Due to unfair refusal to provide any refund or reschedule my hotel booking despite extraordinary circumstances beyond my control. The cancellation was not due to my personal choice or change of travel plans. On 23rd and 24th July 2026, Gujarat experienced exceptionally heavy rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued warnings of exceptionally heavy rainfall, and Ahmedabad alone recorded approximately 294.6 mm rainfall in 24 hours, one of the highest rainfall events in the city's history. Roads were flooded, traffic came to a standstill, educational institutions were closed, and normal travel was severely disrupted. These extraordinary circumstances made it impossible and unsafe for my family to undertake the journey from Gujarat to Mount Abu. Therefore, this case falls within the doctrine of Force Majeure, where performance of the contract became impossible due to a natural calamity beyond the consumer's control.
Thank you.
