prospective employees. I have a very well rounded back round in customer service /management. And I know for me I have never lied at anyone I interviewed ever I was very straight forward with everyone. I felt compelled to say something after the same man hired my husband on the spot which I thought was pretty cold. But either way I wish the new Sheboygan the best and I will go ahead and take the other job offer I had. God bless.

Meijer service

Stopped at Meijer to pick up a few beers for the super bowl, employee named Kristie had a attitude while asking for my ID which I had ready in my hand. she rips my ID out of my hand then throws it back at me instead of handing it back. So I used my debit card and was about to get money back OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. She makes a decision about my bank account and cancelled the option. I Needed the money for a co pay for a medicine for my 6 year old by the way. So I asked for a general manager which she asked if I wanted to wait for her to open another register to get money out, would cost me another charge on my debit account. I was upset and told the manager she should write her up. I would like to see something be done about the actions of this employee. Mr.McKervey

Meijer lake & trail work boots

I bought a pair of Lake & Trail work boots for my son on 12/08/18 for Christmas. Just a month later they are literally falling apart. I didn't get any satisfaction from the local Meijer where they were bought. If your going to sell a brand and that brand is linked to your company, why don't you stand behind it? Never again will I buy that brand and I wont recommend it to anyone!

Meijer fuel station (diesel)

I arrived on 1-23-19 at the Meijer fuel station #154 on 8225 E. 96th Street, Indpls, IN 317-585-2429 at 1:19 pm. Price of Diesel on this day was 2.599 per gallon. I went to the Diesel pump to fuel up. I was on pump #12. My truck says I should be getting 19.3 gallons of fuel. I figure that that number might be a little off by a half gallon or so. So I filled up and then looked at the pump. The pump says that I was charged for 25.932 gallons a 6.632 gallons over what I should have received. That is a $17.23 dollar over charge. Can you explain this for me please so I better understand why we, the consumer, are being way over charged? And how do I receive the over charge back?

Meijer drive thru unethical behavior

On Friday evening, January 18, 2019, I pulled into the Meijer pharmacy on West Saginaw in Lansing, MI to pick up a prescription I had ordered the day before. It was approximately 7:15pm when I pulled up. There was ONE car in front of me. After about 15 minutes I became a little antsy because I had to be at work at 8pm. Cars had begun to pull in behind me. At approximately 7:50pm, I felt my blood pressure start to rise and began to honk my horn furiously. The prudent person would have just drove off, right? Wrong. The drive thru is structured so that you are blocked in and can't get out unless the vehicle in front of you moves. Once I began to honk the horn, the customers ahead of me jumped out of the car and began to scream that they are getting their prescriptions filled. I then called inside and the person at the drive thru window answered the phone. I knew it was him because I was so close to the window that I could clearly hear every word he spoke, even when he asked me if he could place me on hold. My response "Absolutely Not, as I have waited in line long enough". I then explained to him that I was enraged and need to be let out of the line immediately because I also have a job that I need to be at in 10 minutes. The pharmacist then hung up on me. I got to the window and asked him if he had completely lost his mind. You cannot trap people in a drive thru line for nearly an hour while you fill a prescription. First of all, there's so many safety issues that I can't even begin to name them all but most importantly, if that customer could not be serviced in a time-frame that's becoming to the customers in the line, then they should have either been asked to come in or come back. If I had thought I could compose my anger enough to deal with the police, I would have called them. The pharmacist then proceeded to log off of his computer and walk away from the drive thru window.

Wow - really people. I'm with this guy - as a pharmacist - if you know it's going to take longer than 10 minutes - you ask the customer to please pull out of line - and they will text you when the script is ready and you can either pull back in line or come inside. I would not want to be held hostage in a line I couldn't get out of either. And how arrogant of the pharmacist to leave other people waiting that long when a script was already ready for the man 2nd in line and there would have been no waiting for this man. So maybe you all don't have a life and have no where to go, but I can definitely sympathize with this guy. The drive-thru is a convenience - waiting in line for more than 15 minutes for one customer is not convenient for anyone.

If you are too lazy to get out of your car and walk a few steps into the building that's your fault . If you didn't give yourself enough time to accommodate delays, that's your fault.
Prescriptions can take a while to fill, and being a rude jerk and in your own words, honk your horn furiously, helps nothing. If I was in the car in front of you I would have told you off too!
How would you like it if someone treated you that way? And you were inexcusably rude to the person in the pharmacy trying to assist you. If you had called the police, they would have laughed in your face.
Hopefully your prescription was to help you be less of a selfish self-centered jerk and learn how to behave in society.

Meijer pharmacy

I have now deal with two not great situations with the Charlotte Meijer Pharmacy. The first time I came in to fill a prescription for my son they left me walking around for an hour waiting for them to fill my son's prescription finally I had to walk up to them only to be told that their system was down and they could not fill my son's prescription. And now the second time I pulled up to the window at 6 was ignored while I was sitting there another young woman came up to the window and rudely told me that she was not going to fill my son's prescription today and then I was not there before the time that they closed arguing with me this whole time refusing to fill my son's prescription very unprofessional and I will not be using Meijer Pharmacy anymore let alone shopping at Meijer and I will be sharing my experience with all my friends and family and a large majority of social media

Meijer shipt delivery service thru meijer / told to withhold paper receipts from meijer

Let me start by saying, I have shopped at Meijer in Burton MI since I was a kid. I 've always gotten good service there. I would hate to think Meijer was aware of the poor business practices of Shipt or want their good name affiliated with an unethical business like shipt.

Today I purchased online grocery's from Meijer grocery store in Burton MI. My receipt given on line, stated I paid 80.00 for a whole chicken that was priced at 19.94 in the store. There were several other errors like this one on my receipt. When I contacted my local Shipt service, I was told there had been a glitch in there system and those prices were not correct. I explained it was difficult to compare, as I never received a paper receipt when the groceries were delivered. To my surprise, I was told Shipt actually tells there shoppers not to give the paper receipts to customers because it confuses them. This is a problem. Everyone is entitled to their personal shopping receipt. This especially targets our vulnerable elderly population to being financially exploited. Shipt, also could not give me a definite amount I was being charged that was referred to as the "up charge" for every 35.00 of items. I was told it was around 5.00 each time. Since when does a business not give clear prices for their service, send a receipt filled with errors and refuse to give their customers the paper receipt of items the customer purchased? There appears to be no transparency in this service. I am not even sure this is legal... I will be contacting Meijer grocery store to explain their partnership with Shipt's apparent unethical practice, in the hopes of motivating your business to make much needed improvements in their service.

Meijer price / shelf and register difference

This is the 3rd time I've had this happen. I get to the register and things are ringing up different then what they're marked on the shelf. 11ounce maxwellhouse coffee. All cans marked 3 dollars. I get home and notice I was charged 4.39. I also had a $.75 coupon in mperks that the register didn't use. I was able to catch 3 price differences. But when I got home I noticed that I had $4.25 worth of mperk coupons that didn't get used. I was over charged on the coffee and a couple clearance items that should have had an additional reduction at the register didn't get reduced. The clearance items when I did the price check showed additional 25%. I. normally don't make a big deal about things . If All the customers are being over charged it's pure WRONG! It may only be around 6.00 this time but if you times it by all the customers it adds up quickly. With mperks I'm not understanding how it will use some coupons but not others when they're added at the same time. This has become a Hassle when shopping trying to keep up with prices to double check at register!

Meijer pharmacy

I called in the Meijer store on Monday, December 17, 2018, to refill a prescription. The automatic caller said I could pick up the prescription the next day, Tuesday after 1:00 pm. I went to the store on Friday, December 21, to pick up the prescription. The pharmacist asked for my name, date of birth, and she asked the name of the medicine. I gave her all the information and she said she has never filled a prescription for that medicine at this Meijer store. This is the store I have my prescriptions filled. Again, she said that medicine has never been filled at that store. So I came home, got the prescription bottle and drove back to the store. I gave her the bottle and asked her if this was the store that filled this medicine before. She laughed and said "yes, I looked under the wrong name." I gave her my name and date of birth, how could she not find it? I don't appreciate her thinking this was funny. She cost me time, I had to make a trip home to get the prescription bottle and drive back to the store, and she cost me money. This was over a 10 mile extra trip. I was polite to her and she laughed in my face!

Meijer The cashiers don't like working with black and brown community

I recently filed a complaint with meijer co. Regarding a gas station attendant in auburn hills mi. On brown rd.. This attendant doesn't like his job.. He doesn't looking, speaking or like touching black and brown people in the community.. I witnessed that first hand.. I touch this attendant and watched him go to the back and wash his hands as if I was contaminated with black like my blackness was going to rub off on him.. Took my concerns straight to meijer corporation, which transferred me to that local store management an the store failed me.. Heads up meijer no one should have to take a classes on how to be a good human.. But since this is what you do as a company, there's clearly a problem.. What I can't understand is why meijer corporation is entertaining this type of discrimination and racism.. Plus he's doing a job he clearly doesn't want.. On top of that, I have food safety concerns now, is this attended goin to do something to the food all because he feels some type of way towards a certain type of people or race 🤔.. These are questions and concerns that no customer should have to deal with.. You can do better then this meijer

Meijer the cashier service is horrendous

I am not one to complain much at all but I have had enough. The local Meijer store that I have went to for years here in Northville has the slowest service I've ever experienced. This isn't just a sporadic thing. This is the norm. I have decided to start shopping at Kroger down the street. I waited for ten minutes in one line and it didn't move. I am not exaggerating here at all. So I moved to another line and it was no better. I was going to just leave my cart with everything in it and drive down to Kroger but at this point I had 20 minutes in waiting time alone so I thought that to be pointless. 15 or more lanes and usually only 4-5 are open. Even the express do it yourself checkouts had lines of 10-15 people. It's ridiculous. This is how this store is 90% of the time. It was not a high traffic time. I'd expect this on a weekend or Friday night maybe but not at 11:30 AM on a Wednesday. I thought to go to Kroger but decided to stick with Meijer thinking that they wouldn't be slow at this time of the day. I thought wrong and should have stuck with the first idea. I will be going out of my way to give Kroger my money from now on. I'm done. I've been dealing with this for five years. This isn't about special circumstances. This is 100% poor store management. This store would make a ton of money if they would move more people out the door at a faster pace. I totally get that if the store is getting slammed by a lot of customers, it takes time. This could have been handled easily if the lanes were opened. Even if it's just to get people out. Open your lanes! Isn't this why they were installed? This store has got to be short on the projected earnings it could accomplish due to this issue. I bet it's capable of making much more money than it is right now. To top it off, the cashiers that are in the store work at a very slow pace. They have no ambition it seems. They just take their time and seem to make no effort to give the customer a great experience. On the positive side, the pharmacy is fantastic. I hope this complaint is something that will help. I don't mean to sound like a jerk. It's just a shame that such a nice store has to have such crappy service.
